I know many hate sad endings but I think this drama needed a sad ending. This drama isn't really about love for me. Yes, their love is a big part of it but the drama is truly about DuanWu. When she joins the ship, ZiJing sees potential in her but her kindness and gullible personality was something she had to leave behind in such a cruel world. ZiJing understands that and is tough on her in order to make her realize that nothing in life will come easy and that people are not just going to hand her the things she seeks and most importantly, that they don't always have good intentions and speak the truth. This story is about her journey of determination to free herself and those she loves even if it means losing her life. He sees that in her and lends her a hand in teaching her how to play her cards right to achieve what she wants and she does exactly that. He did leave but he did not leave her empty handed. She has his knowledge and his strength to protect what's hers and those she cares about. So this drama isn't about love for me. It is about reality of the cruel world and it is on us to either give up or see bad experiences as a way to learn and improve.

Everything. Diving, the ship, the towns .It is breathtaking.

Just finished it finally and I'm obsessed! What a refreshing plotline, Zhao Lusi did an amazing job, I truly felt her pain along the way and Liu Yuning really made me feel like he truly loved her with his everything. Just wonderful. Can we bring more pirate like, sea dramas? This show really stood out from the rest.

Honestly I love both equally because I watch their variety shows too and tbh they are the best in their own genres. Some roles of theirs cannot be replaced no matter if you put someone else. I think that's why to me they are both amazing. They are irreplaceable and came out with some of my favourite Chinese dramas.

I just want people to congratulate each other when sometimes one does better than the other. There's nothing ugly in that. Nobody is perfect all the time truly. But that depends on what kind of a fan are you. I'm very objective. Some works of theirs I might even dislike but just because I don't find it well written. Again nothing wrong with that.
I just don't understand this obsession. It's a bit wild to be obsessed by a living human.

Imagine if you hated a whole country if one person from it committed a crime. This is how your comment sounds. I'm sorry but please don't put all fans in the same basket and give it a chance. You wouldn't wanna be judged the same way right?

Look if you truly wanna talk about vegetables, sure. Zhao Lusi gets a lot of hate but not on kisskh, here she gets more love and appreciation. She's top one actress in China and even international fans love her. It's only fair. She has skills to support it.

Esther's international fans are very peaceful as Esther herself promotes self love, girls supporting girls and many times she has given up a role if she thought it suited someone else, however her Chinese fans really cross a line and are too obsessive and can do crazy things. Is that what you want to hear?

I'd say the same thing If I saw Esther's fan say horrible words to Lusi on this article but I havent for now.

I am a fan of Zhao Lusi, I watch all of her shows support her. I'm not obsessed with every second of her life.

I agree. I know how bad they can be but this is My Drama List. You'd expect people would be more objective here and maybe have a more healthy approach of being a fan but seems like toxicity carries even here.

I've pointed out what I've seen here and instead of telling me things, take my advice and tell them them not to speak about Esther in that way but you won't because you yourself called her fandom filthy.

I'd protect Zhao Lusi any time. But that has nothing to do with whose fandom is better. It has to do with being a healthy human being who can communicate without throwing nasty words.

What an outstanding performance by Park Shin Ye. I enjoyed her acting and character.

The story of this show left me with a sense of dissatisfaction, not due to the storyline itself, but rather its execution. The most glaring issue lies in the portrayal of the female protagonist’s relationships. Throughout the series, it seems like she was only ever honest with XL, revealing her flaws and vulnerabilities in a way that she never does with the man she ultimately ends up with.

The climax of the series, marked by XL’s death, is particularly problematic. The female protagonist’s reaction to his death is disturbingly distasteful. After barely having screen time in the second season, the show ends with a big, dramatic death, that feels like a disservice to his character and the audience. The pacing of the drama, the uneven development of characters, and the inconsistent screen time feels poorly constructed.

I loved characters I didn't expect to love and disliked those that were written to be loved. Instead of supporting the female character I often found myself angry at her choices and words. Often times they'd be consistent but then have a change of character, making it hard to become attached to them.

Objectively, it is a refreshing story, but with many flaws.

After watching this show, they lost me forever.

I wish people were patient for Orchid. Her only sin was loving an enemy and she still put him, his burden and his own people before anyone else. Please be patient for her growth <3

At the start she is a baby fairy without parents or friends. Later on she grows to become a mature woman, using her mature voice. The tv show is mostly about growth. She grows more mature and he grows into a loving man.

At the start of the show she is a baby fairy with no friends. As the story progresses she changes into a mature fairy and her voice changes to a more mature voice and by the end she grows into a beautiful mature lady. If you can be patient I'm sure you will love her.

Also Dylan Wang acting was amazing but it was supported by the amazing voice actor by the name of Wang Baoshun who did 50% work while Esther Yu voiced her character herself according to the story.

Don't worry, she only talks like that at the start because she is a baby fairy, she grows and her voice changes along the way and becomes much more serious. If you can be patient, I'm sure you'll love it. She also has a show called Journey to You where she speaks with her normal voice and is a love partner with the second lead of this tv show. Good luck!
