I have been watching Cdramas for last few years and I have NEVER seen a cdrama ML showing an iota of attraction to any other woman than FL.
Just because a drama has women around the ML does not make a harem. harem is when the ML is shown romancing multiple women.

Just to get your story straight in points

- you grew up as healthy boy, liking many girls as you grew up
- you also had many relationships
- eventually you realized you liked the girl who grew up with you and had a happy ending. Caveat is, you did not realize you liked her until some pointed to and then it became mutual

That's a normal story of boy, man, except you falling for your bestie.

Now, let's review ark of typical cdrama ML.
- never liked any girl
- never shows any attraction to any girl
- meets FL, falls in love with her and happy ending.

This is like 90% of cdrama ML's. in most dramas, pretty much this is what the ML is like.

THAT was what my main point was.
If some one tells you a 30 year old man, never liked a girl or never felt sexually attracted to a girl - what would you say?

My limited point that a man knows when he likes a girl, is generic, may be there could be exceptions but the statement for most part is very true.
BUT, what is not an exception is a 30 year old straight, healthy man being projected as some one who was never attracted to any girl. that is pretty much a straight up BS.

Thats why I say most ML's in cdramas are fake.

On contrary, I can provide 10 cdramas in last 1 month where FL has that kind of interactions with men other than ML.

Kdramas are little better but have progressively getting similar to cdramas in projecting ML.

Neither in modern, nor in historical dramas, the men.....dont smell right.

The FL's on other hand, in many dramas are sexually OK. Not really there in terms of reality but you do see FL's seeing an attractive man and having positive reaction.

anyway, I would rather discuss the trope in these drama where they show a man does not realize he likes a woman...

men practically have radars that go off when they like a woman.
These radars pretty much scream to the man when they like a woman.
And it's a not subtle indicator. It's a very HARD indicator that a man gets when he likes a woman.
When that radar gives a hard signal, men usually find ways to switch off the siren. Sometimes multiple times a day.

So, yeah, the whole notion that a man does not realize that he likes a woman is kind of BS.

The writers can take liberties on a lot of stuff but reinventing basic biology should not be one.

That 'you like someone but don't realize it' concept only exists in Cdramas and kdramas.

Only boys who just hit puberty and don't have knowledge about birds and bees may not realize when they like a girl,
grown boys and men 100% know when they like a woman. They may not realize they love her but liking a girl is something a man is never confused about.

The drama also shows ML approaching other girl.
Disappointing thing is that the writers crap on that by making ML give crappy theories to FL about why he approached other woman. they should have just left it at ML liking that woman and moving on.

The whole mess is confusing as once again we are in a drama written by someone who has no idea about men.
There is a reason Cdramas never provide POV of any ML but we get POV of FL in every episode. the writers simply are not capable of writing POV of men.
The ML might as well be an alien from another planet. that's how unrelatable they are.

A noble guy in those times would be having dozens of women.
If there was any reality to this drama, the ML would be rolling around in a harem.
I think watching lot of unrealistic cdramas has given us completely wrong picture how men belonging to nobility were like in old times.

the 3 minute snog is what did it. 5 days?...it takes just 3 mins to make a man fall in love with a woman.
Although I think cdrama writers can't write male characters if their life depend on it, in this instance, the writer got it right.

Men have a specific body part that gives them a very sure indicator when they like a woman.
That particular body part would give the man, a very HARD signal when they like a woman.

Only in dramas do you encounter grown men not knowing they like a woman. In real world, every man knows 100% when they like a woman.

Now loving a woman, that's a whole different debate.
but liking a woman, every man on this earth knows for sure whether they like a particular woman or not.

She made an awful confession, assaulted him, stormed off hurt.

Just like a woman has every right to reject a confession, so does a man.
Does not mean the hurt caused by the rejection is something that is caused by the person rejecting the proposal.

Forget apology, The ML did not need to explain anything to FL.

That he even gave an explanation is going too far. after all, are they in relationship?
The apology was cringe as F...what are you even apologizing for? Even if the ML was having one night stand with multiple women, it was none of FL's business and the ML did not owe her explanation, let alone an apology.

Yes, he can make a case for himself and his love towards FL but his past, what ever it is, none of FL's concern.
Unless we are talking about how one should not have a past at all OR may be only the ML should not have a past.

Why are the writers making ML feel guilty? Even if he liked some other woman before the FL, is it a reason for him to feel guilty?
There are dozens of dramas this year alone where the FL liked some other guy and the ML pursues her. Never have these dramas made FL character feel guilty for liking some other man than ML or make the tone of those dramas as if the FL did something wrong. In fact the FL's in these dramas are upfront and open about their previous relationships in front of ML.
Here, it was bit disjointed seeing the writers push for a ML who is somehow trying to explain things. Worse, he does not even have a past & even if he did, it does not concern FL. Just as it is none of ML's business if FL had a past.

There is a current running kdrama where 2ML forces a kiss on FL and it was awful.
The force kiss by FL in this drama should fall in that same category as well. Let's be honest, that was sexual assault.
Imagine if a guy falls in love with a girl and without her consent forces his tongue down her throat...
