I liked it mainly for the friendship between all 3 women.

The romance was rather meh as it didn't need "happy ending". There is no, to very little, chemistry between FL and ML. In my opinion it was portrayed in a very good way that their view about relationship and marriage are completely different. Which is expected with 10 years age difference. It would be way better if they would split up because of that differences as, from experience, him wanting to marry (an maybe have kids) won't change, as hers don't want to do it (and being basically almost to old to safely have kids at all).

Overall good to watch, but romance part of main leads are skippable for me (both second couples were great), as I identify more with the approach to relationship that FL has at the beginning of the show so her change was something I didn't like.

It was good until it wasn't. Pacing was clearly for 14/16 episodes so last 2 episodes feel rushed. It is a shame as character development was interesting.
-1 point for mother that tagged along at the end. And don't even try to convince me that she didn't and that she will make her own trip, i think it is bs. When you think she will just let her daughter go and maybe use this time to work on her personal life, that would be so perfect. How one stupid scene can ruin the reception of the drama.
Overall it was enjoyable, but ending ruined it significantly for me.

Hi there, we are both on the same page. I started to watch Long Ballad right after LLTG and I can't help but to…
I've just finished WRTW and except last couple episodes and the ending I've enjoyed it a lot. I really liked that there is a lot of "wins" for good guys, but also some serious loses. There is a balance in the story that just kept me invested. Big revelation about FL identity is not surprising in neither of the scenes it is discussed.
Nevertheless I would recommend WRTW, especially fight scenes are top tier, even better than the ones in LLTG.

I've started this immediately after Love Like the Galaxy and there is just no comparison. It was boring, story was all over the place but somehow the whole political debacle didn't interest me at all. The "big revelation" was done way to late to the point I didn't care anymore. And Khan's character was just written badly. Also there is literally zero chemistry between the leads. And the only bright part are second leads and how different princess become after her hardships.

Only watch it if you like any of the lead actors, otherwise it is an easy skip.

As a side note, I'm aware that I must have doomed myself watching this right after LLTG which was superb. Said that I need to postpone "Who Rules the World" as it has some mixed reviews and I don't want to ruin it for myself just by comparing to different drama. Maybe it is time for Gen Z (yes, I'm catching up with Zhao Lusi dramas :) )

Very unrealistic but absolutely blast to watch "feel good drama". I loved the leads and chemistry between them. I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually dating (albeit it has been denied by both).

I didn't like that they've make villain from the sister, it didn't make sense, wasn't explored or explained properly, and led literally nowhere. Except it being a partial, not that important, driver for ML actions it served no purpose whatsoever.

But, the whole part about respecting employees, or not focusing only on money but also on people was a nice touch in the world where only profits are important for stakeholders. Big plus for writers for that. If you like rom-coms with happy endings, this one is absolutely worth watching.

On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 2 Aug 7, 2023
This was one of the best character development in TV series I've seen so far. Not only leads but also supporting ones. This was one of the highlight of this series for me. When you compare behavior from beginning and the end (especially FL), you see they've grown over the 5 years the story portrays. Kudos to all the actors, great job.

But from the things I didn't like, and why it is a half point lower than part 1. I think the ending was rushed a little bit, especially after empress death. I missed mother-daughter scenes in part 2 a lot and the whole "reconciliation" with parents wasn't that satisfying. And "crisis" at the end seems like deus ex machina just to bring leads together in a fast way (I hate bringing characters from death this way). This seems like it should be 60 episodes drama for me.

Still absolutely "must watch" even if you don't enjoy historical dramas. Part 1 mainly for mother-daughter and daughter-emperor scenes. And Part 2 to see character development and how most of them grew over time.

I'm only 6 episodes in, but this daughter-mother relationship is just great. I hope it will be less cold in the future, nevertheless they are so alike. All scenes with them are heartbreaking and funny (both trying to outsmart each other).
But I must say I've screamed to the TV "just hug her", multiple times already :D

On Again My Life Jul 25, 2023
Very average for me. First half kept me interesting, but the further it went the more absurd it got. Like how many crisis can can one person avoid/fix/reflect? It felt very unrealistic and killed the vibe for me."Dating" scene in the last episode was completely not needed. I would prefer if they leave it to the viewers to interpret who/if ML would choose. And from plot perspective it doesn't matter so this could have been easily skipped.

And then the ending itself. Like WTF? Solution to how to defeat main villain was obviously deus ex machina pulled out of the writers ass. It is not that it was bad, it was just out ot of nowhere. And at the end-end of the show, suddenly there are even more powerful people that will be challenge for our "heroes". I choose to ignore last ~10 minutes, but it just left a bad taste to the show that I've struggled to finish.

Overall stretched 6 for me (mainly for the first half), and I recommend only if you are a fan of ML or main antagonist or have a lot of free time.

I need to make smarter decisions on what to watch. There are so many good shows still on my "plan to watch" list.

On The Glory Part 2 Jul 22, 2023
It was very good. As one of the reviews says no regrets, no getting cold feet, no doubt just focus on the goal which is a revenge. And it is written in a believable way.

For me Part 1 was slightly better than Part 2. All revenges were solid except JJJ one which I don't understand why wasn't a focus for Dong like other 4, and the way he ends is just meh. But what happened to Yeon was just beautifully crafted.

Ending was good, but overall I'm not convinced about romance part. I don't think it was necessary and chemistry was lacking. One of the best dramas I've watched.

I've watched 3 episodes but wanted to confirm if it is a happy ending or not (I was in need for some heavy but happy ending story :) ) and man, reviews and comments are brutal. So I jumped to ep 16 and it is really like fantasy part never happened. I hate such "plot twists". If you make your audience feel like they've wasted 15h watching episodes 1-15 then you are a shitty writer.

I know I'm in no position to comment on the whole show, first 3 episodes I've seen were actually very good, but that last episode... I've just quickly skipped though it and yeah, it was enough for me to not waste another 13h on this drama.

One of the very few kdramas I've dropped. Thanks all for warnings in your comments.

Decent but way to stretched in the second half. It would have way better pacing with 12 episodes as around ep8-9 it is just getting too slow.

But overall good production with satisfying ending. There is no need for second season but I would for sure check it out at some point.

A lot of action, some humor, great banters within the team of counters and no romance. But I suspect romance part will change in season 2, still hope it wont.

I'm 11 episodes in and holly fuck there is one abusive/toxic relationship after another. Father and "old" boyfriend of FL are just on another level (husband of the other sister is close behind but he doesn't have enough screen time to be in the same league).

How can anyone allow other people behave like that towards them? Father just wants what is best for his kids, and that is how old people are, they think they matter more then they actually do. For me he was somehow excused until episode 11 but then he crosses the line (meeting with daughter, lying about her wanting to get married).
But the boyfriend is something else, if my sister would have such issues I would be one in cuffs. His friends also don't have balls to tell him that what he is doing is just obsession, not to mention in most countries illegal as it could be considered as stalking (not sure how it works in Korea)

And I thought Nevertheless was about toxic relationship. There is no comparison between the two :)

It is slow paced but I'm enjoying it and most likely will finish it soon. Not sure I would if I wouldn't have extra free time.

Hi, I heard that sang zhis parents are pretty much against their relationship. if that is true, do they interfere…
Age difference and that because what happened to ML family there might be some hardships for FL. Which is basically stupid at this point as all debts are paid, ML has stable job and the only thing left is father in coma which is never presented like an issue, just some remnants of the past.

A lot happens in ep24, it is like a revelation episode for ML but nothing with FL parents.

Just watch it it is worth it.

Hi, I heard that sang zhis parents are pretty much against their relationship. if that is true, do they interfere…
It is not exactly that. Father just says to ML that he and his wife are concerned about their relationship pointing to ML mother, father and "the other family" and ML tires to convince them that he is serious about relationship.

Overall there are like 5 scenes (one after another in the middle of ep23) where ML speaks with father, then FL speaks with both parents and FL decides to go back together with ML, laving home early (with parents not being happy about it).

Then there is a second discussion between ML and parents (in first half of ep25) when he says he is serious about this relationship and parents are generally ok, and explain that they just want what is best for their daughter but they are ok if ML promises he will protect her.

And that is whole "conflict" between ML and FL parents that lasts maybe 20 minutes in the drama over ep23 and ep25. Absolutely unnecessary part for which i must have substracted 1 point from the score as for me such behavior just doesn't make sense.

At first I must say I really liked it. Solid 8 from me.

To be specific why not higher. It was great until ML met FL's father which I didn't like. I know it might be mainly because cultural differences of how in China kids listen to their parents but it didn't add up for me. Who lends 30k to someone that they don't trust? And he returned that money so parents being worried of what kind of person ML is seems to me very out of character, even considering that they've been looking after their daughter. That was the only scene I had problem watching as it was someone replaced characters you know. I know it is very subjective but I cannot change how this scene looked to me.

And then whole ending felt rushed (last 2 episodes). Unless they are planning for season 2, I miss lack of closure for all the secondary characters but that is not the first Chinese drama with such problem (I'm looking at you "Go Ahead").

Nevertheless it is worth watching as the journey is just worth it, and it is beautifully written. Also chemistry between leads is off the chart.

Such a let down after part 1. Those constant dying's and resurrections are beyond ridiculous. Story pacing is way off. 1st half drags a lot and then the ending feels rushed. It is a shame as story itself was quite engaging (the only thing that kept me going).
Chemistry between leads is also off, Xue San Yue and Li Shu were far better to watch in this matter.

Still not a complete failure. Solid 6 from me (meaning above average and enjoyable)

Was it explained why FL was so special? Have I missed this explanation? I know she was able to survive 2 veins, and that alone gave her special powers, but was it explained why? I was hoping she is a daughter of some powerful immortal/god/fairy, or mix of those, but that doesn't seemed to be the case, so what make her special?

Ending is a mess and whole drama is not as good as it is supposed to be up until the last episode.
If anyone says it is a happy ending didn't think of how "not happy" such live fot main leads will sooner or later be.
Worth to watch as story was interesting overall.

It is average but because there is not enough sci-fi i would give it a solid 7. It would have been much better…
The biggest issue for me is the size of the world. Seoul is like 10mln people. If we leave 1% it is still 100k people. And I would be fine if they wouldn't try to show some scale of the world which they are doing in transmitting trucks scene. There is like 40-50 people next to each truck. It is just way to empty.

The whole mutant thing, they are referencing a specific mine, and potential radiation that led to that but it is not explored, nor explained. It is not even clear why Sa Wol was that unique and "healthy" compared to other mutants (at least that what Ryu Seak suggest). Also those cryo pods, I don't remember it it was said but those were those kidnapped kids, right? So what happened to them, were they alive, did they also have some special mutations? There was a screen time to dig deeper into that.

Some smaller things:
- why 5-8 was so good, was he also a mutant or just trained well to be that good?
- I hate when, if there was a global disaster, the test of the world is ignored. I would love some information how the rest of the world is handling that (that might be the budget decision not to create CG to show that)
- CG was very poor in some scenes (all aerial shots of cars were clearly poor CG, but desert itself, and destroyed city looked good), also the intro shown as "infographics" not ful blown CG wasn't a good choice in my opinion, but I can understand how expensive it would be to do it in a proper way

note: CG for me can be poor if everything else keeps some quality (I prefer more scenes with poor CG throughout the series, than great CG but only seen in intro and outro), so if you like beautiful CG you should substract 1 point from the score.

It is average but because there is not enough sci-fi i would give it a solid 7. It would have been much better as a 2.5h movie than 6ep series. There is just not enough story there, but it is packaged nicely enough that I wasn't bored while watching and finish it in one go.
It is a closed story so no s2 is needed (albeit it is possible to just continue from the point it ended), but there are still some unanswered questions, see spoiler below.
