Another Miss Oh is one of those where they think it's funny to put the FL in all these embarrassing and humiliating situations. And I don't think that kind of shit is funny, and it kills any "sexy" the show might have happening. So the kisses themselves are fiery, because Eric Mun can bring it. But the show has no fire or spice, at least not imo. So the kiss isn't silent-scream-awesome because the show it's embedded in wrecks the mood all over the place.

Que Sera Sera I would watch again. Another Miss Oh I wouldn't, not ever.

I thought a lot about whether Eric Mun deserved to be on the "Best Kisser" awards list, but decided against it, because he has two dramas I've seen with hottt kisses (Que Sera Sera and the other drama was Another Miss Oh, but I'm not a fan of that show, I don't recc it at all).... and two dramas I've seen with stupid kisses. The shows where he is doing stupid-kissing.... it might be because the FL in those shows isn't 'helping out', however I suspect it's because all his stupid-kiss shows are the ones he did after he got together with his new woman in RL. Whatever the issue, he is hit-or-miss. When he's on fire, he's fucking on FIRE. But when he's not it's a big dissappointment. So I didn't put him on the Kiss Awards list.

*(Leo Yang is a good onscreen kisser too, although he sometimes looks like he's about to eat the FL's face, his kisses are a bit too open mouthed and voracious, but they're fiery all the same. Anything with him in it will probably have a good kiss scene or two or three)

Honorable Mention: Okay so there's a french kiss by Lee Minho in the end of Legend of the Blue Sea. But it's just stupid though. The show is cute and awesome for the first half, and then it gets really dumb and boring, and by the time this kiss happens I no longer gaf at all about it, and it doesn't look...okay I guess you could say that to me, he doesn't look like he'd be a good kisser. At least not judging by that french kiss, I don't think he looks very skilled. Maybe it's just me.

It doesn't. It's one of the only things about this drama I'd change. In a cultural context, I think it's incredibly unhealthy that the chinese always seem to add this little touch to their dramas, we see it so often, and it's not japanes or koreans doing this, it's CHINESE doing this, and they need to know nobody likes it.

But in the context of just this drama, just within that narrow context, it's like a minor flaw to me, a small detail. Simply BECAUSE the drama is chinese, and if you want to watch chinese drama, that's something you have to sometimes put up with or else skip quite a fair number of dramas.

What will it do on a realistic level if I boycott or trash this whole drama just because of that one thing.

I have to admit, I do like the forced kisses though. I could see how some might not like it, totally understandable. But for me I find it rather thrilling. It's not just because he's hot.... because if Yan Lin the 3ML did that to her, I wouldn't think it was thrilling. It's just because ML and FL are so spicy together I suppose.

That look he gives her father when he catches Xie Wei kissing Ning'er in the carriage... dear god.

He's the hottest thing I've ever seen! What's funny to me, is that Ling He is fair-level hot in other stuff I've seen him in. But it's playing THIS character that makes him so soo sooo next-level apex hot. He was so good in Enslaved By Love, he could turn from sexy wicked badboy to sweet puppydog to utterly shattered despair on a dime. Amazing acting skills. I want to see him bigger productions with meatier, more complex ML roles.

The ones that drive me nuts are the ones where the FL is a LIAR. It doesn't bother me when an FL lies sometimes here or there for understandable and pressing reasons. The ones that get me are ones that have an FL that lies for seemingly no good reason about nearly everything. What's wrong? "Nothing." Where'd you go today? "Nowhere." Do you like me? "No." Are you hungry? "No, I'm fine (stomach immediately scowls)" Are you cold? "No, I'm OK (shivers)" ....... And the kicker is that, usually there is a scene where she promises to tell the truth "from now on", and then in the very next scene she's lying again about something so trivial and stupid.

The reason it bothers me is because in these shows, she's the FL! We're supposed to root for her and identify with her. And I just can't, I end up finding myself seeing her as a villain who deserves for the ML to kick her to the curb.

Most of the time, abusive people learn the behavior from their parents at a very very young age. I saw an interview where a psychologist relates the story of observing a daycare. One day, a 6 year old male child began to cry over something.... and a 4 year old girl, who normally minded her own business, walked all the way across the classroom to start beating the boy, hitting him on his back and head, even though he was a lot bigger than she was. She did this because she had already learned - from watching her parents interact - that when someone cries, you hit them.

For this very reason, preschool and kindergarten teachers often know exactly which kids are living in abusive home situations, because they learn very fast how to imitate those behaviors they see at home.

By the time a child is past the formative years (0-7 years old) there really isn't much that can "normalize" behaviors to them. The examples they see in early life have already set their behavior patterns. A TV show can't change that.

I like watching some stuff like this sometimes, not because I would like it or enjoy it in RL, but because I had a shithead neglectful father, and so the idea of someone obsessing over a woman that hard, seems awesome to me (FOR A FICTION, mind you, not RL). It's like a kind of overcorrection for the way in which I am psychologically effed up, so it speaks to my "shadow self" I guess you could say. Something deep in my brainstem wishes I had gotten more attention from my early childhood primary male figure, so I crave shows where the ML is obsessive or hyper-possessive.

What I'm doing with the people around me in RL, are quite a lot more normal than what I like in my dramas. I've had a few very healthy and long-lasting relationships (but with the caveat that I've also had a few unhealthy ones too, although still nothing like to the degree I like in a drama).

Cultural and psychological repression can cause just as much chaos and pain, if not more. Just look at Pastor's Kid Syndrome. Pastor's kids generally have very strict rules about only focusing on "good" things and watching "good" media, and they often turn out to be the wildest and most troubled kids in school as a result of the repression they live under.

Also, I don't know any child "brought up on" shows like this. I don't think any parent out there is replacing Veggie Tales and Power Rangers with dark-romance c-dramas for their little tykes.

If you're talking about "young people" who are over age 12 or so, much of their personality and psychological makeup is already set for life, so seeing a show like this every now and then can't do any damage in and of itself in nearly all instances.

Also, there isn't more and more brutality in societies. Brutality is a fact of life that has existed in nearly all cultures and times. Romans thought it was fun to get together and eat popcorn with the fam and watch lions kill people. In traditional arab cultures, women are killed if a man rapes them non-consentually sometimes. Vikings cruised the seas looking for villages to decimate. Native Blackfoot Indians used to scalp people they didn't like. In medieval times, church leaders raped kids and women with no repercussions. In 1800's NYC, gang culture was so brutal that the most popular bar was run by a woman who filed her teeth into points and kept a jar of EARS behind the counter next to the booze. In ancient Japan, being humiliated was a good enough reason to commit seppuku. Many Native American, African, Arab, European, and Asian cultures accepted slavery as normal. Aztecs used to gather around and watch a priest rip the heart out of a virgin as a sacrifice to their gods. Or take Hiroshima, the ultimate act of brutality, which was comitted by a country where -at the time- TV programming was dominated by Lassie, Leave it to Beaver, and I Love Lucy.

Censorship is not a good thing, as it tends to backfire eventually.

Besides, he's hot. We all know hot people get a free pass to do a lot of shit normal people could never get away with, just because they're hot. It doesn't matter that it's not fair, it's just a fact of life. When he's seeking her forgiveness, I'm sure it doesn't hurt that he's sexy as hell :P It certainly didn't with my ex. It's hard to stay mad at someone who you think is hotter than a eucalyptus forest on fire.

In the drama, yes she is the only one who is aware she's on a second timeline. In the novel I think there is one or two other people aware of the second timeline, but neither of those people is the ML. I spent the first third of the show thinking the plot twist would be that Xie Wei the ML also remembers the other timeline, but no.

I'm exclusively a binge watcher, so I never watch more than one thing at a time. So I'm no good for advice at least on that, because I'd always say to finish one thing before starting another.
