I'm glad King's role is to be supportive and useful to Uea instead of the aggressive, self-centered love interests we're used to. He f-cked up, but he was quick to correct his mistake. I get the feeling Uea wants to take things slow to see if they can work out as a couple and not to punish King.
The directing and edition are still awful, but it's a losing battle. Cheewin was determined to make the actors wait exactly five seconds between lines and there's nothing we can do about it except for watching at 1,5x speed. I'm invested in Uea's path to healing and that's all I care about.
All I care about is that Uea will send his stepdad to jail, tell his mom to f/uck off and seek therapy. He hasn't genuinely smiled since the drama started. He's all sad eyes and going through the motions. It's depressing to watch.
It's a fluffy short story with barely any plot, but all the actors did well. My main issue is that I found Ki Hoon to be unlikeable. He only has two facial expressions and his backstory came late enough that, by that point, I didn't care about it at all. It doesn't help Jun Hyung (MC) ran circles around him acting-wise and the chemistry wasn't there. I had to skip the kiss scenes. The scene with Ji Hoon and the part-timer was the highlight, imo.
I don't think Uea is in the closet, tho? His sexuality is like the one thing he seems confident about
Could be 🤔 Maybe he's worried about looking unprofessional if their colleagues know he's sleeping with King. Whatever it is, King should keep his hands to himself.
This is a dark horse. Good camera work, beautiful shots, straightforward plot and the acting, well. You feel like an intruder watching them. The actors have the chemistry to pull off the early stages of a blossoming romance, the intimacy of a committed relationship and the bitter heartbreak when everything falls apart. 10/10 would recommend.
- King outing Uea in front of their coworker is so not cool - I'm not a fan of Mr Kit harassing Uea out of nowhere, but we got possessive and jealous King so I'm not complaining much 🥵 - I'm glad we're seeing King and Uea spending time together outside of the bedroom. Oftentimes, with this trope, the couple catch feelings, but we don't get to see the progression. - All in all, if you don't set your expectations high it's pretty enjoyable. Yes, I prefer the more clichéd version of this trope where the couple are averse to commitment and sleep around a lot, but that's a me problem. - About the CSA... I'll wait to see how they handle it. Cheewin isn't trustworthy at all, but I like to think they didn't show Uea's past in technicolor only for shock value.
Was kind of thinking about the boundaries too. Like it’s okay for King to drag Uea around and breathe down his…
Exactly! Up until this point Uea has made it abundantly clear he only wants an FWB relationship. It's pretty obvious King has feelings for Uea, but that doesn't give him the right to feel him up in public or to throw a fit when Uea was talking to Gun. It's as if the scriptwriter doesn't know whether to make King a sympathetic, caring boyfriend or the typical toxic male lead that's so prevalent in BL dramas.
Just watched ep 2... So we're getting the "stare into each other's eyes in slow motion after the love interest…
"Why don't you temporarily move into my room?" Cue mellow music as King looks at Uea with hopeful eyes. Uea is left speechless. Five seconds pass. A wild coworker appears out of nowhere. "Kiiiing. Hurry up. A bug needs to be fixed immediately!"
Just watched ep 2... So we're getting the "stare into each other's eyes in slow motion after the love interest says something profound" treatment. I thought we were long past that.
And what's the deal with King? In one episode he respects Uea's boundaries but then he's groping him at work? It was so out of left field I thought Uea was having a nightmare lmao. I feel bad for the actor. He looks as confused as me watching this. He has to switch between thoughtful and infatuated to manipulative casanova in the span of two episodes.
I think Cheewin did a decent job with War of Y (direction wise), but this is not it. I'll keep watching though. Maybe it'll get better.
Three episodes in and I'm already obsessed. What was the misunderstanding? Do their families know about them? How long have they been together? I need at least 12 episodes of this
Final Episode 12: It finally let me go.This episode starts as every episode should have — with a banger picture…
"Palm's whole conversation is like, 'I have no personality other than my devotion to you'." This. So much. With all his flaws, at least Neung is a fleshed out character (as much as the script allows), but Palm's whole personality revolves around his duty/relationship with Mr Nueng... Now that I think about it, maybe it's Palm's dad's fault for raising his son like that. After all, the first thing he did out of jail was to chastise Palm for not taking care of Nueng. Sad!

- Palm speaking formally to his boyfriend - Calling Palm's mom's death an obstacle to their love - "this is the most happy I've ever been, nevermind my comatose mom" - the Christmas songs - Mr Nueng - "I love you. Let's be together forever" "Okay " *ten minutes later* *writes him a letter and runs away*
If you are wondering whether to watch this or not, my advice is to not take it too seriously and you'll be fine. The trailer leads you to believe it's a family drama with an intricate plot and two star-crossed lovers fighting an evil uncle. Instead you get a silly plot, average acting and poor writing. Once you realize how unserious everything is, it's actually pretty funny.

It's comedy gold.
