Ep. 17 It's good to see lots of action again. The Wei widows were on a tear. The Song brothers did their bit. Gu Shu Cheng lives to see another day and can bring a traitor to justice. The Princess is finally admitting to being smitten with her little male kitten. Yu and Yun fought off the hordes only to end up at the bottom of a cliff (it's always the same cliff in all the dramas) with Yun having a broken part and Yu with a broken heart. Looks like there's a little flickering flame to keep him warm.

Just watched the latest episodes and Chu Yu looks so much more mature (their 8 year actual age difference really shows) than Wei Yun but doesn't act mature in some of her actions. She's on a serious quest to right some wrongs so should be a lot more aware of just how dangerous this is for both families. Wei Yun looks authentic in playing the young master who is very naive where romance is concerned. Chu Cheng still has the hots for her, but I don't trust that he will remain loyal. Sad the promising little romance between Tuantuan is fading fast. The other one between Yu sister and her suitor is just fluff.

I know it might be meandering along a bit, but I'm happy spending time with these leads. She's smart and adventurous and he's a little naive but no doubt capable. The budding romance between TuanTuan and her elder brother is really sweet. Her sister is such a jealous sourpus but she has an admirer so maybe she will chill out. The eldest Princess has her own thing going on which looks a little precarious. Finally Gu ChuCheng is still besotted with Chu Yu, so will he survive?

ep. 4. It always bugs me that in all these dramas the crowd in the street can turn on a dime. One minute there yelling and throwing vegetable at the victim and the next minute they they support them against the accusers. Wei Yun has lost everyone except the women in his family and is now at the mercy of that cackling torturer Cao. I need a little relief from this dour turn of events.

What's wrong with giving an honest assessment of what you see in the drama you're watching. This is why I come to read the opion of others.

Ep. 3 I hate dramas that kill of their best and brightest at the beginning. Eldest brother Wei was extremely pleasing and I don't blame Chu Yu to be attracted. I like my heroes mature. It's apparent the Crown Prince is incompetend and a liar and has enablers at court. His Majesty is pondering what is true but he has a cough so likely not long for this world. Who is the spy? The Duke of Ning? Why is he encouraging that the Wei generals should be investigated? The widow has arrived. Youngest brother gives her the doomsday stare.

I was waiting for her conversion to human form and here it happens in Ep. 3. I will now stop watching this. The voice actors they have chosen for these main characters are not tolerable to my ears.

Was going to watch this, but the introduction seems to give away all the good parts of the drama.

I'm on ep 26 and have come to know the elderly concubine Jing is a real piece of work. That new concubine must have gotten that face from spending too much time with those horses. It's not looking good for Ling Yun and her 'brother'. Ok, I finished it. This drama was obviously done on the cheap and the ending of the story with all its previous dynasty revelations and a smallpox epidemic was laying it on pretty thick. They made it out of the palace so I guess that means a happy ending.

Just halfway through, but it shouldn't take long to finish this drama. FL is certainly a handful. They are hinting that ML and her have a history and he is aware of it. Is she? Haven't seen the ML in any drama before. I find the emperor more lively but I guess he's just a stepping stone on her revenge quest. I'm not really that fond of stories of harem intrique and cruelty just got stuck in this drama somehow.

Just started this and have never seen a drama with so many maids getting it on with eunuchs. Aren't eunuch supposed to have problems performing due to the physical changes that makes them eunuchs?

Well I watched the whole thing except ep. 28 was missing so I don't know how Lin Yan got so badly wounded. Anyway I don't like the way it showed him agonizingly live his long life alone with everyone thinking he's gone batty. Then it reverts to modern times and Shoaguang looks ratty as she tries to hang on to her memories. Meeting a young version of Lin Yan at his old mansion at the very last few moments of the drama is just not good enough after investing so much emotion in this relationship. What is it with script writer just not knowing how to do their characters justice. Did the production run out of money? According to regulations they could have filmed 8 more episodes. With a better ending I would have given this a much higher score.

I alwasy enjoy cooking competitions in dramas. It's great the family came together at the end of it. The time spent on the FL's brother's story is mostly a downer for me. I want to zip through it but the other characters are so lovable that I don't want to miss them. The spy sent by the Prince also succumed to the family's charms and became ineffective. Lin Yan is his usual capable self with a soft heart. Just when are these two going to get a little smooch?

He has no morals but the Princess manages to get under his skin. His nemesis, Jingshi, has no morals either as she finally realizes.

I'm still sticking with it even though it become too repetitive. The parents and the brother are unlikable so I skip through a lot of their screen time. Love Lin Yan and Yangyang the most. The female lead is doing a good job with her innovative smarts and likable personality. I don't like how she is treating Lin Yan and would think she would be smart enough to find a way around whatever the impediments are to their happiness. The Princess is another interesting character but totally wasted on that wishy washy Pei Fei. Waiting to see if there will be retribution for the characters who harmed Lin Yan's family. I'm hoping for a happy ending for the good 'guys'.

Well, it's done and dusted and I'm tryint to decide what rating to give. Was it perfect or near perfect? The ending had much red blood, black blood and bad blood flowing. Sharp objects piercing everything left and right. Hard done by Jingshi showed that living a tortured life does not enoble anyone. The from enemies to lovers couple looked sublime and sanguice at the end. There are different than expected people on throne. Who knows how that will work out? Great work by all involved. The production from costumes to sets was sublime. The action immense. The actors and writers gave us much pleasure. Sequel?

You're right. When I look at his past dramas I realize I've watched most of them but he seems to have been able to inhabit different characters that I didn't notice they were this particular actor. Good job.

I don't remember the details, but it seems that neither his sister (the Princess) nor the new Emperor are convinced Suige is dead. By the way the young naive version of him has been replaced by a much more savy version. We've got six episodes to go and a lot of revenge to deal out.
