i was about to sleep until i had this nagging thought: if zhu yan has lived for 34,000 years and the blood moon…
Maybe there used to be systems in place to restrain him that aren't there any longer. Or maybe he only started to lose control during a blood moon when the wilderness began to crumble. I guess/hope we'll find out.
My first theory was that he volunteered to take this 'condition' (= being the vessel) onto himself to free someone else from it, but in the flashbacks with the mountain god it was apparent that controlling the malicious energy has always been an issue for him, so that theory is not longer valid, because he was most likely already born as a vessel.
Wow, episodes 16 & 17 completely ripped out my heart β and we're only halfway through the drama. How am I going to survive the second half?! π’ I can't bear to see Zhu Yan crying like that again because he can't change the things he did when he wasn't in control.
Anyway, absolutely incredible acting from both Neo and Tian Jiarui in this episode. β€
Episode 14 was just perfection. β€ I got intense found family vibes from this drama right from the start, but in particular from that episode. The recurring theme of family, friendship and the different kinds of love one can have for different people is what keeps me emotionally invested in these characters β and what drew me to this drama in the first place. It has just so much HEART. β€
... yeah, there are no heterosexual explanations for quite a few of the dialogues in this drama, but that scene with Zhu Yan and Zhuo Yichen in the red cloud in episode 12? That one was on a whole other level. π
I absolutely love Hou Minghao and Chen Duling in their respective roles so far, great acting from both of them! β€
This is also the first drama of his that I've seen so far in which I consider HMH to act more manly than boyish in the way that his character moves, talks and behaves, if that makes sense.
If we're talking about the same character, then the actor playing him should be Ji Chen. He isn't listed among the cast on MDL yet, though. He also felt sooooo familiar to me, but it took me while to place him. π
I mean police genre itself is new, there are barely any of these. can you recommend better than this one?
It's already a bit older but I really liked Medical Examiner Dr. Qin (with Li Xian and Zhang Ruoyun). I've only watched the first season, though, so I can't say anything about the quality of the second one.
I'll be honest, I'm glad the drama got more interesting again. Even though I love both main leads and their performances, I found the last few episodes quite dragging. But episodes 12 and 13 were really good and now I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episodes. β€
Can someone tell me, Why they haven't make a show when they went to Zhang Family Ancient Tower as it's only in…
Because the bit that takes place between Ultimate Note and Tibetan Sea Flower hasn't been adapted yet. It's the big finale of the book series, in which Zhang Qiling goes behind the bronze gate at the end. It's the only book that fans are still hoping will be adapted as a drama some day.
I guess/hope we'll find out.

Why should I confine myself to one option only.
I mean, Guo Jing Ming has never been super subtle about these things but this drama sets a new record even for him.
I also spotted the Chinese characters of his name in the end credits, so the actor is definitely in it.

This page and the one for the iQIYI Light On series complement each other perfectly:

I can't stand the actor, I have to admit. I find him super creepy.
