Someone thinking that Hwang Jung Eum can pull off Go Joon Hee's hairstyle was terribly wrong.
I was talking about trailer posted 6 comments down. The poster is off [LSH looks like a Frankenstein-doll], but the trailer is closer to this photo than to editorial shot above, and I guess we're about to see her this way in the show.
With no hope of make-over this time.
There seems to be varied mixed opinions about Mi - I really tried to view it from both perspectives but oh my…
The writting is inconsitent. At the beginning she was much more humane as a character, I could see her point too. She wasn't just bitchy older sister who had it all - she was under huge pressure to earn money for the entire family, was mistreated because of her looks at work (poor beautiful girl). But now she's being shown just a spoiled golddigger and filthy manipulator, which isn't very productive for the show plot-wise. It was more interesting to watch when she wasn't too easy to hate.
I have watched all 3 episodes but i'm not getting why this show already is 8.4. There are too many problems to…
That's because for whatever reason people rarely use full 1-10 scale here. I guess NMG alone brings the statistics up to 8, no matter the quality of the show.
Woah. I haven't expected this shitstorm. For the change we have an experienced actress who actually can act and isn't another idol casted because of her looks in a drama that looks actually quite decent and promising, casted aside guys who don't look much older than her. A sageuk to add.
Mind-note to myself: ignore the comments, enjoy the show.
Now jung da bin gone , Tough to watch this drama. Its like face history drama where young lead left collapsed…
Sadly, I have to agree. I'm by no means a hater of Jin Se Yeon, I mean I didn't particulary like her role in Bridal Mask, but always though her character was written this way and the actress did what she could to make it bearable. But now... Let's say I'm not that enthusiastic this drama is 50 episodes long. Maybe it'll get better?
Either this, or I'm gonna continue the personal tradition of ignoring one of the lead characters and focusing on everything else :D
I saw the bad reviews (mostly about the writing??) for this a couple of weeks ago so put off starting it.. Did…
I actually liked the beginning better. Now it's getting too predictable and repetitive. I think I'm going to drop it, especially if they're extending it with fillers... Not worth skipping.
Nah, I disagree with black jacket part. He look his best in it, but maybe I'm just drawn to spidery types. The hairstyle though! I can't get over the change from his early 20th century style to this hideous fringe. I may or may not scream at my laptop when they did it. His original hairstyle was so much more flattering than this coconut monstrosity.
I want to watch sth with him to understand why is he being constantly name-dropped, but everything is so old... I mean, I was super disappointed with all the "classic" kdramas and now I'm hesitant to watch anything pre-2010. They just doesn't age well for me. Is there anything here that is still watchable?
OK. Apart from some couch scenes and superhearing, it's nothing like You Who Came from the Star (which is a good thing in my book). Characters are completely different and the story seems to unfold on its own way.
Word of caution for vampire-genre orthodoxs: he's neither alien, nor vampire. Immortal, fast healing, but walks in daylight and doesn't even feed on blood (just liquid diet).
/ one more thing: special effects look super fake, to the point it only makes it funnier.
Let's just say the summary doesn't give this show justice. What a pleasant surprise.
Also: I can't believe we still don't have any "best served cold" line in the comments section.
Hwang Jung Eum in another "quirky" role .............
I just started Secret but she isn't much different there than in her later roles. Loud, squeeky persona and over the top acting, but with typical pure and clueless k-heroine vibes. Unless she [=character] grows a spine or gains a composure in the course of the story, I beg to differ. She always plays the same type which makes me wonder whether she can act anything else or is she just being herself.
Not this time. The amount of cheesiness combined with bad acting is just too much for me. I only got as far as the end of ep 3, most of the time watching through palm face (is there a handy word for this? there should be. Like, when you're watching a horror or medical scenes covering your eyes, but can't either stop nor close them completely).
C'mon, even shoes are ugly.
please tell me 2 episodes left will bring me joy. please please please
Now I feel like a psychopath for waiting for the opposite. K-writters rarely have balls to pull through a sad ending (in dramas at least, movies are other cup of tea). Even when they're foreshadowing something ominous BEWARE, MULTIPLE SPOILERS INCOMING like in Faith or Missing you, they can blatantly ignore explicit scenes of main character dying recurring through past 15 eps and make a twist that saves him, so the scene they've been teasing us all the time never actually happens. I expect nothing less than a sudden chance for a treatment in the US and a removing all the family obstacles.
With no hope of make-over this time.

But what can I say, I'm weak and I fall for it anyway.
