Just started watching (thanks housemate - the same one that got me properly addicted to kdramas, LOL) and am at the end of EP 2 and the team meal. DID YOU HEAR WHAT THE BOSS SAID? "You don't have to drink if you can't". WOW, the first time I have EVER seen that in a drama from a culture that applauds and pushes drinking to the point of bullying!! WELL DONE EAW team for including that line. THANK YOU!!!!
Honestly nobody knows? All 3 couples had HE in the novel, but a lot was changed in the drama version.
HE? I noticed after I posted the above that the final ep hadn't been released yet and MDL had taken down the counter. I shall just have to wait for a kind hearted person to fill me in later.
Would somebody please spoil the ending for me. I don't have the heart to watch the last two episodes with what I think might be coming. No need to go into great depth, just enough to reassure me (or not) that Porsche doesn't go shooting Kinn's father over his involvement with his parents. Tell me Porchay doesn't end up on drugs, don't mind if he doesn't get with Kim. Tell me Porsche and Kinn don't break up and they actually talk about what is happening... I don't have the courage to continue.
This show would have been almost absolutely perfect if the YouTube version I watched didn't have so many random patches of music without subs. I guess that's what you get for not paying for it.
Aside from that, I loved the maturity of it all, how there was depth and emotion and avoided fluff and glossing over serious matters. I liked that although they involved the exes of both it wasn't dragged out like a lot of other dramas do. How JingJing dealt with her ex was perfect and I loved how Yu Tu was polite yet firm with his ex. Finally, a grown up drama with grown up issues that are solved in grown up ways, with mischievous bits in their for fun.
Re-watching this for the Xth time (I really cannot remember) and I thought I'd give a shout-out to the actor who plays the guy originally cast in the Architecture play and is a total (insert negative adjective here). He does a good job of being annoying and disrespectful and careless. He cracks me up. "Hello, shh" (Ep. 7, 3/4, 7 mins). Hope he turns up in another drama so he can be listed in this one as well.
Does anyone find themselves enjoying a drama then for some reason (sometimes undefined) just hit a wall and stop watching? I currently have quite a few of them in my CW list. One is Under the Skin, something happened in the ep. I got up to that reminded me of other dramas (western) and for some reason my whole person just went - nah, can't do this right now. I can see what is coming and I am not emotionally prepared for it. Same with Tell Me What You Saw. Great drama, I am finally up to the final few episodes and I don't have the emotional fortitude to finish it yet.
Sometimes there is too much second hand embarrassment (Jealousy Incarnate) or because you really like the actor so you overreact/empathize/get embarrassed (?) for their character (Backstreet Rookie, Lovestruck in the City).
Then there are the ones like Love at Night - I was really enjoying it up until 14 then it started the whole cliched cdrama thing and I am so over that merry-go-round. Don't have the guts to officially get off it yet. I do rather like the FL so I am curious as to how what is going to happen actually happens.
Then there is The Confidence Man JP - finished ep 3. laughing the whole way through each episode, have given it a 10 and for some reason over a year has passed and I haven't finished it. No idea why. I mean to yet I am procrastinating.
I think Shiro and the other authors have put it well. Timing and mood play a big role and there are so many more to be distracted by and use to put-off finishing the ones that are messing with your mind and emotions (or are bored with or [insert reason here]).
Stats
Currently Watching: 42 (trying to hang in there amidst the distractions of re-watch and new). Dropped: 9 Completed: 326 (Cheated with a few of those. Watched most, got over it, skipped to the final few - only one, maybe 2 stood out so much that I went back and watched the skipped episodes and loved it). On Hold: 1 - the one my housemate intro'd me to and got me properly hooked on asian dramas.
Guys can you please recommend me something to watch ? Bl or not anything
I just finished watching The Miracle of Teddy Bear. Over 16 hours of slow burn story that covers jealousy, betrayal, paranoia, forgiveness, self sacrifice and love. Wow.
Wait, the doctors in this drama hit each other?! That reminded me of the drama Doctor Stranger when the second…
Unfortunately in this case I think art reflects life and this disrespect is far too common in the SK workplace. Abuse, bullying, power tripping, etc. Just a quick search of the internet has garnered quite a few sites that talk about such.
While this is not an excuse in any way, shape or form, it is interesting to note that only since the 1950s (so about 3-4 generations (I'm not good at counting that stuff) they have gone from a very intense civil war with a non-existent economy to having companies like Samsung, LG, Hyundai and so on. I am guessing that is why they drive their kids and themselves and that intense pressure spills out in very unhealthy ways.
