There could be so many if in this drama, the whole story could be different from the beginning. :-)

But if it is really so, I would say only if Run Yu steps down from the Heavenly Emperor position, Jin Mi and he could be a happy couple. I could not imagine the life as the Heavenly Empress for Jin Mi. Her carefree and soft hearted nature is not for the complicated Heavenly Court. It will be painful to see her to bend herself to fit in. Sorry, I love Jin Mi more than Xu Feng and Run Yu. :-D

Well, actually if we start talking about the family issues, Jin Mi could hardly go on with either Phoenix or Night. They share the same father anyway. Phoenix mother did awful things to Jin Mi's Mum and Jin Mi. Night mother tried to use Jin Min. Night hid the truth of the real murder of Jin Mi's father, without whom he and his mother would actually be dead long time ago. Not really much point to calculate this. Otherwise there should not be any love stories like Romeo and Juliet. It is a drama land. :-)

I love the story line of Night, especially the revenge part. But when it comes to love, I still root for Xu Feng and Jin Mi. They are all born with love from the family and friends, naive, a bit reckless and straightforward. They use their instinct to love. Xu Feng firmly believed Jin Mi love him not Night. Jin Mi never actively touched any young male other than Xu Feng, actually she touched him immediately from day 1. They were just attracted to each other without self-awareness. Soul-mate for me.

As for Night, it is heartbreaking to see how much he struggled for love. But love is love. It does not work like: I did so much for you, then you should give how much love to me. It never works this way, otherwise there won't be so many unhappy couples. To be fair, if Jin Mi has to love Night because he did so much for her, what about Kuang Lu? The girl loved him so much. She went with him through all the ups and downs till the end. She did so much for Night. Why does he not love her?

I actually really root for Night and Kuang Lu. Kuang Lu will be a good career and life partner. Really wish he could notice the girl next to him all the time and no longer be so lonely.

I think what pikajun meant is that it was Night using tricks to settle the engagement, which the past Water Deity was planning to cancel it. Then all the mess followed.

A lot happened in the next 6 eps. Xu Feng started to sense the suspicion about Sui He. And Jin Mi finally knew all the schemings of Run Yu. Very intense.

Well, actually he never hated her. Xu Feng is a complicated character. He hated the betray but he could not help love her. He was tortured between the hatred and love. Don't worry, things will get better soon. At Ep57, his love for Jin Mi was unexpectedly exposed in public. :-D

The water, wind and flower Deity are all disciples of Lord DouMu. Their power was given by their master and their blood. Since Lord DouMu has a higher position than the Heavenly Emperor (not in a political way but more a spiritual or religious way), her disciples are all high immortals. Although they served the Heavenly Court but they stayed relative independent from the system. Yes, Jin Mi will inherit the power and stay in a similar position like them in the court if nothing goes wrong.

Well, it is a drama. So when the past Water Deity was weak, Sui He happened to give the strike. :-D But why the Heavenly Emperor did not chase after this murder case. One reason is of course because of Xu Feng, the prime suspect could be his son. The other reason is that he actually kind of relieved. He respected the past Water Deity but also a bit feared him, a subordinate who is difficult to be controlled, at least not in his way. The wife did know her husband. The killing plan worked and Suihe escaped without any followups.

Well, she got the power of the empress and nobody was aware of it. A great chance to attack without revealing herself. why not? They (Birdies) wanted to kill him all the time anyway. In their mind, the past Water Deity is Run Yu's strongest supporter and their biggest threat. This kill is more political than personal and well planned. As for the kill of Jinmi, it is more personal though, more unrational.

The drama did not specifically say it. But it did indicate the creatures in lakes and rivers are all under his authority and protection. For example, Night Deity's mom is originally from Lake Tai and after her tribe was killed, she was saved and arranged as the ruler of Lake Dong Ting by the past Water Deity. The past Heavenly Emperor tried to reduce his influence among the water creatures, hence the seduction of Su Li and all the tragedies afterwards.

I would say yes. In chinese mythology, human can become immortal after enough cultivation. Jin mi can easily become immortal again with the help from Xu Feng. Their son is a water bird: water element is from Jin Mi of course. So Jin Mi is definitely now Water God again. Only they chose to live like mortals.

Xu Feng put that pedal in his soul, therefore there is a connection between them. When Jinmi destroyed it, he felt it, and he knew then. Thats why when he searched for her on the snow mountain, looking at all the snowflakes, he said it’s not you. He was looking for a snow flake with only five pedals... awwwwww, recall theses, making me so sad....

Well said. I'm super satisfied with the story and character developments in the early and ending episodes. But the middle 10 episodes is a bit lacking for the character developments of both male lead and female lead. Hence the story is not so convincing on their side. On the other side, the Night Deity's story is really well written, therefore so many people like him even when he turns to the dark side. Well, but overall, it is a nice full circle for me. :-)

Glad to see such post. Actually I think it is really the fault of the scriptwriters. I do like the background story of Run Yu and the love story of the demon princess but I do think they occupied a bit too much screen time.
If the run-and-chase plots of the demon princess and Mu Ci were cut in half, we could use the time to dig deeper into the background story of Xu Feng. Like what your friend observed, with so much expectation and "love" from people around him, he did not become a spoiled kid, instead he ran around all the battlefields, gaining fame as the God of War with all kinds of scars over the body. Why? why he chose this road? There is so many things to explore yet nothing were mentioned in the scripts, leaving us a male lead image without much character depth and as someone who only cares about romance. Even the power fighting as the Demon Lord was limited to the minimum - well, storytelling from Lord Puchi....
So pity. It is the biggest issue of the story for me. Well, I still love the drama. All the acting, CGI effects, settings, costumes, etc are on spot.

It is a really a treat to see so many young talented actors and actresses with both good looks and good acting skills in one drama, especially DL, YZ and LYX. Hope to see more of their quality dramas in the future. My only complain or wish is that, LYX, the actor of the Night Deity, could gain more weights. Sometimes when he was with YZ, i felt he is younger and even skinnier than YZ. I actually wondered if he could carry her :-). Maybe that’s why i root DL with YZ than him. :-D The funny thing is that LYX is 30. He is actually the oldest among all young actors and actresses.

Deng Lun looks 10 times hotter as the Demon Lord. :-D The new hairstyle and the dark dresses really suit him better.

Yes, happy ending with a proper closure for nearly all story lines and characters. :-) But the journey is really up and down. sometimes it is really painful to see them suffer. buckets of tears. T_T

Well, a lot of angst caused because of this pill, especially 40+eps. Heart-wrench alert!

The human Realm arc happens around 20+ eps. It is the sweetest moment since they has mutual affections and JM started to feel love because the pill started to crack. Actually even before that there are already some signs to show she has some strange feeling or chest pain during some sweet moments with XF in the heaven realm.

That's why in the end they decided to stay in the mortal world with their son. The memory of that life in the human world means a lot for them. Super sweet~~~~
