I've just noticed 5. recently and was wondering just the same. Is it an expected effect, or they just cut on heating hence more chilled atmosphere?

I can understand why some viewers were super turned off by QL's behaviour in episode 7 when he finally came to…
I understand your point and even tried to think from "she knows him since they were young" angle, but it is stil a big no for me. There is absolutely zero excuses for a ML behavior in ep7. It clearly shows some emotional issues and inability to restrain himself from physical violence . He acted under an unproven assumption, that "mind swap" can even happen. She wasn't at fault, she wanted to "get back" as much as he wanted to have his friend back, but violence is never an excusable option. And what, if this would remain a time/space travel story, and such swap wouldn't be possible at the end, and she would end up where she is? Or if it would take really long time, like 10 years or more? We would call ML as being abusive, as during this time FL should just live freely towards her own goals and not for some random persons (ML and original FL).

I don't argue that they might still remain friends and protect and support one another, but I just cannot justify this ending up as a romantic relationship. It just doesn't add up in my brain.

But I just cannot stand any form of unjustified violence. It just shows true character of the person, and at least for me, there is rarely a redemption for a person once they choose violent route when it just wasn't needed.

It is a series with serious identity problem. The big "reveal" for me was rather "meh". I would prefer time and space travel concept. The whole hairdresser/makeup story arc just drags for too long. And once it switches to bad mother, memory manipulation etc. I just lost interest (and then we've got 2nd makeup story arc at the end). It is a shame as there was clearly a potential for a good show.

It would be a nice short drama (8-10 episodes), but it just dragged the main and some side stories for far too long. On top of that, romance part was completely not needed. Considering how ML treated FL at the beginning (when he believed she is from different universe) it is just a big red flag, and there are no excuses for such behavior. I get that once her memories were coming back, so did past feelings and emotions, but he showed like a bipolar behavior during the show :) `

Overall very average drama, 5/10 from me, mostly for FL performance which was superb. She carried the whole show as ML acting was rather meh.

I don't recommend it unless you really like FL, or have time to kill, but then there are many better things to watch.

you dont watch movies for reality, how realistic is gravity and it was praised all lover the world? This movie…
Actually I am when movie pretends to be realistic at the beginning and then makes whole 180 degrees turn on you.
I'm happy that so many people liked this movie, I would like to be one of them, but unfortunately I'm not. And there is nothing wrong with that, different tastes and expectations etc. :)

I really wanted to like this movie, but when they've introduced to much fiction and unnecessary drama instead of solid science it was just too much. After first explosion it would most likely be over. If there was a leak, it is almost impossible to fix. Vacuum is funny this way.

I really hoped for for something like "Stowaway", but was extremely disappointed. From the other side, the technical part was superb that is why I was even able to finish it.

5.5 from me (slightly above average).

I don't like historical dramas but this one was a blast to watch. I've binged it in 2 days. It is an open ending with a possibility for season/part 2, but honestly, it ended realistically except for too few rebels died (the "named" ones), other than that, nobody got a happy ending, they are just alive (at least some of them), fight for independence is in a big sh**hole, like in live, nothing can be easy.

Action packed, a lot of gore (but not too much), western vibes. The only downside, I don't think romance sub plot was necessary. Lee Ho Jung definitely carried second part of the show, loved her in this role and hope she will get some more badass roles, but in more modern times (maybe a project with Han So Hee, one can only dream :) )

did they announce for season 2
I've scrolled through comments and some people have been suggesting that. There was also discussion (within comments) that apparently main actors changed but it was debunked as a fake news. I don't read Chinese so I cannot verify anything, but if what people wrote is true we will have to wait until 2025 for it.

Knowing this will get season 2 changed how I see this drama (it can stand on its own, but there are so many questions unanswered). From the comments it seems like I'm in the minority, but it started strong, then whole tournament thing was just way too long and characters where presented unevenly (if you have in semi-finals person that you are genuinely thinking "who is he?" and "did I miss an episode?", you know the something is off). And the whole attack after the tournament, really, only one guy can stop them? It was lazy writing for me. But then his revenge after, was quite good, as it showed him from not so "good guy" perspective, and I like when people are neither only good or only bad, but somewhere in between.
The part of the drama after the tournament is a little less action more dialog focused for a while, but I've actually really liked it. I might like action scenes, but world building parts are always more interesting for me.
I cannot wait for some additional lore details around Valley of 24 Tames, and how is it that those people managed to get there and, what is more important, create such powerful spells.
Main characters are good (but please, don't add romance to this one), villain has a solid reason to do what she did (I would be pissed too). I'm hoping for more lore and character development.

Good premise, promising first half, but rather disappointing at the end. Overall solid action movie, but rather westernized than having true Korean soul, 7/10 from me.

So quantum computer wants to destroy mankind by watching Yaya in the loop, but she was only "exposed" to the 550W…
Holy fu*! Thanks for that comprehensive response and thoughts abut the movie. I will have to rewach both and come back to your answer to really appreciate it, as today I don't remember TWE2 that well and TWE1 at all.

Thanks nevertheless, it is always good to read other people thoughts on things that are left open or not answered directly in the movies.

I liked it mainly for the friendship between all 3 women.

The romance was rather meh as it didn't need "happy ending". There is no, to very little, chemistry between FL and ML. In my opinion it was portrayed in a very good way that their view about relationship and marriage are completely different. Which is expected with 10 years age difference. It would be way better if they would split up because of that differences as, from experience, him wanting to marry (an maybe have kids) won't change, as hers don't want to do it (and being basically almost to old to safely have kids at all).

Overall good to watch, but romance part of main leads are skippable for me (both second couples were great), as I identify more with the approach to relationship that FL has at the beginning of the show so her change was something I didn't like.

It was good until it wasn't. Pacing was clearly for 14/16 episodes so last 2 episodes feel rushed. It is a shame as character development was interesting.
-1 point for mother that tagged along at the end. And don't even try to convince me that she didn't and that she will make her own trip, i think it is bs. When you think she will just let her daughter go and maybe use this time to work on her personal life, that would be so perfect. How one stupid scene can ruin the reception of the drama.
Overall it was enjoyable, but ending ruined it significantly for me.

Hi there, we are both on the same page. I started to watch Long Ballad right after LLTG and I can't help but to…
I've just finished WRTW and except last couple episodes and the ending I've enjoyed it a lot. I really liked that there is a lot of "wins" for good guys, but also some serious loses. There is a balance in the story that just kept me invested. Big revelation about FL identity is not surprising in neither of the scenes it is discussed.
Nevertheless I would recommend WRTW, especially fight scenes are top tier, even better than the ones in LLTG.
On The Long Ballad Aug 10, 2023
I've started this immediately after Love Like the Galaxy and there is just no comparison. It was boring, story was all over the place but somehow the whole political debacle didn't interest me at all. The "big revelation" was done way to late to the point I didn't care anymore. And Khan's character was just written badly. Also there is literally zero chemistry between the leads. And the only bright part are second leads and how different princess become after her hardships.

Only watch it if you like any of the lead actors, otherwise it is an easy skip.

As a side note, I'm aware that I must have doomed myself watching this right after LLTG which was superb. Said that I need to postpone "Who Rules the World" as it has some mixed reviews and I don't want to ruin it for myself just by comparing to different drama. Maybe it is time for Gen Z (yes, I'm catching up with Zhao Lusi dramas :) )
On King the Land Aug 7, 2023
Very unrealistic but absolutely blast to watch "feel good drama". I loved the leads and chemistry between them. I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually dating (albeit it has been denied by both).

I didn't like that they've make villain from the sister, it didn't make sense, wasn't explored or explained properly, and led literally nowhere. Except it being a partial, not that important, driver for ML actions it served no purpose whatsoever.

But, the whole part about respecting employees, or not focusing only on money but also on people was a nice touch in the world where only profits are important for stakeholders. Big plus for writers for that. If you like rom-coms with happy endings, this one is absolutely worth watching.
On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 2 Aug 7, 2023
This was one of the best character development in TV series I've seen so far. Not only leads but also supporting ones. This was one of the highlight of this series for me. When you compare behavior from beginning and the end (especially FL), you see they've grown over the 5 years the story portrays. Kudos to all the actors, great job.

But from the things I didn't like, and why it is a half point lower than part 1. I think the ending was rushed a little bit, especially after empress death. I missed mother-daughter scenes in part 2 a lot and the whole "reconciliation" with parents wasn't that satisfying. And "crisis" at the end seems like deus ex machina just to bring leads together in a fast way (I hate bringing characters from death this way). This seems like it should be 60 episodes drama for me.

Still absolutely "must watch" even if you don't enjoy historical dramas. Part 1 mainly for mother-daughter and daughter-emperor scenes. And Part 2 to see character development and how most of them grew over time.
On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1 Aug 4, 2023
I'm only 6 episodes in, but this daughter-mother relationship is just great. I hope it will be less cold in the future, nevertheless they are so alike. All scenes with them are heartbreaking and funny (both trying to outsmart each other).
But I must say I've screamed to the TV "just hug her", multiple times already :D
