So much cute, so much funny, so little plot. With a less talented cast, it would be a bigger problem. As it stands, I will probably revisit this at times when I’m home sick and need a giant cuddly hardworking cow doll of a drama to comfort me.
So Bong starts their date in heels which turn into sneakers by the time they get to the piano. Don't tell me she switched places with her evil doppelganger? ^_^
I can totally understand why Original Shin is the way he is and I really do feel sorry for him, but there's no…
Also, I feel like I'm experiencing Young Hoon's confusion in reverse. Whenever Original Shin looks hurt or confused I feel MORE sorry for him than I otherwise would, because his soft face reminds me of NS3!
That's also what I'm thinking. Nam Shin III not only has the same face, but is better at everything. He's literally…
What Original Shin needs right now is a good therapist, not Kang So Bong. When you hit a girl, never apologise, in fact say you should have hit her harder and then threateningly grab her the next time you see her, she shouldn't be asked to sympathise with you.
I can totally understand why Original Shin is the way he is and I really do feel sorry for him, but there's no way I'd want to hang out with him. Imagine how awful it must have been to be on that driverless car team in the old days??
The good: the three main leads, the romance, the strange and lovely whimsical weirdness, the FOOD The bad: the abrupt ending (the hour they cut short was much needed to wrap some things up), the MOM (such an annoying cliche character)
Overall, the good more than makes up for the bad. Even with its problems, this drama is still more interesting than plenty out there. There's a lot of love and warmth at its core which makes it a great watch.
I just finished this drama, and my heart is feeling so full. It's a privilege to watch television so good. There were so many tiny, precious truths in this show. Strung together from moment to moment, they helped me to understand how alone we all are, and also how we're never really alone.
Hwang Jung Eum's acting is not to everyone's taste, including mine. However, I find it's possible to get used to her shrieking over time, and in some cases it's worth taking the time because the actors she's working with are excellent and she herself really does know how to land the emotional beats - it's better than being wooden and lifeless. She Was Pretty turns out to be a really great, fun rom-com if you just bear with her for the first few episodes!
I feel like it should bother me more that there is hardly any plot, really? I have no idea how they will keep momentum in the last four episodes. BUT the chemistry between the leads is so, so fire AND the supporting cast are consistently funny and interesting. I never imagined Se Ra's love line would be so cute, for example. So I keep watching and loving it! In less capable hands it would be boring, but King & Queen Park make it all better.
It worked for Do Min Joon and Cheon Song Yi, even though he was literally allergic to making out with her!
I didn’t but I was planning to look it up and check! I wouldn’t be surprised if DMJ evolved to that level of capability - They definitely didn’t want to spell it out or to rule it out, either way.
Okay, a quick poll: does Poong really seem like that much of a bad boss to you folks? I get that he's strict and…
Poong is a great boss, I think. He lets things go when they don't directly affect the quality of the food, like Sae Woo and her mom leaving mid-shift, or the mom promoting herself. It's only the quality of the food and service which he is exacting about, which is fair enough I think. He is very direct but it's not unusual for a chef in a high-pressure kitchen environment. And he's never mean or unfair.
Someone further along please spoil me for how the cancer thing develops. It's a comedy so I'm not expecting character…
Turns out the horse has cancer, not Sae Woo. He gets an operation to remove it and seems all fine on that front. It gets resolved pretty early and then isn't really mentioned again :)
The bad: the abrupt ending (the hour they cut short was much needed to wrap some things up), the MOM (such an annoying cliche character)
