The bright side is that the novel is very good, so if they screw up the ending on this show, you can always go back and read the novel, and know that is the REAL ending. Which is an HE.

since they basically share a soul palace, it's fitting really. What happens to one happens to the other.

in the novel, he actually fully regains his memories before she does. people keep asking when does she regain her memories, but at the end of the novel she still has only partially regained them.

I'm pissed off people are saying they're gonna kill FL at end of third arc and then have a modern-day thing. In novel they just wander happily off into the sunset or whatever. I hope they make it fast and hokey just to slap something on there for the ccp censors, so that the spirit of the end of the novel is upheld. We can't be having 3rd arc FL die in the end, that's not how this shit is supposed to work. aigoo....

They changed a little bit about how Ru Ling soul-transferred, and gave her a completely invented (not in novel) romance with the snake, and I think they're doing it all this way, so that when Sima Jiao enters the 3rd arc and gets his amnesia, audience has already seen "soul transfer effects" in how they worked with Ru Ling.

They also sped up the growth of Ru Ling from baby to adult in 2 days to skirt around the difficulties of sticking with the novel, when in the novel the 'mortal' sima Jiao was 16 when he met Ting Yan again.

imo the reason why they messed with snake and ru ling's characters from the novel:

GOOD JOB, GIRL!!!!! You don't have to compromise who you are as an actress to make a role great. You just have to be willing to be vulnerable to your audience, to your acting partner, and just be yourself. You and Arthur look so good together and brought your characters to life. Congratulations on making such an amazing drama, we LOVED IT.

The novel is really really racy, and really really vague. That's all i have to say on the matter.

does she know that she was the one he always loved, YES. 100% yes.

will he ever find out she is a time traveller? No, not in the novel.

Does the drama end in modern world in novel? No. It ends in the human realm, but still in the same universe and general time as the first two arcs. There is a bonus chapter at the end, set far in the future that's basically sci-fi style.

I'm frankly confused by the "modern world" talk going on too. I have no idea what that's all about, but I suspect it's going to be something like what they did at the beginning/end of SoKP, a few minutes tacked on at front and back to satisfy the CCP censors. But really idk.

Or! What if they use the emoticons again to kind of push her into remembering. I'm thinking maybe seeing her old belongings or her old evidence of existence could shake her out of it.

Ok I see where youre coming from now.... in that case all they have to do is bring it to a head that her "father" is an asshole that doesn't love her. So they could have him expose his ugly side to her, maybe try to hurt her, and then SJ intervenes at critical moment right before good old dad is about to hurt her, or right after he says something vile and crushes her feelings or something like that.

Ohhhhh yes that's right! We are talking full on DOUBLE AMNESIA! Aaaaaaa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

I hate amnesia a lot, but I thought the way they did it in this story was cute and hot and awesome.

All she has to do is put it together in her mind. He asked if that guy was her "nanpengyou". She goes "who taught you that word" and hes like "you did."

Boom, there it is. She just needs to sit down and rub a few brain cells together for a minute and she'll realize she can trust him.

One thing about the novel that was cool here at this part of the plot that I don't think they conveyed as well as they could have, is how SJ is like burning down the entire demon realm town by town looking for her, and in the novel you feel this huge army closing in, just imagine being so afraid, and then later finding out it was all for you...

Missed opportunity imo.

The modern meeting, I cannot understand, there's nothing like this in the novel at all. The final bonus chapters are about them in a future, but it's like way in the future like sci-fi. So this makes me think the modern part is just gonna be lip service for the ccp censors, like a three minute what-have-you that circles back to the beginning like SoKP did.

If they mess with the original story's 3rd arc, I am gonna cry so hard.

I can't tell you how the drama will play it out, but in the book:

* Novel ends without her fully regaining her memories, it is a process that she's begun and they leave you with the idea that she will eventually slowly regain them naturally

* 3rd arc, Sima Jiao meets her again as an emperor or king or something who is 16yo. He is resurrected or reborn or soul transferred or whatever, and he lost his memories. At some point later he recovers them, but the novel never tells you exactly when that happens. Supposedly things just started falling into place, first he remembers a few things, then more, and when he becomes his real self again, totally intact, he doesn't let on right away, so you as the reader don't really know when this occurrs.

I know that when I write it out like this, it sounds like a huge bummer, but it's really not, its cool af how they play it out in the original story.

I like that I get extra time to watch tortured brooding sexy Sima Jiao.

We are so SPOILED by this show up to this point that one or two episodes of angst and it's like "ow ow ow!" Think of how much pain TTEOTM put us through?!? Or TLB! Or TMOPB! This is nothing, soldier!

All that matters is the payoff. So hopefully they rectify all this mess for us very soon.

Yeah, it's short, much like my attention span as I wait for WDBTD eps to drop. Everything Fan Zhi Xin is in is a short-length. I can't vouch for whether it's good or not. The MDL ratings do not instill me with hope, but sometimes I disagree with MDL, so I'll give it a fair shot. So far in ep 1 we had FZX in a really hot black armor with a ponytail and it was very waaahhhhhh, he is rockin the long hair, and his acting seems on point so far.

But I won't give it a good review unless his eyes turn so black and smoldering at some point that my monitor bursts into flames, and we get decent kiss scenes.

You never know with FZX, some of his projects are HOTTT, and some of them are virtually spiceless or he even did one that was a psychological thriller with no romance. We shall see where this goes. He is one of my weaknesses, his eyes are just melt me like a stick of butter in a microwave omg.
