I guess you can say he's more wild now. The demon Sen Luo is also using him as a vessel and he's aware of it. I think there will be scenes where he has like out of body communications with Sen Luo in the future eps. Not sure if they will give Sen Luo his own form, or keep him with ZLH's face.

I feel like there's a prior scene missing from that. He looked so badly tortured that it seemed almost like they beat him into submission. So it's possible he could've started off denying but by the point that we saw, he just gave up because none of the higher-ups believed him.
