The initial episodes are better than I thought. Jang Ki Yong is looking handsome as always. It is my first watching Lee Hye Ri and she is doing a great job.
Since it’s a fantasy drama, I wonder who will be the antagonist.

This drama was a delightful surprise. It’s rare to find such dramas from c-dramaland. Like you, I also wish to watch such brilliant productions.

I love learning about China’s history through dramas but most of them become senseless in the later half.

A beautiful and detailed article. I was wondering why no one wrote a post for this gem. You guys did well.
It has been very exciting for me to watch it every week and now that it’s about to end (subbed episodes), I don’t know what I will do.

Despite its flaws, it was an entertaining watch. I loved watching the court intrigue. It would have been much better if there was more screentime for the MC and of course no stupid misunderstandings. Also, there was no need to butcher last few episodes.

I gave up on Royal Nirvana after the Crown Princess's death. The Emperor's habit of constantly finding faults with the Crown Prince annoyed me. I know he needed to groom his son for the throne but I was still very irritated.

I first saw Li Yi Tong in Bloody Romance. Since then, I became her fan. But also, I was not able to finish any of her new works. This one started well but later got infected with usual c-drama's disease. I am only watching because of good acting of the cast members.

Then, I will do that after completing it. :)

I loved 'Bloody Romance'. It showcased her real talent. All actors did well in that one but the plot was a little bloody as the title says.
I have not tried 'Legend of the Condor Heroes' but if its fast paced, I will give it a try next week. Thank you for recommending it.

I've been watching it since the beginning, because of Li Yi Tong. Her last costume dramas 'Royal Nirvana' and 'Sword Dynasty' didn't live up to my expectations.
In the 'Royal Nirvana', the Crown Prince was always crying, almost in every episode and was too depressing. In 'Sword Dynasty', Li Yi Tong 's voice was dubbed weirdly. I just couldn't get into that one.
I really hope Li Yi Tong chooses at least one better script than these.

The first half was great but the later half went downhill with all rushed events and stupid misunderstandings.
I am only hooked because of the cast members. They did well in playing their respective roles. Also, the costume and representation of court ladies are done meticulously. I started it because of Li Yi Tong but ended up adoring all the actors.

It’s the beginning of the rushed ending and of course, the production team cut a lot of scenes. But at least, they should not have cut short the reunion of Chumu and Fu Rou.

Bad editing. From what I heard, the production team has to cut some scenes due to censorship.

Fu Rou is the ultimate Mary Sue except of course in her love life.

It definitely lived up to its expectations and didn’t went downhill like most of the c-dramas. And, these young actors did well in playing there roles.
