They are too strict

Yeah I started from korean to japanese then to Chinese and by far, Chinese cut out the most and sometimes the story makes 0 sense and I cannot get attached to characters at all because it's missing half the story lol

She actually did really good in lbfad. Depends if you watched it till the end because her character really grows into a mature girl. If you only watched a few starting episodes, I understand why you might think she cannot act but her character is supposed to be ignorant and kind of a baby fairy. Later on she really nailed the mature Orchid. Dylan did well but also he did well because he had a perfect voice actor to suit his acting. Bao Shun did perfectly to convey what Didi was acting out. I didn't call you sexist. I am just saying that many praise Dylan's success and ignore the voice actors contribution to his character while people scold Esther and they didn't even bother finishing the drama to see her mature acting and side. Also she actually voiced her own drama which I think should be praised.

Or some actors just act so well but the plot is so disappointing :(

The fact that in America, they need over a year to finish a single tv show and in China they rush it in 5 months and then it gets cut in half, censored. No wonder their actors cannot always give 100%.

Yes that's why I say we cannot compare her to other actresses who started as actresses. Esther is growing slowly and improving with every tv show, she usually picks the roles that suit her and I think she's slowly getting the fame she deserves. Dylan Wang as well wasn't perfect in Meteor Garden, Chinese fans hated it but he still got to act in lbfad? Yet nobody asks "How did he get the role but only Esther is the question?" Isn't that a bit sexist?
The producers probably knew they fit the roles despite both being very new to acting and not having a lot of experience and they managed to do it perfectly. Many actors and actresses just got the roles by looking good. It's normal. What matters is that at least they are trying and improving with every show. I see that in Esther and that's what I appreciate. She picks the roles that suit her. It's totally understandable why she has a huge fanbase if you watch some of her variety shows and she was lucky they gave her a huge push to the top. And even if the investment rumor is true, let's say she paid for lbfad, lbfad gained so much success and no amount of money could've made it one of the best dramas ever made if she didn't do a good job, but she did which is why it is so famous. Like I said. Money cannot earn you fans, can only pay for material things.

I am saying she's the best actress because I don't care about any of the stats. Zhao Lusi has played in different genres unlike other actresses and proved that she can execute any role perfectly and especially recently with Pearl Girl. I talk about acting which would pass even under Hollywood's spotlight. That is why I say Zhao Lusi is top one actress. Numbers I don't care about. Some actresses have so much fame but cannot act at all.

I wish one day people made so many assumptions as you did about Esther so you can feel how it sounds when people just make up lies about you. What's sad is that you did not even try to google about how Esther got to fame. But here I'll teach you. Sure her money got her roles but no matter how rich she is, she cannot buy fans. It's a fact.

Esther's success was youth with you where she despite not being as talented as other girls, she was a girls girl, supported others and was more of a clown and a comedian. She gained popularity due to her memes and jokes. She's basically a variety show star which helped her become famous as an actress. That's literally how she got fame and which is why she's slowly improving as an actress, because she was originally an entertainer.

Now that you learned that I hope that you will be more gentle with your words and not spill lies as you would not feel good if others did the same about you.

The videos are obviously showing her barely being able to walk, not talking and eating in a very unusual way. My father has suffered a stroke a week ago and has been acting the same. I can't believe some people are calling it "depression" and see an assumption that she had a stroke as a bad thing?
If anything we are all hoping she gets better and is able to recover fully.
Whether the person is or isn't her friend doesn't matter here. This just cannot be depression and whoever things like that needs to take time and read something about it before spilling things like this on the internet.

First time I watched Zhao Lusi I could immediately see how amazing she is and I love how she can act in any drama and still do a good job. I definitely understand the hype around her.

The thing with Esther too since I followed her since her youth with you days. She has worked hard to get where she is now. Yes she is rich but that money did not help her achieve all the love of her fans. She mostly became famous due to her unique personality which is usually the same unique character in the drama which is why many people don't understand why she is so liked as an actress. People just feel good watching her TV shows because they know they'll laugh a lot and I do too but she definitely needs to improve too and that's fine. I like Zhao Lusi in more serious things like Pearl Girl and Esther in a xianxia but that's my preference and I believe it is their strength but Esther is usually known to getting hate and it is a bit sad because sure Zhao Lusi might get hate but nobody can tell her a thing. She proves herself with every drama she comes out with. So why the anger? Esther cannot even speak. All of her hate comments are about her voice and how they cannot stand her. They don't even give her a chance to act because they already slander her for such a minor thing.

The only good fanbase is Liu Yuning's because he always scolds his fans for being mean to other actresses and I wish more celebrities were open about protecting each other and did not just stop talking because of immature people.

I agree so much. I thought it would reach the heights of lbfad as they share the same screenwriter but something went wrong along the way however I still feel like it's an enjoyable watch but it had so much potential to be life changing.

I know many hate sad endings but I think this drama needed a sad ending. This drama isn't really about love for me. Yes, their love is a big part of it but the drama is truly about DuanWu. When she joins the ship, ZiJing sees potential in her but her kindness and gullible personality was something she had to leave behind in such a cruel world. ZiJing understands that and is tough on her in order to make her realize that nothing in life will come easy and that people are not just going to hand her the things she seeks and most importantly, that they don't always have good intentions and speak the truth. This story is about her journey of determination to free herself and those she loves even if it means losing her life. He sees that in her and lends her a hand in teaching her how to play her cards right to achieve what she wants and she does exactly that. He did leave but he did not leave her empty handed. She has his knowledge and his strength to protect what's hers and those she cares about. So this drama isn't about love for me. It is about reality of the cruel world and it is on us to either give up or see bad experiences as a way to learn and improve.

Everything. Diving, the ship, the towns .It is breathtaking.

Just finished it finally and I'm obsessed! What a refreshing plotline, Zhao Lusi did an amazing job, I truly felt her pain along the way and Liu Yuning really made me feel like he truly loved her with his everything. Just wonderful. Can we bring more pirate like, sea dramas? This show really stood out from the rest.

Honestly I love both equally because I watch their variety shows too and tbh they are the best in their own genres. Some roles of theirs cannot be replaced no matter if you put someone else. I think that's why to me they are both amazing. They are irreplaceable and came out with some of my favourite Chinese dramas.

I just want people to congratulate each other when sometimes one does better than the other. There's nothing ugly in that. Nobody is perfect all the time truly. But that depends on what kind of a fan are you. I'm very objective. Some works of theirs I might even dislike but just because I don't find it well written. Again nothing wrong with that.
I just don't understand this obsession. It's a bit wild to be obsessed by a living human.
