Final thoughts: 1. I'm glad about the ending. A little bit rushed, but appropriate 2. The social media comments keep getting better ("I don't want this show to end." "I do." LMAO) 3. The Love Trick scenes were *chef's kiss* 4. I can't wait to see how they handle MostAchi's storyline. So far, Achi's been a b*tch and a bit homophobic so I'm intrigued by how they develop his character. The show has been doing a good job so far so I'm hopeful.
I need 8 more episodes of this. To hell with the cursed book. Go wild. Give me bickering boyfriends, meeting each other's family, making a brand new s*x tape. Their dynamic is too good 🌝🔥
"You already have someone" "Someone?" "THE GIRL AT THE CAFE" Yai bro 😭😭 you should've asked him "what about me, dick?! Me looking like a smitten idiot means nothing to you?!"
So far I'm not minding the slow pace. Many shows throw a bunch of unrelatable side characters together to support the lead and expect us to connect with them. So I'm grateful they set up the dynamics well before they got into university. That's not to say we need nine more episodes of typing and smiling at a black screen 💀
I've mixed feelings about the 3rd story. On one hand, I appreciate Peek isn't a character easy to root for. Human beings are contradictory and selfish, living their own realities and trying to get by. Peek is a snake, but underneath the bad attitude there's a lost and manipulated boy doing what he thinks is best for his family. If the point was to show the lengths some idols go to achieve success, they nailed it (imho). On the other hand, much like the 2nd story, I think it's becoming repetitive. Peek does something bad, lashes out at Kla, cries about it. Rinse and repeat. What about the crew group chat? I wish they could've shown us their meetings, the pressure they get from the sponsors, the fans, the ways they try to spin a narrative. All in all, I'll keep watching because I'm invested, but I wish they didn't drag the drama so much and instead focused on developing the MC's a little bit more for us to emphasize with them.
The trailer was good, the series is meh ... But that sentiment was subdued once I read the novel.... The trauma…
That's awful, sorry to hear that 😥 Makes you wonder why these producers pick low quality novels to make it into a series. I bet there's better ones out there
When the trailer came out, a friend told me to lower my expectations since the book is basically PWP without any substance. Maybe that's why I've been enjoying this so much. I was expecting the worst and actually it's not that bad. I'm a BL veteran, I've seen some shit 😂 One of my favorite aspects of this is that they somehow fit the 'assholes in love' trope. I like it when the main characters get antagonistic for no reason other than getting one up on the other and so they give as good as they get until they catch feelings.
I noticed how the interactions between the contestants look so fake, as if they know they need to be performing at all times to make themselves look good. It's the same feeling you get when you watch a reality show. So kudos to the production team once again.

War of Managers felt like 10 episodes long instead of five. It was mentally exhausting
