It was hard watching it while it was airing because I was exposed to all the negativity from weibo and other places. It definitely lowered my enjoyment because I was frustrated for him as an actor. However, now that that period is over, you can watch it in one go in peace, you won't experience the same thing as his fans did. You'll probably notice some things, but it won't be amplified by outside noise. I also don't recommend watching the last five minutes of the last episode. It turns it from a good ending to a "wtf" ending. ZLH looked amazing in it and his acting very much embodied the character as well. So I think it's worth checking out.

After seeing all their interactions in fan cams and how their outfits coincidentally coordinated at scream night, I really need him and Tian Xiwei to have a modern drama together. They look so good together visually.

I like how he taught him to do the cave kiss scene and the cinnabar brush flashback scene lol. He's definitely responsible for ZLH getting screenshot- memed all over douyin for his terrible camera work, that's for sure.

Imagine if this drama was filmed by that director. It would've been absolutely gorgeous. I will give him credits for being able to direct ZLH in his scenes though. He taught him well how to bring the scenes to life.

I like NIF 2 better. Court politics and family dynamics give me similar feels to this drama. Imagine if YL had his story. The parts about big brother and father made me cry so much and it has a nice romance too, HE. Now I feel like rewatching it lol.
