Episode 10 was momentous. Her confession leaves her totally vulnerable and ML respects her survival instinct. The affection between HanYan and the injured XiWen is very touching. It looks like the people who have been helping her survive are as damaged as she is. Her mother's words are very wise. Can't wait to see more of these complicated characters.
For those who watch chinese dramas , this is the least. They've gone much further in fantasy in others shows 🤣
I know I was just pointing out the silliness of one little event for fun. I can put up with a lot of this if the drama is otherwise well-written and acted which The Glory certainly is.
Some little things are just to fanciful. How do you make a blade come out of a bracelent when your hands are tied and proceed to cut a thick rope with a tiny sharp object that is flopping around your wrist? Answer that if you can.
After 7 episoes I'm quite drawn into this story. The acting makes it compelling and it looks good. The only little quirk I have is why the FL never takes her clothes off or musses her hair despite being bedridden with smallpox? Also, she's supposed to be 17 at this stage and it's hard to believe she can handle all the conflic that is being thrown at her. I'm hoping there will also be some fun times ahead in her future.
Dramatic drama of abused child/young woman opens but the graphic visuals pan by so quickly as to make me dizzy. The FL does have a complexion liike a the ghost she is accused of being. Her mother is an imperious Cruella and I've never seen a grandmother so lacking any courage to confront her. This family is a nightmare. What to expect from cement-faced ML?
Half the time I can't figure out if she's actually talking or thinking the dialogue. They barely talk above a whisper. Is this dubbed? ML is a nice to look at hero but I don't think this is enough to keep me interested. Love the desert and the camels though
Another rebirth drama. It's not that I haven't liked the odd one but they do get tiresome. This one limps along slowly. At 7 episodes I gave up. The clincher was the bad acting by the ML.
They must be trying to get a third season for this drama given they way they left the ending. I loved the first season and waited anxiously for the second season. The ending has left me not wanting to see any more of these characters. That said, I'm on team Yingzi Both her and Chen Chuo are coming at the legal case from their lived experience so it is quite wrenching to see them deal with these serious life and death issues. What I can't bear is that Chen Chuo has totally given up on his rationality and knowledge that a brain death is not a coma and thus something one might come back from. My feeling is that he is giving up on his relationship with Yingzi while spouting off on how people in love having made a commitment to marriage have to stick together come what may.
I'm on ep 7 and and Yu Qi's 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' acting is getting on my nerves. Generally this drama lacks energy so he really stands out. Also found the sadistic treatment of women unpalatable.
Only one episode to go. I was unpleasantly surprised Chen Shuo decided to go low in the court case to imply the wife was having questinable relationships with other men and looking to turn off life support to her husband to get the insurance money. Surely he knows the difference between brain death and a coma. Pretty despicable. Yingzi seems not to be holding a grudge.
I had to laugh about the miraculous wiping of the symbol from her back through the clothes and string of pearls!…
Oh, this is great information, now I want to read the novel. I wonder if this is the same dog that was Chen Yi's companion in Mysterious Lotus Casebook?
Idk about the rest but you do realize why she's more incline to help the tofu seller right? Her sister set her…
Yes, I'm aware but her sister is likely so traumatized from the brutal treatment that she has no ability to resist this fiend. She needs help from someone. Her sister, who is now a much stronger person should want to help her get out of this situation and not keep blaming her.
Into ep 3 and it's all a bit confusing. She died, is reborn, it's 10 years ago. She got out of a bad marriage? Had a good marriage? She lived in some other country, had no family, became some kind of priestess, and now with incredible herbal acumen is able to wipe the symbol off her back by herself without help from her maid who is standing directly behind her watching as she applies the remedy without removing any clothes or her string of pearls which are in the way. The incriminating symbol is gone in seconds. Miraculous! The men in this drama certainly are no prize, but shouldn't she be motivated to protect her sister from her sadistic husband and not just the tofu sellers daughter? Love the dog, more please.
Love the dog, more please.
