I didn't know that Yu Zheng was accused of plagiarism. And, I am also surprised with the screenwriter's work. With much experience, she should have done better.

From past experiences with costume c-dramas, I should have waited for it to finish airing. But, Li Yi Tong and Xu Kai's pairing was irresistible to me. Sigh...

Contrary to what has been advertised, this drama shows more of the royal family than the romance of Fu Rou & Sheng Chumu.
Despite the good costume and talented cast members, this drama has become a mess.
In future, I will avoid anything related to this director. I hope Li Yi Tong & Xu Kai chose a better project in future.

I like how this drama censors the dead bodies and explains everything through various diagrams. This makes it more fun to watch.

I have a hard time viewing surgeries/autopsies in k-dramas. That’s why I avoid those.

I don't trust MDL's ratings for on-air dramas these past few months. I don't know what algorithm MDL follows but it's terrible and confusing.
If the comment section is full of positive discussion, then it's definitely a good drama. No need to turn down a drama due to low score.

They better give a happy ending to this couple or else...

The Eunuchs were not like what they are shown in most c-dramas i.e. funny, clever, helpful. In China's long history of imperial dynasties, they were known to hold power and secretly fought for it. This drama's portrayal of eunuchs, is somewhat closer to the reality.

I wanted to like him but he is turning out to be a scumbag. Also, Chumu needs to trust Fu Rou a little more. He should have seen through the tricks of Prince Zhou.

This drama reminds me of ‘The Ancient Detective’ where I was surprised unexpectedly. The ML & FL leads are doing well in terms of acting and suspense/mystery level is on the point.

Emperor Gaozong should be the youngest son of the Empress, who is still a kid in this drama. Not sure about the consort.

That's what made me confused. I did not thought Prince Han would be same as Li Tai, because Li Tai seemed to scheme against Li Chengqian.
Prince Han doesn't seem cunning like Li Tai, but who knows.

It's complicated due to all characters here are fictional due to censorship. I believe crown prince's real historic name is 'Li Chengqian'. Not sure about Prince Zhou.

Fu Shui will probably entice the insecure CP to lead a coup against the emperor. Historically, it should fail and will result in the CP getting deposed and exiled.
Prince Han might become the next Crown Prince temporarily but will face the same fate as the Emperor will blame him for the his eldest son's fall. It should happen after the Empress' death.

Probably the later. He will confuse the Crown Prince with his appearance and will make some serious trouble for the imperial family.

What's all fuss about Allen Ren? I believe nothing is wrong with this drama or his acting skill. He is playing his character pretty well.
I personally prefer less intimate scenes, more sensible plot & character development.
