I love a good slow burn, it's so much more believable. I go crazy for the CPs if a slow burn is done right. I can feel this drama will very excellent in this category. The director leaves the audience to their own imagination. The panning of ljq's feet to his waist, but lx is nowhere in sight. There's two assumptions, either lx also left on her own first or ljq carried her. I see fans' detective work, one said they can see a purple colour at the top right and it could be from lx's uniform. I love this!

She reminds me of Minglan from ZLY's drama. Honestly, what has captivated me with this drama is that any character, no matter how small, can be their own main character.

I think, for once in cdrama world, no one is obsessed with ml. They are all building their careers in some way. Also, what I read is that the Du siblings are from military family, that means their kids and their grandkids will have to be forced to join military by law. So the whole generation would only be allowed to do military and it's not even high positions like general that noble families can cut the line for. I think that's one of the main reason why both siblings want to marry up.

Maybe wait a couple more days to rack up the eps and then watch. Haha, reminds me LX racking up her merit points to get the big reward.

Lx talks about heroes from the wild, so soldiers would definitely be interested. The vivid storytelling hits a high when the horses neigh, she starts to come out of her shell, she doesn't have to be on her tippy toes and timid in Lin manor. She can be herself, Shen Jialan, who was probaby a very outgoing lady. Also the story she's telling is about "Qin Qiong and Yuchi Gong are renowned seventh-century Tang dynasty generals who are celebrated across Chinese folklore as protective military door gods". It basically relates to ml and marques (in novel they are bffs).

1. In novel, in order to marry fl as proper wife he created this play and had opera singers sing this country wide that it even reached the queen. So the whole country would know lx's story, admire her scholary talents and as well pity her. Lx also sold paintings under another name, and those paintings were very popular. Perhaps, instead of selling paintings for money (when they become free people), in this drama she will be selling books, stories she wrote.

It just really depends on how he does it. Gu uncle from Story of Minglan did it so cleverly and so funny when he confessed his plans to fl that audience were totally fine with it. So writer really need to do it well for me and the audience to accept.

I understand marriage is their livelihood since they are trapped inside 4 walls for life, the only change of scenery is their husband's 4walls. I get it, but I don't appreciate it heh
