I don't plan on changing your mind, I just wanted to give you a clear insight in things you did not understand. You were incorrect with the "love interest that drags on" because it ended at like episode 8. You are probably either very young or not very good at reading face expressions that gave away so many things early on in the show but everyone has their opinion and that's fine. And I disagree that the drama has high rating due to Dylan Wang and I think it is quite rude of you to ignore the efforts of the whole cast and especially Dylan's Wang voice actor who did 50% of the job that everyone seems to ignore. But don't worry, I am not here to force you to change your opinion. I just wanted to correct the things you did not understand in the show. I hope you find something more enjoyable to watch.

I read this manhua and the first 90 chapters are amazing then it turns into one of the dirtiest manhua's I've ever read and dropped it. Characters just changed suddenly and it became a smut. Not a fan! Since the screenwriter is the same as in Love Between Fairy and Devil I'm sure they will do a proper job and make it lovely and innocent.

Orchid kissed Dongfang before yet in episode 8 she kisses him and then gets all awkward after the kiss which is basically indicating she likes him. Read body language. Then in episode 13 she literally KISSES him to save him even though she could've killed Dongfang with Changheng but decided not to. It is so obvious she did it because she has feelings for Dongfang. And of course she talks about Changeng and wants to save him is because HE is still a friend people. Why do you think it's okay to be okay with her friend dying and because of that he still must be a love interest? Dongfang wants to kill him at every moment lol

Her love interest towards Changheng ended on episode 13 when she kisses Dongfang and says "Could it be.... (she thinks she feels something for him) then goes, No way, he's Moon Supreme" , she doubts herself because he's an enemy of her people, common sense.

and Orchid grows into a beautiful and mature woman who understands her man's sacrifice later in the story and talks with a normal voice because before she was a sheltered baby fairy, living alone with no real friends or parent figure. It's not a waste of time. The story is more realistic because they are both empty shells at first and then they both grow mentally if you are patient. If you don't like it you don't like it , it's understandable but sadly so many things went over you head it's a shame.

In ep 8, she's already moved on from God of War. The only reason she yapps about him is because she is HIS friend and he is the reason she was even born which she often states and Dongfang wants to kill him so of course she will protect him. It's not even love. Mutual love starts very early you just couldn't read it on her face. The moment she's crying and he comforts her she goes "If you keep talking like that I might start believing you" and when he kisses her under water and she feels awkward despite not feeling it kissing him before, she already feels something else for him which is why she saves him soon after. This drama has a lot more moments you need to be able to read into their words and facial expressions to understand, it doesn't really spell it out for you. Also the meaning behind him kneeling down when she cries to wipe her tears despite being Moon Supreme, a man who doesn't bow to anyone, is a huge detail as well and it happens so early too so please don't mislead new viewers over things you couldn't comprehend!

She grows and helps him overcome his hatred towards his father, fixes things with his immature brother, and helps him find friends he never had.

And she, who never had parents is loved unconditionally, protected and cherished. She learns to understand war and the struggles of his people and chooses not to hate him for his choice.

It's such a beautiful portrayal of love that it sometimes makes me sad people cannot see more than that but what can you do, we are all different. The love starts way earlier than most dramas and the drama starts getting better at episode 9. Hope that helps clear the things you misunderstood.

I disagree with both of you. I have seen so many fantasy dramas where they will do the impossible just to have a happy ending and keep the fans happy and I am genuinely tired of bending the plot so some fans can feel satisfaction.

This tv show is trying to also show some realism. "She didn't even try" ," The male lead didn't even try." The male lead tried many times and asked her to run away with him earlier and she, as the time went on understood that palace isn't a place to play around and that it isn't that easy. And one must understand that after seeing her best friend die by her lover's hands, seeing the other prince and his wife die in front of her own eyes, one loses hope to live and she, realistically loses her spark. Not everything is about " love wins all" because love doesn't always win on its own. There needs to be mutual respect, trust, communication and based on the events they went through it is only understandable they lack so much. I feel like many miss that point just because of their preference of dramas that don't even try to be realistic with their characterization. Both characters grew according to the external factors. As much as I hated the male lead towards the end, it just proved us what power does to you. The show was never only about love but as the tags say

Goryeo Dynasty, Rivalry, Smart Male Lead, Love/Hate Relationship

Also I am not trying to fight but I truly believe people need to see past a happy ending and try
to understand it from a critical standpoint and as a human. And when this came out, tragedies weren't that popular with kdramas which is why it left such a huge impact. Only lately I believe.

All I can say is that you will learn a lot about healthy love and importance of mutual respect and friendship. I have watched dramas for more that 15 years and this was the only show that has taught me genuine love. The characters might seem immature at first but they all get to grow and learn more about themselves and the ones they care about.

It is because the main character from Sword and Fairy 6 game sounds like that. It is an adaptation of the game.

They actually don't have access to this page at all. I talk to my Chinese friend a lot and he always says he doesn't have youtube nor any of the sites we do and he has to use vpn but he's one of the rare ones which is why you won't ever see them outside chinese sites as much.

I think liking this show is okay if you are aware of what's wrong in it. I think you can enjoy the show and still like parts of it but not agree with how certain things are executed.

The problem isn't in her not redeeming herself. I think that somewhat fixed the dramas. The problem was that the romance was too vague with no actual bonding at the start that so people couldn't get into them as a couple at all I guess? It feels like a lustful love rather than an honest one?

I think we should end it here but take my advice into consideration. It is not in a bad faith but it really might cause a lot of fights if you keep doing what you do with people you genuinely care about.
