I decided to go with Luminosity Behind the Palace. The FL I'm not so sure about, im on ep 2 and so far i'm not impressed but maybe she will grow on me.
I'm just watching it because Fan Zhi Xin is so wahhhhhhhh and in My Lethal Man he was so waaahhhhhhh and every time i watch one of his crappy dramas, i hope this one's gonna be the ONE lol. And it never is, but I keep watching them. At least they're short-length.
In the novel he didn't go into her dreams, but the flow of narration (chapter 59) suggests that he learned about…
tysm, I binged the novel so fast its all sort of a blur lol.
I can roll with the changes for now, but they better not pull any totally crazy shit like giving it an SE or miss some of the awesomer scenes in the novel, like not doing the otter and snake by the pond scene or the kid-eats-the-dead-body scene...
Hi novel reader, can I ask, was there a SML in demon realm and was their reunion in demon realm a drag in the…
I am a complete dippity-doo and I speed-read the novel because it was just that good that i couldn't stop til i finished it in one sitting. And I don't remember a 2ML. Was their reunion in demon realm a drag in the novel.... yes and no. Of course, the reader (me) is dissappointed that she can't remember all that cool shit they did. But the plus side is that she can re-discover him like it's the first time, and you get to go thru that with her. She gets back together with him pretty fast, this whole ep is full of stuff that's not in the novel. The way the novel feels and the way it flows reminds me so much of Howl's Moving Castle, or Diana Wynne Jones who wrote Howl's Moving Castle also wrote a book called House of Many Ways that also reminds me of this in tone, where all problems and angst are resolved very fast and sometimes uneventfully. This episode creates content that injects the story with more depth and a little jolt of angst to reveal more depth of feeling from him. But since it's going to follow the novel probably, this angst won't last very long, it can't. Did Hong Lou get resurrected by SJ? Yes. In the book, she is born as a baby but with all her original memories intact completely. She also grows rapidly, just like Edward and Bella's kid in the Twilight series does, and talks like the old Hong Lou while she is still just a tiny kid, and it's funny.
I'm currently watching this and Moonlit Reunion and both are good. Trust me, if you start watching this you'll…
I have not liked Kai's choices in projects lately, but I love Kai as an actor and he's cute. So I was browsing the MDL page for MR and people are like "Well they finally start getting together in ep 18... but by ep 11 you can start seeing signs that he likes her tho!
And I thought... sigh, let me guess, another typical Kai drama... great eye candy, above average acting, and a distinct lack of spice. Aigoo.....
And we're over here watching this like waahhhhhh more spicy kisses and more spicy kisses and sharing food and waking up in the same bed and then more kisses!!!
Kai! What's wrong with you! Go get a spicy script with some good angst in it and do a full-on attack scene like Ling He and Bai Lu or Jesse Ren and Fang Jin!!! I can't believe I'm just bagging out on Kai dramas now, but I just... he's too hot. I don't want to watch unless it has a full on melt you to the ground thunderstrike kiss in it.
I've seen Kai actually ACT, like.... REALLY REALLY well. But imo everything he's been taking lately is beneath him and it shows. His FL's can't keep up with him. His project choices aren't anything super spectacular. I find it so frustrating, because he has so much potential that's going untapped.
Yeah honestly this whole episode doesn't really happen in the novel, Tingyan believes Sima Jiao pretty fast. While…
imo, it gives SJ more depth, and kind of brings alive a dynamic between ML and FL that I think is hot and awesome. Adds some continuity too and imo flows better than this part of the novel. I really loved it.
The novel had a really cutsey quality like problems were resolved so quickly and I like that, but this tweak they did brings the tone a little darker and sexier with more dimension and brings some angst into it. But since we've read the novel, we know the angst is going to be short-lived, so it's not like a huge bummer. It's just a bunch of excuses to give Arthur Chen sexy brooding jealousy-man screentime. And that's ok with me.
Have you watched lighter & princess? you'll get crush on him,, so handsome 🫶
Oh god, the TIME SKIP was so awful too!!!
I know I know she changed over time, but she was so awful at the start that when she cries later, all I feel is schaedenfreude.
I don't care that you liked it and I didnt, I like talking about shows regardless. Sometimes I'm just amazed when I'm in the minority about an opinion, like not liking L&P. But my favorite drama ever was Story of Kunning Palace, and most people liked that, but some didn't. I can see their pov too. That it's draggy, or they don't like Bai Lu's acting in it, or they thought Ling He was too wooden of an actor or too much of a d*ck... or they thought the music and the echo effects were weird and cringe.... but until I saw this, SoKP was the only time I've ever given a drama a 10/10, it just did it for me for some reason. Ling He is so fire as Xie Wei. But I think WDBTD is going to be the 2nd 10 I ever give a show, because waaaahhhhhhh he really is a great actor and this part is just made for him.
I started this way way too soon. How was I supposed to know it was the most binge-able drama that's come out in over a year. I am just kicking myself. How did this happen. If anyone is wondering if they should wait or just start now... for the love of god. WAIT. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Now I’m literally thinking of 99 creative ways to kill that so-called ‘dad’ of hers… and deep down I just…
In the novel he's kind of funny to laugh at, and you're almost sad to see him go as a character. I think the actor playing him is playing it pretty true to how the novel portrays, kind of hamming it up a little bit, in his wheelchair like "You must kill sima jiao!!" His evil villain laugh is good also.

ah man, all i can think about when I watch that is 'yep, it was the FL that ruined this for me'. She was awful! So smug! Ughhh, Yeah Wang An Yu rocked that haircut way harder than Arthur Chen, that's for sure.
Seeing LTY being forced to kill by her “father” is heartbreaking for the viewers because we know how much…
But it's also cool, because we're watching SJ learn about love. He's like grandmaster 500 yr old rock star god of Kik Yo As, but he's never had a loving relationship with anyone ever since his parents. But he's not slow on the uptake. The hurt he caused her when he forced her to kill the first time around finally comes full circle, and he understands that hurting her is hurting himself. They gave us some emotionally gorgeous moments in this ep.
I especially feel for times where an FL goes thru something that makes her go thru denial/repression/shut-down mode, because that's my natural reaction to trauma also. Some people can't understand it when FL's go thru something that causes them to mentally and emotionally "check out" and turn cold or distant or numb and they don't think it seems realistic, but its pretty realistic to me lol...
So when he sees the original moment that caused her to "shut down" emotionally and turn tough and it hurt him, I felt like he was sharing her pain, and that meant assimilating FOR her some of the pain she couldn't afford to feel herself.
Novel readers: they added some new content to the script right? Where he goes into her dreams and sees her killing for the first time. I don't remember that being in the novel...?

I was bait-and-switched!!! 😂🤣 It was false advertising I tell you!
You are very sweet, I'm used to getting clobbered in most comment sections because I'm like Unpopular Opinion Girl a lot of the time, I'm too picky. But you are very nice.
I wish people understood that everyone is welcome to comment about shows here, this isn't a fan page, and was a little nicer about not agreeing all the time. It doesn't really affect my life if someone doesn't agree with me abt a show, I've never understood how some people can go from zero to kys when you say one wrong thing like "I hated ABAY."
Most business dramas put me to sleep, I don't like cubicles and sales projections and business casual. Except for some exceptions like Fake It Till You Make It with Elvis Chan I thought was really good. And Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, if that counts as 'office'.

This drama is just so badass i cant eve
He does have good hair here tho.
I remember watching Falling Into You, and there were people knocking his buzzcut. I thought it was cute!
And she has her answer literally one minute later.
This is one of the many reasons I love this drama. Other scriptwriters would have dragged that out.
