Rewatching this after my recent watched list of The Double ✅️, Blossom in Adversity✅️, In Blossom ❌️…
When theres so much electrical charge between two people that just little mundane things give you butterflies... like if just their little fingers touch and youre like silent-screaming inside over it.
My honest take on it, is that hes just not as good of an actor as Ling He. I think people who rave about him just…
Im reluctant to recc it, but if youre truly terribly bored, you could try Enslaved By Love. Its absolutely not the same, its just a piece of crap, but its pretty decent for a piece of crap. Super toxic red flag angst stuff. Hot ML FL pairing, ML is a great actor.
My honest take on it, is that hes just not as good of an actor as Ling He. I think people who rave about him just…
Gaahhhhh nothing 2 watch, this is what sokp does to my brain. Now im just carpet sharking for anything that even remotely resembles xw and nothings good enough.
Sometimes hes splattered with the blood of his slain enemies.... sometimes hes just upest over walnut cake.
My honest take on it, is that hes just not as good of an actor as Ling He. I think people who rave about him just…
Any reccs ----> no
His XW performance kind of came out of nowhere, his other roles are either with him less experienced or not given good ml roles or crap production, etc.
My honest take on it, is that hes just not as good of an actor as Ling He. I think people who rave about him just…
Ikr..... I went back and watched all Ling He's previous work, and ill bet they were ALL surprised at how he nailed that XW role. Maybe Bai Lu just brings out the best in her MLs, or maybe the casting director has a really sharp eye for talent, idk. But whatever the case i must haz MOAR.
what did you think about Zhang Zhe's glow up? I haven't watched this yet, but I heard ppl say he was taking notes…
My honest take on it, is that hes just not as good of an actor as Ling He. I think people who rave about him just think hes really really hawt. He is playing a similar character. But the way he plays it is very different than Ling He. I dont think his passion or badassery, anger, jealousy, rage.... are as convincing as LH. But that doesnt mean i dont think its worth watching, id definitely recc it. For me, an 8 is a good score. Its just not imo that similar of an ML.
He aint no XW, but hes allright. I like his fight scenes, hes sexy with a sword.
Did I say its worse for women? No, nowhere did I say that. Im describing the characters motivations, why she was written that way.
You say you didnt read the novel. However, even in the drama, you can see how her parents are dismissive of her as a person, and constantly cut off her opportunities in favor of her sister, and compare her unfavorably to her sister. So there are places in the drama where they make attempts to infer her backstory, though I think they could have shown it more clearly, its true.
You gave some reasons why you didnt like the way the FL was written, we are discussing those reasons, and now you say were not addressing your reasons. Were not just blathering about stuff from thin air, were responding to points you yourself brought up. Im confused how responding to those points is now not addressing your issue, when theyre the points you brought up in the first place....?
when you say "it took 32 episodes b4 she finally understood mls intentions"....
In the novel, her parents were shit. She has a shit father. Women who grow up with shit fathers, have a lower core self esteem than women who had good fathers. It just is what it is, and its a fact of psychology.
Now... ZZhe is "safe". Hes EASY. Sure, hes an ivory tower of virtue that she feels she has to work hard to deserve. In that sense hes not easy. But he is completely guileless, whereas she is manipulative and calculating by nature. In this sense, for her, the ML is controllable. Hes EASY.
When she meets her equal, her match, someone who deserves her, and who she deserves, her low self esteem will not allow her to think he might like her. She sets her sights too low, she does it unconsciously.
This is why it takes her 32 episodes for it to sink into her damaged psyche that he actually wants her. He has to attack her with lust for her to see the reality of his feelings. She would never in a million years assume someone like him could want someone like her.
When they meet in the first life, here she is the empress and what does she do, she begs him and throws herself at him. As the viewer, you can feel his disgust. Because shes ruined any relationship they could have by immediately debasing herself in front of him. What she is battling here, is the low self esteem her shit parents gave her. She learns her true worth by the end of the drama.
In her first life, she judges herself as evil. Thats is because she is a good person! What do we see her do thats so evil? Kill kids? Torture people? No. She is just insensitive to other peoples feelings when they get in the way of her goal, which is to show her parents up. This is her motivation behind her choices in her first life.... her parents told her in words and actions that she was nothing, so she became the biggest 'something' there is, the muthafukkin empress! Whos the nobody now, mom and dad!? When she proves to them and herself that yes she IS consequential as a person, enough that she could be empress, its a hollow victory because she won it by becoming everything her shit parents taught her to be. Because her true self is good, she dies unsatisfied and ashamed. The second chance is to learn grace, and not be controlled by her parents and their shittines, but to discover her true self.
What are you guys watching now? It's so dry in C-dramaland nowadays.
The Double. It was a good drama, i gave it an 8, but it WAS NOT A ROMANCE. I got nothin to watch either. Im rewatching undercover affair, and after that ???
Fuck the pearl clutchers and the autistic screeching banshees. They know full well what theyre watching, but they…
Woke is critical race theory / third wave feminism propaganda which is incentivised by globalist organizations such as the WEF, who give businesses rankings based on their ability to integrate DEI values into their practices. China supresses religious and intellectual freedom, and has organ harvesting programs and death vans for dissenters. And while i never divulge my age, i grew up wearing moon boots, watching flinstones on saturday morning, and cruising the neighborhood on a dukes of hazzard tricycle, and im still slightly upset that mom never bought me a cabbage patch kid.
Whats really happening is that youre not understanding what im saying. What im saying, is that people dislike woke propaganda so much that theyd rather watch shows made by a dictatorial communist regime, than watch all this woke crap. Because china may have death vans, yes.... but they dont randomly insert black actors in historical sagas or insert gratuitous subplots into their stories about gay acceptance and institutionalized racism when its got nothing to do with the actual plot. THATS how much people hate woke crap in their shows, that theyd actually unironically rather watch entertainment created by a country that organ harvests from its prisoners and commits cultural genocide on people it finds pesky, than watch woke infested shows. Because woke is just THAT repugnant to many people. Every business that gets infected with woke, eventually goes broke. Case in point, budweiser and john deere. Thats why companies like microsoft are now ending their DEI programs completely to distance themselves from wokeness. And if korean entertainment wants to go woke, they gonna FAFO for themselves what happens to businesses who do that.
how tf is bad story bad production and bad directing HER fault...why is it only HER fault and not ml's if there's…
Right, like the same way i just know you're an under-30 female bully with narcissistic tendencies, a persecution complex, and an iq lower than 110 who thinks winning an intellectual dispute means getting the last word in.
how tf is bad story bad production and bad directing HER fault...why is it only HER fault and not ml's if there's…
This isnt the first time ive seen her kill the romance in a romance. Look at her in their first non-drunk kiss scene. You can see her acting everything with a precision from doing everything exactly on cue. Shes not thinking about the ML or the role shes playing, shes just thinking about the cameras and the director.
With her, the caliber of production has nothing to do with the fact that while she can act many emotions, "in love" is not one of them.
This is obviously IMO.
I dont understand why some mdl users think that the way to state their opinion is to attack someone elses. Why not just be direct about your own opinion, and say that you like her acting.
Im personally, after seeing her in several dramas, more inclined to believe that she gets a shit tier caliber production, because that is what her level of acting warrants.
Fuck the pearl clutchers and the autistic screeching banshees. They know full well what theyre watching, but they…
Like i said....they may be a lot of things.
But theyre not woke.
They may be totally effed up in a bunch of other ways. The whole world knows it. Its not some big secret the way they run their country, although they like to think it is. HOWEVER. They arent woke. Their entertainment industry isn't infected with woke mind virus.
As a result, their entertainment is enjoying a greater degree of popularity in current year than ever before.
It used to be the opposite, kdramas were more popular. But theyve been selling out to woke investment money. As a result, theyre losing viewers while cdramas are gaining viewers.

What score did you give TPR?
