It's the second drama I managed to make my mother and step-father watch, this at a moment where his mom was on death-bed. It's indeed light-hearted and still pretty interesting. Perfect to think about something else.

Well, I feel the same when someone talk about "western". But even if it's a generalization, the fact is a continent will share a similar culture and so the stereotypical image will be the same for the whole continent once it's imprinted in minds. So I don't get offended in such situations, that will change over time. The purpose here is basically to tell viewers that the ML was sent really far away. Nothing more.
To be honest as an African myself I was extremely offended! But then again Africans have allowed whites to do…
Stereotypes takes years, if not more, to change. For a long time, if you asked people from another continent to describe how they though Africa looked like, they would answer with 'poverty' and 'lack of water'. Even if that's not true everywhere, that's the stereotype we have in mind. But even that is not insulting to people if you think about it. They just depict situations. It's not one's fault to have no money or if it doesn't rain. Also, a lot of associations do advertisement about their charity work in Africa, hence those images. Actually, at least in my country, this kind of advertisement tends to disappear over the years, probably because they realized they were contributing to those stereotypes and it was more hurtful than helpful. On the bright side, maybe thanks to internet, younger generations learn more about what's happening outside their country so those stereotypes tend to disappear nowadays.
9/10. For once, I loved both male and female leads. She was sassy indeed and he was bold. Maybe a bit too hesitant in one episode but he was a great character. Moreover, it was a light watch. Anything heavy didn't last long, making it a really enjoyable romance.
i love this drama but i wish that the fl was more involved in the politics . I wanted her to be a schemer in order…
Her behavior doesn't even faze me. She is a princess so very few people are above her and can dare say anything to her. If such a princess had the support of those people, than I can totally picture such behaviour. Even in modern times, reputation is everything to politicians. Yet, we sometimes hear of some huge behavior problems and they still manage to go unscathed.
Alright, the ending is satisfaying in itself but the last few seconds call for a second season. Without a doubt. Don't fear it, it does feel complete, they just added a little twist for a season 2. 8/10 for me.
I think it’s quite refreshing to watch a drama of this period with a FL who came on very strong and went after…
I'd say a bit earlier, when he overheard her conversation and a snake appeared. He then thought maybe her interest for him was genuine and this softenned him a bit. Then her fiancé appeared and he overheard her conversation when he was on the rooftop. That's when he knew she was a smart and maybe honest person, unlike what was being said about her. To me, that's the moment he realized he might start to like her if she kept chasing him. That's why he said if he thought she was the one, he would chase her no matter what. He didn't want his feelings to grow even further if she was just playing around. When she ran away, her attitude only confirmed his thoughts that she was actually kind-hearted and so he couldn't help falling for her. Well, that's my interpretation.
That's probably the first time I'm loving a female chases the male first. Usually, with this trope (at least in the dramas I watched so far), the FL tends to be childish or the ML tends to be the cute, nearly girly type. But not here, I'm loving both male and female characters.
