I don't understand the concept of a girl or guy coming back after years of being broken up and assuming that…
No, too much dramas like in watching too many tv series makes people (even fictional people in tv series) think it's a normal thing to disappear and come back expecting everything will be alright, because true love conquers all or whatever.
I know it's silly, but it saddens me this drama is underappreciated. Yes, the beginning has a generic setup for character development of a male lead and reason for the villain turns out to be insignificant in the end, but this drama has an inexplicable charm for me. The Heavenly Emperor, King of Underwolds and three Bangs' antics are pure gold.
Please, don't be discouraged if the first episode looks low-budget to you! You'll be missing out a great fantasy drama.
anyone else has troubles with the pacing? I like it and when I have a good day for watching this, I watch several…
Lol, you must really like it to dig so deep into the thread :D
I think Panda's right, there are slower episodes and other which are faster & denser, and the second kind gives me a spin once I get into this. I'm hearing only good things about this show, so I'll give it another try one day, but so far I'm still stuck in the middle and have no heart for it.
/oh, and I'm with you on watching more of the same instead of juggling 10 different dramas and having to keep track of who's who.
I'm so confused whether it heads somewhere or the show just tries to be deliberately confusing for the sake…
There was a scene in a previous episode when he came out of his car after arguing with Bong Hee and falling in his thoughts (I guess?) and he was dazed, not knowing where he's or what's happening. A tiny scene, I'm sure I'd just ignored it if it wasn't for the amnesia part in the synopsis. That't the closest it gets so far. But it wouldn't be the first time blurbs turn inaccurate, so who knows.
Also: I love you more than you love me, so I cheated on you with our common friend? Whom we know since always? How has she came to that conclusion??
With that lame excuse, we still have no idea whatsoever how could Yoo Jung willingly end up in bed with Eun Hyuk. She shows little to no interest in him, past and present times both.
I'm so confused whether it heads somewhere or the show just tries to be deliberately confusing for the sake of it. If we wasn't shown who the killer is, I'd think there's something very off with the new client too. Is it intentional?
The only person showing any symptoms of a memory loss so far is Ji Wook. If nothing more shows, I think the blurb lies.
/And let me get this straight: he brings justice for people who have 'sinned' in his eyes in place of his victims, by in such a way, so the victim knew and puts the blame on some random stranger? Not very just, Mr Psychokiller. Or he just has some semblance of decency to choose bad people for his victims and plays with everyone else...?
I rewind the episode many times. I still dont get why SHE cheated on him. Ok so the 3 of them are childhood friends…
It wasn't shown, maybe we'll see a backstory from her point of view later? They did a nice job while introducting her at first, she can't just turn into another crazy ex.
those who didn't like it: what marks a breaking point for you? I keep hearing people say it went downhill…
Yeah, half of the fun comes from not knowing what will they do next. But I think I may rewatch it some day to observe how certain relationships fall apart or to check with a clear head, knowing the outcome, whether some twists made sense or not. (But I'm a kind of person who rewatches heist movies or BBC's Sherlock, so for me it's only more satysfying to come back knowing the whole thing.) Kwon Yul and Kim Gab Soo are always a joy to watch too, and it was all so pretty :D Generally, people coming now are in a better situation, beause they're forewarned with ep 1 controversy and don't have high expections with 7,9 rating.
lmao, I forgot about those subtitles. "I wishn't spend a single moment with a heinous recreant like…
Yes, is so distracting, I'm thinking of their wording instead of the meaning. The worst thing is, sometimes they just choose their own style and disregard the orignal, trying very hard to sound sophisticated and historical in every sentence (Queen S. case).
And I don't think a native would say 'wishn't', even in old times. Even googling turns only some video game for that search. A short form goes against the high style too.
But yay for subbers anyway, even if sometimes they try too hard.
I really hope that Yoo Jung has depth to her. I really liked the second female lead in Weightlifting Fairy, because…
Me too! I really hope there's more to this and this just a tiny temporary downhill. Both mothers relationship and Ji Hee & Yoo Jung duo had much more freshness to them at the beginning, but now are turning cliche. Fighting for Weightlifting Fairy resolution, because that ex was unsufferable at the beginning but somehow organically turned so good. Maybe they are heading to pair her with the cheater eventually, since we were shown a backstory?
What's with the new male cast being labeled as "main" i mean i loved all the romances we got in…
maybe there will be more focus on dating, so the girls won't be spending so much time together? The description is cryptic so far, but it heavily implies it.
those who didn't like it: what marks a breaking point for you? I keep hearing people say it went downhill after 4th episode, around the middle or towards the end, but I don't personally see any considerable drop or change in a quality. (But admittedly, I waited for first 8 or 10 episodes to air and only then started to watch it weekly, so it's a probably different then waiting for it every week and slowly losing interest.)
Ep 17 and Kang Jul In trying to push a murder as a desacration of a corpse. How is that even an issue? Didn't they have a coroner to state the cause of death before, whether it was due to metal rod destroying some internal organs or something else? So how exactly is he pushing it, his sheer willpower?
Ok, let's say autopsy was done lazily or not done at all, but come on.
Why am I even still questioning those things. (Oh, and the written ruling did prove useful afterall.)
/The extension wasn't needed, but I didn't hated it afterall. They gave fans very soothing closure after all that ride, even if a bit overdone and justier than thou. Especially earmuffs scene and everything after the trial (why did she became a lawyer, wasn't she good at her job? /oh, I got it, was she burned for good as a whistleblower?/). For the first time I even enjoyed tiny recaps galore in last two eps, I half-forgot many of those scenes. Dozens of dramatic/encouraging looks between SYJ and LDJ, not so much.
I'm only sad that the first victim was treated instrumentally. We didn't even met his family (unless we did?), no one fought for him. Why is it only 'Reporter Shim' award? They were a team and they both suffered because of the case they investigated together.
so, how does it work? Are there two disconnected blocks in every episode or do they mix scenes from both stories…
Sorry, I probably wasn't clear enough, I mean from the technical point of view. Is there a Part 1 lasting straight 30 minutes uninterrupted and then Part 2 starts, each devoted to their separate timelines? Because that's how it sounds from the description above.
so, how does it work? Are there two disconnected blocks in every episode or do they mix scenes from both stories together? I'm still sceptical about Yeo Jin Goo + multiple timelines drama after Orange Marmalade.
I'm finishing the drama since I never finished last semester due to finals, and I'm watching episode…
no. He says he's sorry and they all have a painting party on a roof. He, people he tried to kill, families of those he suceeded.
Alternatively, you can choose one of the scenes he's wounded or endangered as a 'true' ending, if him dying unrepentant sounds better to you (or even the plane crush).
/Ah, and before that there's an arc in which his guilt is watered down. Circumstances from the past are revealed, some supportive characters get tainted and it all heads towards whitewashing Tae Ho. Loads of fun.
This had been on my watch list for like the longest time because I thought it'd be another over-rated drama.…
They most certainly can, but it's commander job to prevent it. With well organized guard it's harder and harder for things to happen - people are more suspicious, they know their faces, they know smell of poisons or carry those silver spoons and hairpins, guards are positioned so they can see shooters, etc. They have procedures and hightened attention. There'll never be a 100% guarantee, but you can minimalize the risk further and further.
Oh, I know: you know how Chinese doctors used to be paid not for their visits to ill patients, but for keeping them in good health? It's similar, but with more serious consequences.
