It says in the description HS leads the first detective agency in Joseon? Still waiting for that to happen, it'd…
I believe something got lost in translation. Detective agencies in Korea are often called inquire agencies, and there's not far from inquiries to Hong Shim's and her good-for-nothing husband 'we'll do anything for you' enterprise. Unless this drama has some big surprises waiting for us, I guess that's it.
Just how bad is the ending? I want to watch it but I'm scared it's gonna be beyond horrible based on the comments
I don't see it as a bad ending at all. It's not illogical or forced. I'd love to see a season two someday, because it sets up for it perfectly, but if it'll never happen, I can live with what we've got. I think some people may be disappointed, because it's not a happily ever after type of ending, but as I said, it's not an illogical solution for this particular story. The main three characters were gradually being left to their own devices, they were finding their own goals and ways. Their priorities were shifting. We leave them in an interesting place.
The worst part I'll put in a spoiler below. I'll try to be vague for the sake of not spoiling it completely.
What a wicked, sorrowful, tender thing. So much tension from start to finish! A narrative so neatly put together and so filler-free. Visuals so aesthetically pleasing! Where did that wonder come from and can I get more?
This is too...too much, I legit lost two nights sleep after first ep.
for me the gore overload feels just numbing from some point on, especially when the happenings keep falling into the same pattern. Which makes this drama something I wouldn't necessarily choose to watch in the dead of night, but the scare doesn't stay with me if you know what I mean. It's more jumpscary than hauntingly scary at this point. Give it a go for the cheekbones, if nothing else :)
Thanks for the clarification, now I got it. Sorry for the last reply that got clustered into one giant word, I was on mobile. But I still don't think it's a perfect fit if it applies to the 2nd female lead here. He doesn't care for her, does he? So there's no jealousy involved.
She even said 10 years has passed since the incident.. So was she 18 at that moment
I don't know about the subs you were using, but in mine there were two time stamps actually. I'm not sure which one was a mistake (if any). First, just after the time jump the chyron read 16 years, and it was only later that they were talking something about 10 years passing. Does 16 make more sense?
fun fact: that's exactly the opposite of how trees work irl. They connect through mycorrhizal network and can feed and sustain the weaker one for years. It's not a see-saw.
WOW! 3 back to back Wednesday- thursday ( Prison Playbook, Mother, My mister )TVN dramas got rating 9.2 on MDL.It's…
big shoes to fill for What's Wrong With Secretary Kim of all things. Maybe it won't be another 'arrogant CEO's getting fixed by his secretary' type of drama after all?

@anastassia: wasn't she 12 then?
