When too much romance is used in this type of drama, the plot becomes a mess.

Does the closure explain everything in the main plot ? If that’s the case, then it would be indeed a very good ending. I believe it is a mystery drama and romance was only icing on the cake.

Yeah. 'The Imperial Coroner' is currently the best airing costume drama. It avoids all the stupid plots that viewers hate. If you understand Mandarin, you can watch upto 30 or 32 episodes.
I lost my interest in 'Miss the dragon' after 7 episodes. I think the characters are not much interesting .

From what I read here on MDL, the author of the original novel didn't want to be the screenwriter but Yu Zheng convinced her somehow.

It's like the screenwriter ran out of ideas in the second half. That Yu Zheng, despite all plagiarism allegations, he's still getting jobs in the industry and ruining the dramas with good potential.

Don’t worry. Historically, there was no sudden change of monarch during the current Tang emperor’s reign. Duke Chang’s ambitions will not be fulfilled.
