I'm watching the early 20s episodes and really enjoying the leads' relationship especially those tet-a-tets in bed. Fathead Tang's cowardice is getting on my nerves. Not much of this make any sense but I'm really enjoying the scenery, music and acting in the drama.
Finally over. Don't have to try and puzzle out what people could possibly mean other than from their expression and body movement. Only watched this for Chen Xiao's partisipation but found other actors didn't do a bad job.
Just watched a Youtube clip of and interview with main leads where they review some of their roles and they showed an underwater kissing scene where he rescues her. I don't remember any kissing scenes especially not that one. Where were the kissing scenes? Please help.
I just finished ep 34 and every episode I want to come here and say that pale faced SuYi is such a cow, but how often can you repeat yourself even if it's true. Oh yeah, and her fashion sense leaves a lot to be desired.
I stuck with it until the bittersweet end. The only energy in this drama came from the female official and the Princess. The male characters were mostly listless. I waited for 40 episodes to see if Lord Ding could find his young beloved's mouth. All in all this May/December romance was a bit of a slog. The Princess' high-minded goals were undermined by her quest for power. Along the way she managed to skewer the two men who loved her. The young Emperor suffered from an unrequited crush. Now he has a handsome young general so there's still hope for a bosom buddy alliance.
On the home stretch with last three episodes to go. That Emperor certainly is a dimwit. He is being emotionally jerked around by the minions of the Princess. That Jing Hong has shown no loyalty to him or to his classmate/friend MZH. Given all he knows his love interest, the Princess, has done including being responsible for the killing of 30,000 soldiers that's pretty cold. Lord Ding is always in slo-mo which can really get annoying and his young official is pretty ineffective in this fight for survival.
I'm coming to the last six or so episodes but that Princess is so odious that I can hardly watch her anymore. Who will be able to stand up to this manipulator-in-chief? Shen's adoration makes him weak, Ding is physically weak and Zuoahua has no guile to deal with such deception and evil.

Only up to ep 31 and Princess is in full attack mode and has dragged Jing Hong along with her when here I thought he was finally going to have a 'good guy' role. Now they are going after Zhuohua and Lord Ding's sweet relationship. Good luck with that.
That clowning episodes was very touching. Chen Xiao is an incredibly talented actor. Love her comments at the end of ep. 24 'you're nouveau riche tail is showing'. Also find the newly divorced 'sister's' playful romance delightful.
Marital bliss it's not. Even the lantern festival is this drama leaves a lot to be desired. Little dislikable brother looks lonely and dejected but has time to figure out the presciption, but who is it intended for?
