I don't get how ml is so infatuated with fl, this "love at first sight" doesn't help with the lack of chemistry between the leads. I've finally finished ep 2, probably give it a go until it's unbearable. But, I could be wrong, the middle might be better since it'll talk about their marital life and how fl survives in ml's family. It just that the beginning is pretty brutal

Yea, 0 chemistry. I'm hoping the other couples will be better. This is a comedy so hopefully I'll get some laughs. There's not many dramas out right now that is catching my eye. Even yy and raba's YAMG isn't catching my eye. The plot is overused, but it's a popular hit right now bc of the leads.

Hmm. I think the lesser well known or popular ones actually have to audition. The popular, well known A list actors don't really need to audition. I think their company or manager have talks with the director of the drama, or the director chooses the actors they have in mind and send their scripts to the actors and wait their decision. So these actors will have a lot of script offers. These actors wouldve alreadt have a standing in the acting world and their works speak for themselves. Perhaps the director or production company saw the value and acting abilities from a certain drama result. Others have this highest payer wins, where newer actors, usually idols, have company backings. So these companies will pay a huge sum of money or investment in this drama in trade of having their artists in it. Usually it's an A list celeb these companies want their artists to collab.

This is a YuZheng production, basically bailu's boss. He produced and wrote the script/drama. Bailu is his current most successful and well known artist so he's using her name to bring more awareness to the ml. Half, if not more, of the actors in this drama are his artists. It's very common tactic. Yangmi uses it a lot. Peachblossom she brought almost half her team in the drama. Chengyi's company is making him do it too just bc he got popular with Love and Redemp.

Bailu is charasmatic, the ml however isn't. He's weak and not very memorable. Unfortunately, I don't feel or see chemistry between them. Also the ml looks too young compsred to bailu. Is this drama supposed to have older sister younger brother vibes?

Same thoughts. She does it to "管-take care/look after him as part of her responsibilities. It's sibling banter. It seems like that's their relationship dynamic since young. She would chase him with a stick to make him go to school and monitor his homework. I don't find this as abuse. I don't believe siblings never fought when young. I've had my fair share of physical fights with my bro. I especially find it amusing when she grabs his ears. Reminds of an old married couple

I've always wanted Seven to act in a xianxa fantasy drama. This drama partially fulfilled my dream since Seven was able to dress like a fairy and she cooperated with Bai. As Baitan fans, we all know how hard this is for the two friends to cooperate ever since whirlwind girl. I hope there will be a 3rd collaboration. Their chemistry is just off the charts.

My dream came true for Baitan couple to finally reunite to film a drama, however short it is. As long time friends, their on screen chemistry is very natural and comfortable. I didn't have too high of an expectation since it's just 8 eps, but it's beyond what I expected. Perhaps bc it's only 8 eps so the drama didn't drag, but most importantly in such a short amount of time the drama was able to tell a whole story without feeling rushed. The script, plot and directing was well executed, along with amazing acting. I can see the gradual character growth and maturity of Xiao Dong, and the passion of Siqi in helping the villagers grow economically to keep up with the technology of the time. What I loved the most was the relationship growth of the two leads. They had their misunderstandings from childhood, but as they were able to talk about it and get to know each other more, their relationship changed for the better. I loved the sweet moments between them, especially the inner dialogue they have in their minds, it's just hilarious. This drama has a great balance of comedy, romance, growth and hardship of village life. I just wish it was longer than just 8 eps. Bai did great for comedy relief! Love Seven, her acting I can always count on.

You's obviously never watched Go Ahead lol. I wsnted ti smack the mom in Go Ahead. So if sny character can beat this mom character then she's something. I haven't felt that yet since aren't there yet

Ok, makes so much more sense! I watch it without eng subs since I understand Mandarin but xianxa/fantasy language is another level of understanding.

I watched first 2 eps and reslly didnt like it. Decided to dropped it and lster pucked it up again, but starting from ep 16. So far not as bad as I had thought. One problem I have is the random falling madly in love from ml. I skipped the first life, so idk how or why they fell in love, but 2nd life of ml just randomly likes fl just doesnt sit right with me. There's 0 build up as to why he would like her. He didn't even show low at first sight kinda thing. He just randomly showed signs of infatuation and he only met her. From all the xianxa dramas ive watched, this is the only one where the origin of love from ml didnt make sense. It just came out of nowhere, no back up story. I think thats why i felt 0 chemistry between them. I mean, even Miss the Dragon, however absurd the loyal love from ml, at least fl saved him so he kinda had fond feelings from that. At least that's something. I think if they wrote a better love line between the two in ALP, reviews for this drama would've been better

I watched eps 16-19 straight. Theres still some iffy stuff but I can look past it. It's getting morr interesting. I will definitely go to those epd you mentioned once im finished with the current
