I really like the current pairing. But I think it’s inevitable now that real Naksu will definitely come back. I just try to understand Hong Sisters way of storytelling. If you remember “Big”, they messed up body swaping story in that drama so bad. I hope this time they do the right thing by at least giving us clear story who is Uk truly in love with.
Jang Uk fell in love with Naksu first. Even at the first sight. He literally said the first time they meet, only mudeok eyes are beautiful. Mudeok eyes are the only part of Naksu that are visible from the outside. The proverb “Eyes are windows to the soul” must be taken seriously in this case :).
Jang Uk and Naksu will eventually be the end game no matter what.
Mudeok is of course very important character. When the day comes, Naksu will leave mudeok body and Uk will start questioning who is the person he fell in love with.
The day Uk finally meet real Naksu and see those eyes again. I’m sure he will recognize the eyes of person who he truly loves. He’ll fall in love harder.

I mean “Aching” song lyric is the hidden love letter from Seo Gyeong. Not the actual letter. I find that many OST in kdrama is actually written based on certain character point of view. I believe Aching is from Seol Ran / bu yeon point of view.

This song might actually be the love letter from Seol Ran to Seo Gyeong (Songrim founder). She’s there all this time remembering Seo Gyeong in her heart, even after they reincarnated (Bu Yeon & Uk). She watched from afar, she always make sure that the man she loves is happy and not hurt. Even when he’s happy, she would hesitate to show herself to him, always making distance. This is exactly like what bu yeon/ mudeok soul did all this time. she’s just silently being there, protecting Uk whenever she need to, but never reveal herself. The story of Seol Ran and Seo Gyeong is unrequited love after all. They might not be together in the end because Uk belongs to Naksu, but Buyeon’s love remains a true love.
If this is true, then her story is very similar with that firefly guy from Hotel Del Luna. Just waiting for the love she will never have.
Now I understand the title “ Why Oh Soo Jae?”. this drama literally makes us questioning why all the bad things happened to her. The writter is too cruel, she created a drama about a strong woman but also make her becomes a miserable woman with all the misfortunes.
2 episodes left and I hope our ML at least doing something useful. The SML might be more helpful right now.
I hope that thief "friend" of MD will not stay for long in the drama... I mean, it's pretty obvious from ep 9…
My prediction is the plot about the real jin daughter will be dragged a little bit. Next following episodes will highlight more about Uk & Mudeok relationship growth. At least Uk needs to realize that he’s in love with mudeok first before he finds out that Mudeok is actually part of Jin family.
Today’s episode is quite slow for me. We don’t see much of our main couple scene. Well, there are 3 new characters being introduced (young bu yeol, madam jin’s husband and mudeok’s friend), so I can see why this episode feels more like a bridging to new conflict in the second half of the show.
And Heo’s grandaughter scene is so unecessary for me. She’s there only to confirm that Uk never interested to other woman if it’s not mudeok/naksu. I don’t really like her character n I dont find her ship-able with any of the main leads.
Started watching this because of Lee Jae Wook. I’m in episode 26 but already spoiled myself with the ending.
Can I just call this drama “32 episodes of torture towards poor Baekyung” 🥲
The writer gives no justice to him. All the scene made in this drama is just to torture him, develop his character and make him redeem. My heart breaks for him.
Imagining part 2 story: Naksu will perform soul shifting many times to various body. We’re going to have lots of guest role that will play Naksu. Jang Uk will always love Naksu no matter how she look from the outside. Wait… it’s like “Beauty Inside” in historical setting 😂🤣
Well, I’m excited for the part 2. I love JSM, but I’m also curious to see Jae Wook chemistry with Go youn jung. She’s very beautiful and has her own level of charisma. The story will be more interesting I think. I know it’s sad, but Hong Sister thaught me how to say goodbye to the characters that we love. It’s bittersweet but always leave us with memorable story.
Let’s talk about the jade stone. When a couple wear the ring made from that sacred jade stone, their love deepen. But the jade stone is already broken, then Uk made the bird egg from that broken jade. It becomes the symbol of their relationship (Uk & Mudeok).
How the stone will affect their relationship? Obviously their love will deepen (based on next ep preview, the stone really works) But does it mean they can’t be together in the end because the jade was broken?
