Good revenge drama. The main lead has a believable presence and was a loyal friend and lover. The bad guys were not the most impressive except for the eunuch. Loved his sideshow of singing opera and working the hell out of that taiko. Pretty subdued ending considering this was a taunt story.

My love for historical dramas is such that I'm also very forgiving especially if it features actors I like. I do prefer the longer format though.

Thanks for that. Now I don't have to watch it.

Ep. 6, I love camels and donkeys. Any time a Cdrama has either of them it makes my day.

Just finished ep. 27 and it's a cliffhanger. Zang Hai is getting some of his revenge but it seems to be making him physically ill. Some of the decisions his opponents are making are not making much sense. Between assaulting the palace and pounding the sh*t out of the taiko, the general and the eunuch seem to be in a fit of brain fever. I haven't rated this drama yet and to my mind it's steadily declining quality.

Great drama. Only up to ep 25 but the ML's revenge quest is pretty ruthless and quite a bit of collateral damage.

I came here just to watch Song Wei Long after appreciating him in Youthful Glory. I'm already put off by the claims at the very start that FL has had 8 years of martial arts training when nothing about her body says that this is remotely possible.

That was worth waiting for but I still hate the slow pace of Kdramas. I'm glad they ended up together and have a little munchkin to show for it. The King deserves to find love again. Speaking of Kim Ye Hoon he was the best thing about this drama. His acting range is superb. I head that the drama only used about 30 percent of all the scenes he filmes and that is a downright shame.

He definitely outshone the male lead both in looks and acting ability.

My review is below. I just want to mention what really annoyed me. While most of the costumes were attractive and suitable to the events, the outfits worn by the officials at court were so voluminous as to look totally absurd. Whoever let that happen needs to be laughed out of court.

This was a very satisfying drama. Good storyline and production values. The characters were well fleshed out and the romances were enjoyable. There were enough villains and action to please those of us who don't just want everything sugar-coated.

You could fast forward them, but I would advise future watcher to give these couples a chance to worm their way into their hearts like they managed to do to each other.

I knew there was more to Mr. Wen than meets the eye. It looks like he has the hots for Tan. The four mousequeteers are table-tied but not tonque-tied driving their jailer to distraction. The general, in sheeps' clothing, has come to the gate to take the stuffing out of the predator on the rampard. Tan's eyes are falling out of her sockets.

Ep. 27 and getting to the end of this enjoyable drama. Our leads have been busy downing some of the participants of the Su conspiracy, but the big fish remains. Talking about big fish, at the start of this episode he is floundering in his koi pool after his rustic home is dismantles and his daughter is about to stop breathing. Minmin is getting seriously wooed by the guy with the fan and Tan is joyfully in tune with the flawless man of the hour. Speaking of our hero, he gives her a treasured guqin of which she is a virtuoso and we don't hear a single note just some banal love song played over top of it. How disappointing. But all is not lost as they finally lock lips and clasp hands and there is fireworks.

Ep. 23 Where is all this business with Mr. Wen supposed to lead to? Xu is truly boring when all he does is drink and slobber over his wife's actions. The Su family is still rich and in control...

If it wasn't for Xu I would give up but he's been so steadfast, loyal, caring to her. All that and brave and smart in getting that 'godfather' to slip up.

Ep. 19 Ok, things are looking up except I can't figure our why Tan's face is so white it looks like she's using flour for make-up. Lot of coupling going on here, the chicken lady is melting at the sight of a bunch of fireflies and Minmin is having to watch herself being the joke in a play.

Ep. 16,17, 18 This estrangement is going on much too long. I'm not enjoying this drama any more.

I feel you. It's so sad that all Xu can do is get plastered.
