Love love love the soundtrack for this drama and I'm happy I found it on Amazon. But like with all drama OSTs I've found there so far I'm not entirely sure if this is an official digital release. Does anyone know if these are legit or if someone shares these illegally on Amazon and takes credit (and money) for the real artists' works?
If the intro animation (as usual with dramas of this kind) represents all the cases yet to come, then there are not only still quite a few cases to solve but this drama is also going to be much, much weirder. Looking forward to it though.
Very solid drama. Its narrative structure reminds me a lot of "A League of Nobleman", except "The Wanted Detective" is way more heterosexual. The squad is adorable and the dialogues and interactions between these youngsters feel very lively and natural. Personally, I also like that the drama concentrates more on the case(s) than on romance (so far), but that's really just my personal preference.
I'm greatly enjoying this short drama so far! It has an amazing old-school vibe to it. The story is pretty straightforward and I have seen many of the tropes a million times before, but the actors deliver them so perfectly that I'm always impatiently awaiting the next episode. :)
Do I need to watch the first season to watch this one?
Absolutely. This is technically not a sequel, it's more like Eternal Brotherhood was filmed as a 48-episode drama and then split into two halves, with the first half being released in 2024 and the second half (or "season 2") coming out on Friday. Both seasons put together tell one single story, which is why season 1 really shouldn't be skipped.
You guys! What do I watch next? I'm thinking of watching Eternal Brotherhood since the sequel is coming up. Liu…
Eternal Brotherhood is EXCELLENT. It's quite dark and highly political, and Liu Yuning is absolutely terrifying in this (literally – his character is a ruthless killer who only loves his wife and his two sworn brothers). One of my favorite dramas of 2024, can't wait to see the second half soon. ❤️
Hello - I want to start this drama, but I see some parent story and spin-offs mentioned. Is it mandatory to watch…
Absolutely not mandatory. A few things just feel more meaningful if you have. That's especially true for the first seven minutes of the first episode which are a very strong nod to The Lost Tomb. (Some of the items and, uh, creatures depicted there play a bigger role in the parent story.) Personally, I'm enjoying all those tiny bits that hint at the source material, but this drama can be easily understood without any further knowledge of those other dramas.
Yes, Wang Zang Hai from The Lost Tomb built the Underwater Tomb for himself, which is also why his corpse can…
Ohhh, you're right! I almost forgot about that. Not I'm wondering if that part of the story is still going to make it into this drama after all. I had similar suspicions when I first saw the opening with the ocean waves, because it reminded me of the Underwater Tomb. Now I'm wondering if it is actually foreshadowing.

Okay, so I only vaguely remember this part, but I think they discussed this in TLT2 and if I recall it correctly, he built the entire tomb on top of a ship which was then sunk to the bottom of the sea.
Just asking out of curiosityWas Zang Hai the one who built the Underwater Tomb of the Paracel Islands in 'The…
Yes, Wang Zang Hai from The Lost Tomb built the Underwater Tomb for himself, which is also why his corpse can be found there centuries later. It is unclear if the same thing will happen in THIS drama, though, or if they changed that part completely.
Am still wondering how did ZH's father escaped in that 1st scene from the mine.. Are they Zombies / supernatural…
The last thing we see before the screen fades to black is that he's reaching for the cube-shaped (?) object that he found down in the mines, so my guess is that it can control the dead soldiers to a degree. I also guess that he was the one who made the Fengshan Altar collapse after he escaped, so no one can go down there again and release the undead.
Who noticed the tower is the same restaurant in Tom of the sea, explore with the not, ultimate
Ohh, I knew I'd seen it before. And then the whole lighting-the-lamp thing made me go "wait, don't do it, that is a BAD idea". At least he got out of it and didn't have to pay, unlike Wu Xie and friends.
Loving Zanghai as my first tomb ride. Duno what took me so long to get on this phenomenal franchise since i seriously…
Finding the right entry point to the franchise that works for you personally can be difficult, but: Though it takes place later in the series, you can start with Adventure Behind the Bronze Door, no problem. It's pretty self-explanatory and has a higher production value than a lot of the earlier seasons. :) Also, it can be genuinely creepy at times with all the tombs, traps and monsters, so if you're into that, you'll surely be entertained. It also has an actual ending, something that at least half of the other seasons lack.
That's at least the case for The Wanted Detective. :)
