I am about to drop this. The have been three escalations that had practically no consequences, assault on Ha Na, shutdown of Hyesung Tours, abuse of Eun Chong.
The chairwoman, the supposed corporate raider, seems to be incompetent not only business wise but also in private life. Until she said it herself, I actually questioned the notion that she is a corporate raider, thought that there might be some misunderstanding.
And it seems like the bullying/abuse of Ha Na will restart. And I am sure the chairwoman or her lackey Jin Gu will do jack shit about it.
FL the "director killer"signing a slave contract doesn't make sense to me. Also I am really not a fan fan of the boss ML tricking subordinate FL into submission trope.
This one didn't age well. Acting is so-so. It has way too many mood shots, and most of the time they feel more like padding, exacerbate the slow-paced feeling.
Well, the shutting down of Hyesung Tours felt like a nothing burger. Sure Jin Gu was demoted, and accepted it like a good lackey. But that is about it. For such a long build up it was disappointing.
It is unfortunate. The first drama with Ko Chia Yen for me was Someday. And none of her other dramas comes even close (so far). Dropped this one at fourth episode.
The romantic buildup between HaNa and JinGu feels cringy.
And even though some major events are happening, it doesn't feel exciting. Probably because everything has been telegraphed in previous episodes. So I ended up skipping through ep 49.
The whole forbidden weapons plot element is just stupid. Who in his right mind would blame a weapons maker/inventor for the death caused by those weapons?
15 episodes in and I don't find any of the characters likable. They are all calculating and manipulative. Everything feels very transactional. I can somewhat understand that the sisters developed this trait as a survival mechanism. But I still wish there would be a bit more magnanimity.
It is still a watchable show though, if you enjoy scheming. :)
Currently rewatching this one. The premise is still great. But, good lord, I completely forgot how ridiculous the MLs are, yelling at the FL, dragging her around, casually kidnapping her. And she just goes along with it, as if it's the most normal thing in the world. Although, I guess it is somewhat typical for kdrama MLs of that time.
Just finished ep25 and I am somewhat frustrated. FL said that she'll leave to see other places. This sounded exciting. But she only went to her birthplace and will go back now. And then there is the ML, stuck to her like a friggin tick. There are very few scenes where she is without him around.

Besides, he doesn't want to marry anyway. So why would the FL have a casual relationship with such a weird guy?

I wonder if the jade business is really as shady as portrayed here, dominated by a bunch of gangsters.
Also at one point physician–patient privilege is violated without any consequences.
