Wow, I don't understand where the hate comes from. I think it's pretty funny....
And still the majority of votes isn't hate, but 7s to 9s, which may very well stay that way. What's more, 12 people either think it's a masterpiece or are desperate to bring to score up. Are those scores more valid than 1s and 4s? I don't see anyone ranting over them.
Obsessing over ratings now is pointless. Until the function of rating airing dramas is active, it's going to stay this way. I believe anyone with a brain can check the drama out and judge for him/herself.
I need an answer: How tolerable is the inaccuracy degree of this? In other words, how believable is that it is…
Yeah, towards the end ep first hour. That kind of a vintage-looking drafting lamp, in mint green I guess. Technically, we could push the date to very late, pre-Japanese occupation Joseon since it isn't stated (unless it is?).
But it's not like it's not coherent within a fusion sageuk. But I totally get there're people distracted with modern inclusions too, and that objects or rituals are easier to spot than mind patterns or whole mentality.
The synopsis wrong. Lee sun is Sukjong but he lived his youth in the 1600's.
I read on other page it's not supposed to be strict at all. They took a name to point towards a general air, but it's going to be a different story altogether. And presumably with a happy ending (no rice boxes, no madness).
I think this one [along with Tunnel] is one of the most underrated dramas ever. Like seriously, the ost here,…
You're right. I was probably ticked with 'the most underrated ever' and people calling it a future hidden gem, while there are dramas on MDL with great feedback and high score not getting into the top list because of too little viewers. I don't think this one will be forgotten, even if only for people skimming through Yoo Ah In list or following Kill me, Heal me writter and coming here. The comments on dramabeans are always buzzing for this one too.
I'm Joo Won's fan but, not sure if I should watch this one. Is it worth it..?
but Joo Won's dimples! we won't be seeing him anytime soon.
It may improve. Tomorrow Cantabile was hard to watch at first (still less slapstick than japanese version), but turned delightful. Or Tomorrow with you for that matter.

Unless you're really into slapstick comedy based on blurping, belching and vomiting on people, characters dumbed down and narrowmindly stuck in misunderstandings for comic sake, guards virtually unseen to faciliate skinship, but showing every now and then, and generic court politics - no. First two hours were cringy, repulsive and boring. But it's just a personal opinion. I'd say wait a few weeks and see if it improves.
Setting and landscapes are pretty though.
what's up with the rating? I really enjoyed the 1st episode..and I hope those who'll visit this page…
as if ratings were ever telling.
But now I'm curious myself. Is one of the leads disliked as an actor? Are there salty fans of the movie not pleased with changing the setting to historical? Are bad drinking habits off-putting enough to drop the whole thing? What's the deal?
I wasn't sucked in with first episode and probably won't be following this since there ar so many other new releases out there, but it's not terrible enough to hate.
seriously LBY & LSY have no chemistry ? , have watched MDSY ?, they were best couple this is not a romance…
on the contrary, I think the romance part turned a bit cheesy and forced when the writer stopped making it subtle, either on his own or under pressure. What actors chemistry in other show has to do with this one?
Wasn't so sure about Reply 2006 start, but now I love it so much. It's a perfect combo of a second hand embarassment and relatability. All main characters are so precious!

@choimari: Once you get pass the concept of a high class girl with really bad drinking habits, an occassional modern lamp next to male lead's bed shouldn't be that much of the problem. At least I really hope there are only drinking habits after watching ep 1, I haven't seen the source material. She's the most unfitting element.

first 15 minutes is serious palace drama with slow-mo fights and everything going awry. Then it turns drastically lighter, with Joo Woon on the ship, oozing with coolness in dark glasses while holding an ugly small dog in a cap in his arms, later being pestered by squeeling crowds of fangirls on the streets. During a party, they're doing this thing with row of drinks, one type of liquid in a big cup, small & stonger drink on top, tipping one and everything falls like a domino (newest fad in Qing) and other similar tricks. So not completely unlike Hwarang, but not as bad so far.
/oh, now they'r basically following a smarty-pants law student trope with him reciting penalties and asking whether someone wants to be taken to a police station. /A hotel for hours.
