Officially it wouldn't be allowed in China because of government law,There is a very realistic fan edit movie…
Hello, I don't know if you're still around, but this sounds fascinating, and I watched through the first link you posted, but the second and third links aren't working. I looked around for another way to watch this or a place it might be posted, and couldn't find anything. I wonder if you can hook me up with an updated working link to parts 2 and 3, or if you know places I can look to find out more about this.
his dressing reminds me of what John Travelota would wear in some late 80s movie
perhaps i'd concede a resemblance, but travolta NEVER wore his sweater tucked in to slacks. Neither did Mr Kotter or Arnold Horshack. In fact I can only find proof that this fashion crime has ever been committed by TWO people:
This was a 'crap c-drama', if you know what I mean.
I first saw Ireine Song in Professiona Single, where she was decent. Fairly good. Then I suffered through Maiden Holmes, which was terrible, and she was terrible in it. Her performance was the flat, phoned-in, action focused acting you get with shows like Buffy Vampire Slayer, Murder She Wrote, Xena Warrior Princess. Second-rate, B-list acting. So it was categorized as "romance" but there was none of that.
Then I found myself watching this. Again with the flat acting from Ireine. I can't help but see her as a granny. She looks like a granny. And then in this show, around episode 10, they actually dress her up like one, which is hilariously tragic.
She's not the only one with flat acting. No one can act worth a damn in this entire thing except Zhang Yue Nan, who is radically outshining the FL to the point that it makes you wonder how the heck Ireine keeps getting 1FL roles. Nepotism? Industry connections?
Maybe that's a little harsh, this is only my 3rd thing I've seen with Ireine. But about the nicest way I could put it is that she's miscast. Badly miscast.
The BGM/OST is garish and overdone, as if they want to make up for the lack of emotion in the acting by compensating for it in the background music. It doesn't work. It just adds a layer of cheese to something already too cheesy. The costumes are obviously as good as they could get with their budget. Same with the sets. And I'm okay with budget-shows, but there has to be convincing acting there as the glue, or a fabulous script. This has neither.
I'm giving it a 6. It was bloody awful. Yeah yeah the bed scene. It's mind blowing how they filmed a scene that technically racy and yet it had no chemistry or feeling behind it at all. Goes to show how bad the casting choices were in this.
You are so new to asian drama, and you have so much good stuff on your "Plan to Watch" list that would be exciting…
If you like the vibe of the show, and if you like the eye candy factor of Ning'er and Xie Wei, it's easier to drift along with the plot, I must say. If I didn't think those two looked so so beautiful in this - I mean theres LOTS of beautiful people in this. Costumes, use of color, settings.... all dem visuals.... anyways if I didn't like all those visuals, I'd probably be more bored or feel more lost.
This is why it reminds me of Jane Eyre. You get immersed in all this stupid stuff because Charlotte Bronte's writing is so so good. Getting lost in the plot for 400 pages of whatthefuckever, lulls you into this sense of beautiful boredom and normalcy and that makes the romance go KERBAM and come out of nowhere and seem really jolting and intense. And the last 1 or 2 hundred pages is just fire.
Jane Eyre is my favorite book. But if someone said they hated Jane Eyre because it was long and boring, I can definitely see that side of it.

OK here are some good Taiwanese dramas:
Lost Romance - (This one is kind of like What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, in that it's famous for having some pretty spicy love scenes. But the plot is totally different. Plot and aesthetic give off W Two Worlds vibes kinda-sorta)
Meteor Garden - (this is the Taiwanese version of Boys over Flowers, and imo the best BoF, although Hana Yori Dango was all right too. It has a very oldschool dorama feel to it, and it's budget leaves it with a cheesy sort of feel sometimes, but the characters are well represented)
Devil Beside You - (Kind of tame in the 'fire and passion' department, but kind of hot when it comes to dialogue. About an ML and FL whose parents marry, leaving the kids to have to co-habitate. Very oldschool feel, but FL is cute and ML is hot)
Mars - (I haven't seen it yet but it is a classic, it comes highly recc'd by people)
The Rose - (Oldschool and low budget, very dialogue-driven story focused on interpersonal relationships between 4 siblings and their mom. This is maybe one of the most twisted asian dramas I've ever seen and I loved it, but many WONT love it, just fair warning. ML is the worst actor I've ever seen, possibly. Yet it's in my all-time top 5 fave dramas. But seriously, it is one messed up story so it repels as many people as it attracts. I mean we are talking incest-related stuff)
DISCLAIMER!!!! The comment below is my OPINION and only my opinion. If you like the Drama, POWER to you! LOVE…
Boredom punctuated by moments of brutally intense cringe... and not the funny amusing kind of cringe, but the painful facepalm kind of cringe that probably gives you cancer.
I need more dramas like this one (where the ml is madly in love with the fl) pls
possible u might like:
The Smile Has Left Your Eyes Falling Into You (this one is fluff) My Fated Boy (also fluff, and ML is clingy) Lesson In Love (warning, this is about an FL teacher with an ML student) TTEOTM, of course Doom At Your Service 5-ji kara 9-ji made The Long Ballad (kinda sorta, mayyybe idk)
But none of these is truly similar to SoKP, they all just have ML's who are just completely totally infatuated by the FL and have at least somewhat decent levels of spice/fire/romance/chemistry/passion.
Thansk much <3
Steve Urkel
Mork from Mork and Mindy
And Song Kang makes three.
It's absolutely unjustifiable. In any culture, on any planet, in any universe, this is a CRIMINAL fashion offence.
It is deeply symbolic of this show in it's entirety. This show IS the drama-form manifestation of "a sweater tucked into a pair of slacks".
