If you watched AvenueX’s video, though well explained, there are still some points missing. Although dubbed there are quite some dubbing is with actors or actresses own voices. It is basically the directors call. If he or she thinks the voice of the actor does not fit his or her understanding of the character, he/she would rather use a voice actor even if the actor can speek good mandarin and deliver perfect emotions. In this drama, i feel the director simply think CXXs actual voice is too old and mature for his role. Of course, the voice actor did a very good job too.

Yes, very similar but based on the info online, unfortunately it is not. A lot of fans said his real voice in the BTS is way better than dubbed voice, especially in the emotionally strong scenes like ep48 and 52.

They both are dubbed but their original voice and line deliver are super. You can check the BTS, especially CXX, his voice is powerful, deep and sexy. Unfortunately the director still decided to use dubbs. so pity.

lol. You are right and i was wrong. XFs brother was manipulated into the war with the belief it was the only way to redeem the dignity of XiZhou. LCY did not immediately chase after XF after she fell from the wall. I fastforwarded the first half of ep52. too eager to see the ending. and too much influence from the spoilers. My bad. :-P

lol, new point of view. Well, i feel the delusion is real yet the guilt is also real, otherwise he would have other women and have kids like normal. It was a delusion which deep in his heart he knew XF was gone but he had to believe it otherwise he could not make it through the long lonely years. It is a way better ending than in the novel, where he had concubines and kids. He left the empress position empty though. The novel LCY is more ruthless than the drama LCY. But the novel LCY only loved XF. Sese is never the third wheel, no childhood sweetheart thing, only use and manipulation. Actually the whole Zhao family and Sese was killed in the end. yes, novel LCY is really crazy.

From the political point of view, Xi Zhou and the Li Empire would hardly get into the war level. Li Empire clearly used two methods for its neighbors. For the powerful hostile one, they used gun, to kill. For the weak friendly one, they used the rose, hence the marriage between the aunt of LCY and XFs father and then XF and LCY. Xi Zhou was mentioned as a small, rich yet not militarily strong kingdom. It has a high diplomatic position among all westen kingdom or tribes because of its good relationship with the Li Empire and DanChi, plus its super geographical location: trademen form western tribes had to pass Xi Zhou to enter Li, the vice verses. If Li really wanted to take over XiZhou, it would be very easy but they will not do it just for political reasons. XiZhou is their best buffer to all other western kingdoms. kind of agent roll for them. Saved them a lot of money and manpower to control the western kingdoms.

Anyway, LCY lead army to chase XF more out of madness, fear of losing XF. He forgot his duty as the Crown Prince. He always put politics thinking before affection but this time he lost it. Of course such reckless behavior could be used by certain schemers to turn it into a real war. XF stopped it with her life.

No, she is the princess from XiZhou only. Don’t think one can inherit prince or princess title from the maternal side at that time.^_^. She was the only daughter from her mother. It did not mention if her mother had a son or not. But all her siblings are still alive as well as the clanmen in XiZhou. The war was between Dan Chi and Li. Xi Zhou were not involved.

When XF was dying, she asked LXY to fulfill her third wish, to live on after her death. In my opinion it was a punishment for him, since he so wanted to die with her as before. So he lived alone, became a good emperor, gave his throne to the son of his brother since he did not have any offsprings. Then he decided to look for XF. To that point he was alredy crazy. He believed XF was not dead, she was hiding in Xi Zhou. So he went into the desert without food and water. In his imagination he saw XF in her red XiZhou dress sitting there and waiting for him. The ending was subtle. It implied the suicidal death of LCY.

It was Dan Chi, her grandpas clan, which was destroyed. XF is from XiZhou. Her country was intact, except her mother (suicided because she was from Dan Chi) and her father (became carzy because of the death of his wife). Her brothers and sisters were all there, mentioned in dialogues only.

Totally agree. And Chen Xing Xu was only 21 year old, a year three Uni student, when he was shooting this drama. Amazing performance. It is so funny that he looks older than his real age while the FL (27 during shooting) looks way younger than her real age. Then IRL, their characters are totally reversed in their interaction. Peng Xiao Ran is the dominant elder sister and Chen Xing Xu is the clueless, innocent younger brother. lol. so cute.

It is lame to slap Xiao Feng but not because he really thought XF was the mastermind. It was obviously a play in front of spies like always. He always had some plans. A smart jerk who could even use the girl he loved. The good thing is that XF slapped back, even louder. hahahahaha.It is the first drama that i’m so looking forward to a bad ending. Living lonely, endless regretting for the rest of his life. Would be such a perfect ending. :-) Don’t get me wrong. I like this drama. The protagonist ist the biggest antagonist. Such a freshing character setting. :-)

This is a slow-burn slice of life drama. So different from all the action packed dramas these days. very refreshing and full of widom of life. Slow, elegant and super addictive.

Viki changed it to 76 eps as well. Viki is using the director cut version.

That is the ending in the book. :-) As for the drama, with all the trailers and judging from the number of unaired eps, by the end of the drama, she should have at least one son.

Most dramas end with that the couple are finally together, then leave the happily ever after thing to our imagination. :-) So happy that there is one drama actually shows us what is this ever after life.
