1. Sono Sion was the exec.producer of this. 2. the mask poster is so much better. 3. it's neck-breaking, a bit whiplashy, super stylish. The story is nothing groundbreaking, but executed well. It has action, it has feels, I had lots of fun watching it. Recommended for the killer visuals.
I thought I was gonna hate this because I really hate Chief Baek in the webtoon and I read it only because of…
in the webtoon, is Chief Baek a 1st lead in a romantic sense? does he develop feelings for Lee Ra Doo? I wouldn't mind if Chief Baek got only the character development plotline and Assistant/undercover heir Kang was left with all the loveline, without a triangle.
Sammmmme. The CGI was so cringeworthy. I had to double check if it was a tvN drama cause it’s bad.
I didn't mind it in Hwayugi either. I always thought about it as a pingback to Master's Sun's standard of special effects, so, yeah, it passed (in CSW's voice).
She turns into a non-existent person, its not a body swapping situation. The shape shifting gets explained a little…
I vaguely remember some kiddo confusing her with his real mother once (when she was played by Kim Nam Joo, in the cafe or something), so I don't think the makers are very consistent on that point.
I'm reaching the midpoint and What's Up is such a hidden gem so far. The plot may be nothing special (all dramas combining school and music are you saw one, you saw them all thing for me), but the drama is two things I'm instantly sold at: character driven and having an ensemble cast. And speaking of the cast, it's a bottomless box of chocolattes, both for veterans and then-new faces that were're seeing everywhere today. The use of music throughout is outstanding for a kdrama. Directing / editing combo is something I'd like to see more of, too. It's oldschool, but very dense, cinematic and sensible. Such a pleasure to watch despite somewhat dated visuals and production value. I regret putting this drama of for so long. The score is a bad joke.
The concept for this show is so strange. I just don't know if I can get onboard with it. Freezing time means everything…
in ep 2 she's not frozed with other people even while being away from him. But that only further complicates things. If the time stops universally and she's immune, shouldn't she notice something way before meeting the guy? He keeps doing it all the time.
You can't demand from dramas to be unpredictable and full of plot twists and not end up with something like an overly dynamic worldbuilding of Ghost Detective from time to time. It had its gimmicks, it had its worldrules made on the fly and abandoned before they hit the ground, and it definitely had its not-so-dumb characters tossing an idiot ball back and forth in the last few eps, but I enjoyed it all despite. The cinematography was fitting and tasteful (save from the red eyes; if you need a dangling neon arrow pointing out that someone is currently evil, you're either failing somewhere miserably or overdoing it out of fear of failure). The series continued to be eerie and besetting without needing to turn gory to deliver the point, and among all this it managed to keep something tender between the team. I loved the comaderie and how dynamic their network was. Side characters had both a personality and a purpose. I think I get now how some people had felt about Mad Dog - a drama far from perfection in terms of writing and logic stood out thanks to an excellent casting and actors that breathed some air into their characters. You'll read plenty of praise towards Choi Daniel, but it's not just him, everyone was great. I'm glad I could watch it as it aired. And I liked the finale. Maybe it went on for a biit too long, especially with the Pain in The Neck teaser and more ppl of cars, but at least it gave closure for everyone before that.
For all the haters.. You made the drama popular in no time with your countless comments that actullay have nothing…
right? it's no. 1 on Trending carousel, and here I am, still sifting through the comment section in search for something about the actual drama and not the drama around it.
am I the only one still enjoying this one? while I'd agree that last two episodes were mostly flashbacks, build-up, trying to be clever with timeline and what is shown and what isn't at given point, flashbacks, amusement park-like races in PPL cars, more flashbacks and some dumb actions from certain characters, it all somehow works as a padding for a very grave choices our characters are to face. For me the clinch of not being able to get rid of the villainess (is that a word?) unless the circumstances align exactly is still convincing and the story is still keeping its pace and shape. I'm thrilled for the finale week-and-a -half (damn those splits).

The time is somewhere in the 24th century BC if I'm getting it right.
