I think besides the slice of life that this drama does really well is the underrated romance. The dialogue and romantic intrigues are really well done.

The heartbreak in the drama is made up by the good endings (for most characters that deserve it, but not all). I think the drama wouldn’t be as good without the range of fortune for the characters.

All of the suggested ones are good, but this one is honestly the best so far. 🥹

One of my many many many favorite parts: in ep 40 HZ’s father’s expression when they said 4th Uncle and wife wanted to raise a girl just like HZ so they were traveling the world. 😂

Who knew we all needed a good, strong female-centered family drama in 2024? 💜

I can’t move on from this drama yet, still rewatching it from beginning to end, and repeating many favorite scenes, like the reunion scene in 40. 💖

It’s 1000x better than Romance on the Farm. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the leads in RotF but this drama is *chef’s kiss* 🤌🏻

I’m still repeating it, and the song was great even before that scene but now I tear up in a good way when I hear it.

So I actually started Lighter and Princess but couldn’t get into it. I start a lot of dramas but don’t finish a lot of them. I will probably go back and try it again. Same with her other drama with Chen XingXu.

Same! I barely knew her before this, and always got her mixed up with Zhou Ye. For a while there I thought they were 1 actress lol But I am definitely a fan now.

I cannot finish those long 50-60 episode dramas so I was actually glad they passed the law limiting them to 40, but holy mother of cats, I wish this one could be longer. 🥹🫰🏻🫶🏻

Curious if you’ve seen Love Like The Galaxy, and what you think of that emperor. He’s my favorite of that type of character. And his favorite concubine is mine too LOL. I don’t really like the emperor in this show.

I came right here to say this. 😁 I didn’t think he did wrong in the last episode, and after all this, I just feel for the Shen brothers. How two young men came from such snobby materialistic parents and grandparents is beyond me.

Honestly, if anyone wants a happy ending, stop at episode 16. It doesn’t tie up all the loose ends but it leaves you where the main leads are happiest.
