The next leading drama to come should be the one with Jing Tian. His character there is a blend of a few traits that lean more towards Xie Wei's side... a little sinister, a little domineering, but hides a gentle side underneath. He's also someone who carries about 5-6 different identities... Knows martial arts. After that should be his drama with ZJM where he plays someone with brains and is a smart-mouth... Likes to have word battles with the FL often, but there's a very sensitive side underneath... Also suffers from family mistreatment in the past. As for the ZY listed drama, that's a rumor and not confirmed, so I would take that with a grain of salt.

This idea involving kissing with him is just so baffling to me that I sometimes question if this is true about the wife. He should just stick to projects that don't require any kissing. The first time I watched him was Under the Power because I like Seven Tan and noticed it was weird. Then read up on it and found out about the clause and haven't been able to watch any of his other dramas since. I thought I saw in the trailer of One and Only that he did touch lips with BL, or was that fake as well?

It was more gentle because GZY is a soft boy 😄 But I really liked the execution of their first kiss involving YSX's hand movements. Then there was also the candy stealing kiss. Overall, I think they were the more romantic couple and worth watching for their development. GZY and his cheesy pickup lines were a highlight. You can just skip the last five minutes of the final episode(right after 2nd FML watered her flowers and it faded to black at minute 42:28, to be exact) and the story will still be fine without that depressing OE.

God I hate it so much that he uses substitutes or fake his kissing scenes. It drives me nuts 😂

Not until around 30s. I enjoyed this story more for the character of XW and everything that revolved around him rather than the romance, but you can see from others here that although it took long, the pay off was worth it.

When you get further, you will realize that SoKP has a better script and plot.

Ahh you GET his character 👏 and only after 2 episodes, which means the rest of the drama will be a breeze for you. Many did not get him, unfortunately, which led to a lot of character bashing that seeped into actor bashing. People failed to differentiate a character from its actor. I've seen some claimed that someone else playing GZY better wouldn't have made him come across as stupid. It was also heightened due to the director's choice of cutting a couple of key scenes which caused many to label him as "stupidly love brain". These details were revealed in the novel version, which is written by the director himself, so it was odd that he chose to destroy his own ML's image on screen (fans suspected foul play due to behind the scenes drama and favoritism). His character is exactly as you perceived, "foolish in love and goes all in". A sheltered boy raised with a pure heart whose default mode is seeing the good in people, not the bad. Poor ZLH had to create multiple long posts of character analysis dedicated to explaining the character of GZY on his weibo account due to all the hate. It showed how much he loved and understood the character.

Fun fact of the day: He was an electrical engineering major with a super high IQ in mathematics before being scouted to become an actor. MJTY was also filmed after SoKP so his acting only improved there.

It's actually not as bad as they make it seem and I like the campus feel. Definitely less cringe than other dramas of that type.

I'm glad they showed a full bts of it. I was really curious how they filmed the knife piercing scene. It looked so realistic.

I might go back and finish OFL as I dropped it the first time due to all the novel changes. I'm watching sparkle love right now. I started all the zlh dramas back when they came out because of him, but never managed to finish any of them. I will go back and complete them now. Flourish in time was sweet from the eps that I saw. I've also been spending a lot of time in the comment sections of douyin videos because they're hilarious, but there are a bunch of dirty minded hooligans who love to draw attention to his "package". And since he's a swimmer in sparkle love, there are quite a few scenes of him wearing swimmer's trunks and now I can't watch those scenes without noticing things 😅

The writer joked that XW is too smart already to have the extra benefit of past memories. He'd probably claim JXN within the first episode and we'd have no drama 😂

I think the family scenes conveyed a lot of affections from JXN that was missing after she accepted XW. Like her hugging him when she got freaked by the nightmare of him committing suicide and also the soft looks they gave each other throughout those scenes. Do watch the wedding special if you haven't. It's very sweet.

I'm just glad they even paired YFY up with LX in the drama. In the novel, she married a different dude while LX harbored unrequited love for her, which she never knew about. YFY in the novel was also reborn with her memories in tact. When she said "I thought you'd look at me like I was that person", she meant her past self since they had a close relationship previously. The drama kind of failed in converting this into the drama in a more satisfying way when taking out the rebirth element.
