The same TYPE of ML as we discussed here
the FL on other hand has dated multiple guys.

Even before watching ep1 of that drama, I would have told you exactly how ML would have been like.

Even a before a drama is released, in most dramas, you know exactly how the ML will be.
It's funny and tragic seeing these duplicated ML's in each and every Cdrama and kdrama.
They are just carbon copies of each other.

It's the job of kdrama and Cdrama ML's to keep themselves pure for the FL.

LOL, Kdrama ML's have zero self respect.
simping is the only mode they have.

The anger is not because of just this drama.
These kinds of ML's have been the trend in Cdramas and Kdramas for few years now.

Almost every Cdramas and a lot of Kdramas with romance as main theme has a ML who rarely would have liked any other woman than FL, while the FL is just as we see in this drama...

the disappointment comes from watching the same ML waiting for the FL, while the FL goes around doing her own thing and dating/liking other men.

This is Kdrama and that's exactly how they like their ML's.

Looks like it is you who needs some relationship experience.

And the ML and FL were NOT in a relationship when that happened.

Not only the writers but also viewers think ML needed to be sorry towards someone who he is not in a relationship, over an issue where was NOT at fault.

I did, could not find a single drama where the ML looks at a woman's body and reacts.
On other hand, challenge me and I will show you FL's drooling over a handsome man other than ML.

instead of asking me to find a ML drooling over a woman, why not just name the drama, episode and we can carry on the discussion..

So, there was a small spark there to even start that relationship.

And I am pretty sure when a pretty girl walked by or even now walks by, you would have looked and appreciated the looks.

THAT never happens in Cdramas or Kdrama.

Like I challenged here, show me one drama where the ML looks at another woman and shows sexual desire.
I can show a dozen dramas in last 6 months where the FL is shown appreciating a handsome man.

Taking you as an example and comparing is very uncomfortable, I would rather be generic.

My point is simple ->
Be consistent.
If you are building a world where sexual feelings are rare and romance is pure etc etc, have both ML and FL the same way.
but showing ML as a monk and FL as normal girl does not work.

Kdrama 101 -
ML always have a trauma that always affect their sexual desires.
Fl's never have any trauma & nothing affects their sexual desires.

You don't need lot of options. With his looks the only thing ML had to do was decide to date, he would have found suitable woman even in a forest.

The 3 dramas you have pointed I have not watched. I will give them a go and get back.
but all of them seem to be historical dramas, reflecting China in those ages where Haram was part of process.

Also, the fact that you could not point at a single recent drama where the ML is attracted to another woman than FL is telling.

I have been watching Cdramas for last few years and I have NEVER seen a cdrama ML showing an iota of attraction to any other woman than FL.
Just because a drama has women around the ML does not make a harem. harem is when the ML is shown romancing multiple women.

Just to get your story straight in points

- you grew up as healthy boy, liking many girls as you grew up
- you also had many relationships
- eventually you realized you liked the girl who grew up with you and had a happy ending. Caveat is, you did not realize you liked her until some pointed to and then it became mutual

That's a normal story of boy, man, except you falling for your bestie.

Now, let's review ark of typical cdrama ML.
- never liked any girl
- never shows any attraction to any girl
- meets FL, falls in love with her and happy ending.

This is like 90% of cdrama ML's. in most dramas, pretty much this is what the ML is like.

THAT was what my main point was.
If some one tells you a 30 year old man, never liked a girl or never felt sexually attracted to a girl - what would you say?

My limited point that a man knows when he likes a girl, is generic, may be there could be exceptions but the statement for most part is very true.
BUT, what is not an exception is a 30 year old straight, healthy man being projected as some one who was never attracted to any girl. that is pretty much a straight up BS.

Thats why I say most ML's in cdramas are fake.

LASTLY and this is IMPORTANT.
Please do read my first post, I clearly talked about LIKING only.

In fact most cdramas don't even have ML even looking at any other woman.

On contrary, I can provide 10 cdramas in last 1 month where FL has that kind of interactions with men other than ML.

Kdramas are little better but have progressively getting similar to cdramas in projecting ML.

Neither in modern, nor in historical dramas, the men.....dont smell right.

I would have definitely agreed with your premise of 'younger and naive audience' as reason why it is toned down, IF the FL were also similarly written.

The FL's on other hand, in many dramas are sexually OK. Not really there in terms of reality but you do see FL's seeing an attractive man and having positive reaction.
In fact there are quite a few dramas where the FL show significant amount of attraction to men other than ML.

If anyone could refer to a single cdrama where the ML showed a spark of sexual attraction to any other woman than the FL, I will agree your premise is spot on.

This drama is pretty fun and leads have great chemistry
but, the whole tone of drama where ML is in wrong to have liked another woman than FL is cringy.
being close to reality is not necessary, just have the ML's as real as the FL's.
