First review for this drama and this sentence tells exactly how I feel after finishing it:
"It's trying so hard to be Twinkling Watermelon without attempting to do any of the heavy lifting."

It is not a bad drama by any means, but beginning suggested something completely else just to quickly transform into standard rom-com. This is not bad in itself, it is just a somehow wasted potential. It is a little bit dragging in the last 4-5 episodes.

Overall above mid enjoyable rom-com, but not something I will be coming back to.

Beginning in the space capsule is really not the greatest start. It is a space mission and ML behaving like he is first time there with no training etc. He would have had to undergo multiple weeks or months of extensive training. See Polaris Dawn mission and how they have been preparing for it and how the actual start looked like. Nobody would allow him near the capsule if he would behave like that. Not to mention there is no ground support personel.

As a space nerd I was anticipating this drama a lot, but I just couldn't go past 10 minutes of the first episode. Will try again soon, but it is not a good start and I'm disappointed.

it was a solid 8-9/10 series up until the end of episode 5. The last 3 episodes just made it so much worse. Why did they need to change the direction of the plot this way. I don't get it. And the big fight in the last episode is such unrealistic that suddenly from somehow realistic production, we are somehow dragged in into "action hero" kind of thing, which is ridiculous. Still it was fun to watch, thankfully it is only 8 episodes long, so most of this series is very good.

I know we are waiting for last (?) episode to drop with eng subs, but I must say, for me who don't watch reality shows and any kind of "reality scripted" shows, and find them boring and cringe, this one is very entertaining to watch. The struggle is real, and it shows the amount of work each of the participants put into that endeavor. It was annoying at the beginning but now I actually appreciate it, I'm glad they've chosen one person who couldn't swim and one afraid of riding bicycles. I hope this gives some people a nudge to try themselves (if they think they are "too old to try" or whatever other reason they might have).
I was just expecting to check first episode, but ended up liking it more than I though I would. And now even results doesn't matter for me. I hope they did fine in the competition, but it is not that important.

Is there an episode where they go through fitting them for the bikes?Honestly watching them ride is worrying me,…
Nope, there is no episode about fitting anything, but I wouldn't worry, they are most likely being taken care of by professionals. My gut feeling says that their seats were exactly where it was comfortable for them :)

I have troubles finishing this show. FL is great but ML is so annoying and pathetic. I get it that he has issues with the killing part, but just saying "we will find a different way" and not doing a f* thing? What did he expect, that Izzy will just wait for her to be killed? And ML's inability to grasp that if she dies he dies. How hard is it to understand, that his life is on the line too? I would be ready to kill more than 5 people if my life was on the line, just saying :)
2 episodes to go, thankfully they are not that long, but I see already that this will need a season 2.

Have you seen the post credit scene ?? I wasn't expecting a season 3 until I saw it and now it's more likely we'll…
I don't believe, from economic point of view, that we will ever see any kind of part3. It would be just too expensive. Yes, scene at the end "might" suggest continuation, but also might be a deliberate, open ending to make viewers their own idea what will happen next.

For me ending showed that main lead will be together (albeit not sure with Chae Ok not being immortal, how will it work), and that Seung Jo achieved his goal of not hiding in the dark but release the creature into the world. What comes next it for us to decide. That is my take on the ending.

Like i said at the end of S1, this drama shouldn’t have a follow up season! Season 2 is a cluster fuck, the…
What matter is, some people just enjoyed it for what this series was beside all the flaws. And it is ok. I doubt it will bring more fans to the franchise, rather opposite, but I wouldn't asy it shouldn't have a follow up.

I enjoyed it, and even with all the bad things I can say about it, for me it was a good production with high entertaining value with actors I really like to watch. And sometimes it is exactly what you need :)
On Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 Sep 28, 2024
People saying that there has to be season 3 really don't understand how expensive it would be. There is a lot of unanswered questions, and further stories to tell, but I will be really surprised if there is any kind of continuation.
It is a shame they've only made 7 episodes. Additional 3 episodes would nicely allow to add more depth into this 80 or so years that passed.
For me, things that doesn't make sense:
- Why would Tae Sang work with Lady Maeda in the first place
- Why would Chae Ok not know what happen to Tae Snag? Ok she felt she is dangerous, and decided to keep her distance, , but I would expect her to keep tabs to know what is going on in his life
- The whole Tae Sang <-> Seung Jo relationship is huge wasted potential.

Someone said it earlier her, it seems like writers just drop the ball at some point, as the story starts very strong, but fails to deliver in some aspect towards the end. Main leads carried this season, that is for sure.

Still, really enjoyed it, there was a lot more good (for me) than bad in this production.

If you know even a little bit of Korea's history, you know how it will end. But damn, it stil got me. Beautifully executed story. It is a little bit long, and for whatever reason I couldn't binge it, what I usually do (it took mi over a month to watch it), but it is, mostly, slow paced history that is just great to watch. Beginning is not that promising, and I've almost dropped it, but it gets better the further you go.

Kim Tae Ri knows how to select good scrips, that is for sure, cannot wait for her next project (albeit I'm still afraid to watch 25 21, as everyone says it is a k-trauma material :) )

Definitely a different perspective on things. To me, he's just genuinely attentive toward her and super conscious…
I understand what they (writers) were going for and honestly I'm happy that most people perceived it this way, this means it was mostly successful. I was just saying it from my perspective that for me it was a little bit too much. And I get it that I might be in the minoryty, I don't have a problem with that :)

I wouldn't finish it if I wouldn't enjoy it. I'm just saying that ML character was, for me, the weakest part of this show.
On Amidst a Snowstorm of Love Apr 15, 2024
It requires some patience to watch and overall it is not a bad drama I just find behavior of ML very annoying. I understand he tries to be a gentelman, but in many cases, at least in my eyes, it is just him trying to "force his way". Don't get me wrong, it is no all the time, but in the first half of the drama, there are plenty of scenes where I would perceived his behavior in negative way. And what I mean exactly:
- He always must be the one to call a taxi (Why? Is she unable to do it for her? I get it at the beginning, when you try to score the points but not all the times)
- He always must pay for everything (Again, fine at the beginning. Not so much later).
- He treats FL as a child that cannot take care of herself (Sorry, you need to get lost, and make mistakes on your own to grow)
- He focuses on money aspect too much. At some point I thought we are over this topic, and he was doing the thing he was planning, but then he gives FL credit card as a present? What a dumb idea.

Also, I'm not the fan of the actor who plays ML so i might be biased (albeit in LLTG he fit perfectly, but character was written way better).

Overall I really liked FL and all the supportive character, but final score was unfortunately Impacted in a heavy way by a behavior of ML. I would like to see the whole episode of "3 year after", not just last 5 minutes in last episode.

But as people say, there is a lot of fluff and cute and heartwarming scenes between the leads, so if you ignore ML behavior part (or it doesn't bother you at all), then it will be probably couple points higher.

I don't feel like I've wasted time watching, it is one of those "could have been much better if only..." situation :)

I have mixed feelings about this drama. It would be good if either it lasted for 10 episodes or story culmination (which for me already happened in episode 9-10) would happen closer to 12-14th episode. Now the story is just dragging a lot. last 4 episodes have maybe 30 minutes of interesting "material". It is a shame, as it would be very satisfactory drama, but it is probably going to end as slightly above average for me.

idk, don't get me but I really don't like HP1, I tried so hard to watch it and barely pass ep 3. That was so boring…
I can get that. In HP1 and 2 each episode is like 90 minutes if I remember correctly. Usually I binge watch TV series, but that was one of those that probably took me a month or so to finish. Still I really liked how the friendship between main characters has been portrayed. It was a very, very, very slow burn drama and somewhere in the middle I didn't think I will finish it, but I'm glad I did. Don't want to convince you or anything, but maybe there will be a time HP will be exactly what you need :D
On Twinkling Watermelon Feb 26, 2024
It was emotional, characters were great, story in most times made sense and what is important, they didn't dwell deep into time travel intricacies too much which I think for the kind of genre this drama is, was a great choice. And the ending was actually good, maybe not the best it could be, but still good.

Two main complains:
1) First 2 episodes and introduction of characters and "setting the scene" is a mess. I don't know if they were doing some test screenings but whomever edited the beginning made a very poor job. I dropped this series twice previously (in Dec and Jan) as I couldn't pass those episodes.
2) Ending when they are back in "the present", should be longer. Maybe even as a full episode. In time travel dramas and movies, I always look into how all those changes in the past impacted all characters. We have some, which is good, but almost completely ignoring Choi Se Kyeong and On Eun Yu was surprising. Because of that complain, I'll probably never re-watch it as there is no proper "award" waiting at the end. I whish there was some special episode that would address it.

Solid 8.5 from me. Great healing story, touching some serious issues with satisfactory resolution at the end.

I recommend to anyone that can ignore, time travel paradoxes. If you cannot, then don't even bother starting it :)

It would be so good "healing story" but they've added to many dark parts like murders, mental issues etc. that…
The whole murder plot (or rather multiple murders) was dumb. And the way FL and ML "solved" it was even more stupid this is the biggest reason for me scoring it way lower than it could have been.

There was no romantic chemistry between main leads but there is not even a single kiss or really romantic interaction between them so that is completely fine. I like how their relationship has been portrayed. They seem comfortable with each other and that is as much as drama shows. Yes, the last scene suggest getting together, but maybe neither of them is cut for romantic relationship and they will just remain close friends.

It would really be great drama if not for a murder sub-plot. This literally ruined the whole watching experience in a significant way.

Nevertheless, the last 20 minutes when FL decides to stay, work park time and just enjoy her life was a very satisfying ending which i didn't expect starting the last episode.

And at the end, I don't know if FL or Bom is more tragic character, but they would win some prizes in the "how my life is a mess" contest :)
On Summer Strike Feb 20, 2024
It would be so good "healing story" but they've added to many dark parts like murders, mental issues etc. that it lost its charm from the beginning. There is also too little screentime for the other city habitants and city as a whole (something similar to what Hometown Cha Cha Cha or Welcome to Samdal-ri did).

I'm on episode 7 and still enjoy it, but it is way heavier and darker than I thought it would be judging from the drama summary here.

Update: I've finished it and unfortunately I'm not that happy with the second part of the drama but i liked the ending. Some spoilers in the comment below.
On A Shop for Killers Feb 13, 2024
I finished this one a week ago and needed to sleep on the whole story, ending and editing.

It was sooooo good, but not without faults, the biggest one being the release schedule. I think this form of story telling would be much better when binged either at once or maybe in 2 sessions.

I really liked the ending and I hope there won't be another season unless they have a solid idea on where they want to go with it.

The biggest issue I have is repeating the same scenes from different angles. I meant, it is fun if you don't overdo it, but when half of the first episode is repeated later on in episode 3 or 4 it just felt wrong and boring. As someone said earlier in the comments, what works in games, doesn't necessary works in movie format. It would be better if those "different angles" scenes where much shorter.

But that is it. I liked everything else. Action scenes were superb. KHJ performance was great (I didn't see any other drama with her being a FL, I'll for sure check soem out). LDW was also great, but that is a given. And obviously actors playing Minhe and Pasin, as secondary characters, absolutely stole many of the scenes. I hope to see either of them in another, action packed, projects really soon.

It started as above average with some good take on depression and "conspiration" in the background. It seems like it will be cliché enemies to lovers story but I hope writers have something more and interesting planned for the whole "surgery accident" sub-story, and depression healing one.
I have my doubts if there is material for 16 episodes, but for now it got me interested enough to keep watching.
