Exactly… I think the whole story makes more sense when you look at their relationship from beginning to end. They both had to go through so much before they finally found their way back to each other. You could see so much through her eyes, her expressions, and the things she did for him. That final conversation between them really showed how much her feelings had grown into love. I guess some viewers will just interpret what they think her words meant in that moment but they have to realize that everything in this cdrama isn’t just “surface level” it’s symbolic & their words carry a deeper message.

Yes that’s correct.. I only said this because Jinqi was worried the emperor wouldn’t have given him permission to go back to his family. So luckily he was able to spend more years with them before passing on.

After watching episode 47, we finally got to see how much Lanxiang and Jinqi’s bond had strengthened throughout their marriage. I teared up when Linqi tied the red string around himself and Lanxiang. It not only represented their fate and how they found their way back to each other, but also how they had become one an endless thread connecting their journey in that lifetime. When Jinqi was tying the red thread around Lanxiang, I noticed how she could see his shallow breaths. The look in her eyes showed so much love for her husband. His death was so sudden, but he came back home just to spend his final moments with her and tell her how deeply he cherished and loved her. It was such an endearing scene between them, and I don’t think they could have had a better goodbye.

I’ve seen some viewers say “Lanxiang never loved Jinqi,” just because she said that only in this life it’s enough that they’re married but I think she meant that she wanted more time to spend the rest of her life with him. If you paid attention to the way she looked at him whenever he returned from the capital, after being away from him for 6 months and nearly tripping over herself just to see him, I don’t know what else would convince some of the viewers. She was just as deeply in love with her husband by the later part of their lives.

Lanxiang is the type of character who shows her affection more through her eyes and actions than her words, and the same can be said for Jinqi. Their love was such a meaningful part of this cdrama, and I really enjoyed watching their slow-burn romance grow into something so beautiful and heartfelt. 🥹

It’s a life or death situation as to why lanxiang doesn’t outright say it up until now when Jinqi caught on that she wasn’t who he thought she was … she wasn’t supposed to survive at all but thanks to her adoptive parents she lived

The gravesite scene in Episode 38 was so powerful. When Lanxiang bowed with Jinqi to the Shen family, then saw the candlelight and incense smoke, it felt like her family was finally telling her that they approved of her husband and that she needed to go on and live well.
Then Jinqi revealed that he was the one who made sure her family was properly laid to rest. Seeing Lanxiang become so emotional while imagining her family smiling on the other side because she finally found their remains had me in tears. Her little sister and mother calling out to her as she cried made the scene even more heartfelt. 🥺

Even though Lanxiang once felt defeated by being tied to Jinqi and the Lin family, maybe it was fate that brought her back to her own family. She could finally see where the Shen family were laid to rest and bow to her clan. And now Lanxiang has fully opened her heart to Jinqi. It really feels like they were always meant to find each other. Their hearts truly belong to each other.
The screenwriter, lead actors, and directors did a phenomenal job with this scene, and the novelist has made another masterpiece. This episode might honestly be my favorite one out of the entire series so far. The success of this cdrama is greatly deserved.

Exactly...with women they might not say how they feel but its the actions that speak louder than words. Lanxiang's character should be given some grace considering how her life has been a turbulence. So of course its going to take her some time to open up to Jinqi. She is just now facing her trauma and trying to deal with it one day at a time. Her actions seem to be genuine love and care, she's just putting her walls up until she doesn't have to anymore.

I hope this is the 1 kiss scene they were talking about.. I've been wondering if it was just for promo or it'll be an actual scene.

I’ve seen some viewers call Lanxiang the “ice queen” because she hasn’t fully opened her heart to Jinqi yet, but I’ve noticed so many little moments where she’s clearly fighting her feelings. In episodes 36–37, especially during their heartfelt conversations in the barn and back at the capital, you can see it in her mannerisms. While Jinqi is pouring his heart out to Lanxiang, she slightly lowers her head and avoids his gaze, almost like she’s trying to hide those fluttery feelings from hearing how highly he speaks of her and seeing that he finally understands who she really is and is taking accountability for his actions.

I love a good slow-burn romance because the leads don’t always have to say how they feel. Their eyes, expressions, and little gestures say so much. With these two, it’s always the subtle moments that have me waiting for the affection to finally be shown on both sides.

Eventually, they’ll be happily married with two kids, and I’m here for the journey. This is some of the best onscreen chemistry I’ve seen in a long time. The slow burn is definitely worth the wait.

We’re almost at the end of this cdrama, and the plot continues to be entertaining. It really hasn’t fallen flat. The success for this cdrama is greatly deserved.

Episode 36 felt bittersweet, especially during the scene where Jinqi’s current wife and ex-wife sat across from him and had a heartfelt moment. I almost teared up because it showed Xingtang’s human side before she sadly passed away. She’s also just a woman trying to find her way in a world where so much was stacked against them and they tried their best to survive. When Xingtang passed the note to Lanxiang about Linqi’s “treason” for helping the Crown Prince escape and live freely without being trapped in the palace, I think Lanxiang started seeing Jinqi differently. She realized that he risked his life to save someone else, and what he did for the Crown Prince was done in good faith.

Considering how Lanxiang has also helped people whenever she saw someone in need, I think she realized that they actually have something in common. This slow-burn romance has definitely been worth the wait.

The scene where Lanxiang called Jinqi telling him to "take care" and he turned back around on his horse to then give her a kiss on the cheek & she was stunned... like this is true yearning .. I hope we get more romantic scenes like this one as the drama progresses until the end
