I think he wants to passionately love XY with all his heart, but without powers he's all worried about enemies coming to him. He wants to protect XY and the demons in Demon Valley, but he feels helpless. So instead, he could only steal a kiss. I teared up rewatching that scene.

I thought it was a bit strange why HY said to drink alcohol to get some confidence and bravery to fight back to Demon Valley. But now I understand. First, when he wanted to go suicide mission to Illusion Island he used magic to make XY unconscious, but now since he has no powers he got XY drunk so he can leave secretly. Same motive, diff method.

The scene with bz and pianpian at the cemetary was soo pretty with those long wheat grass. So aesthetically pleasing. There's a video of him walking through those wheat grass with his poney tale and side bangs blowing in the wind. OMG I fell in love with that man in that moment. I wish they kept that scene in the drama. Or perhaps he ended the scene and was just walking away .

Yea, i found it weird how he just became so angry and wanted to fight HY. I thought his views on demon changed, but I guess he will always see HY as a demon that needs to be killed. Also, wasn't he pierced through with the sword and then another attack by the goddess, how was he able to stand up and wanting to fight again.

Commander Ji, I hate he's so annoying. But, honestly he represents the typical worker. In a sense to work enough to complete the task and to hand it to the boss.

There's no love triangle in this. 2ml has no romance with fl, they do have great chemistry onscreen, but he treats her like a sister. He's definitely simping on her as a brother would to a sister. I think his character is written so well, his background history and character development is done very excellent.

Period/fantasy dramas tend to do that for decades, and they don't need to change. I like that effect.

First kiss xy was unconscious in the water so that made sense, 2nd kiss, xy was kind of trying to console hy, 3rd kiss xy is frozen in time so there's no way for a passionate kiss and she's not even conscious. Ugh!!!

She became like this bc her lover deceived her, and ironically she deceived Taoshe, and the god beast waited 1000years for her to return. When she found out, and knowing Taoshe never hated her for it, she finally got a resolution and gave up on the hate, and also her goal to return to heaven. Also, Taoshe had 1000yr limit, or else he prob would stay forever waiting for her. What I like is that it's friendship this time that resolved it, not the cliche love

3rd lifetime: white haired XY with memory of first and 2nd lifetime, while HY is human prince with no memory.
