It’s Qingming, the Chinese festival/holiday designated for visiting ancestors’ graves. It wasn’t some sort of plan on his part. It’s just a cultural holiday. They mention it early in the episode.

Multi-season series are really a western thing. Asian dramas are typically one season and most are based on novels. It would be interesting to see a longer multi-season series especially if it were a BL, but unfortunately that’s not the way the Asian tv industry is structured. The most we can hope for is a special episode, movie, or potentially a second season if they can prove it would be profitable. But it would be pretty much unheard of for it to go beyond that.

so those end of the year 2023 rumors that a chinese bl would drop early in 2024 was true! just unexpectedly it would not be a lifting of the ban but rather the heroic act of an employee “accidentally” hitting the “upload” button 78 times.

unfortunately china has to approve international distribution too so it’s not a matter of finding a distributor to purchase the rights. we know gaga would jump at the chance if the chance even existed.

No. Kiseki just means miracle in Japanese and the show names are pure coincidence.

I mean it’s pretty pivotal to the plot in this one.

This review is great encouragement to keep watching the drama. I started it while it was nearing it’s conclusion and there was so much vitriol in the comments I decided to table the drama for the time being and wait for more insightful takes. Up to episode 7, where I had left off, I quite liked the show but was worried I would waste my time later. We all know how a good drama can go bad in later episodes. I’m personally someone who appreciates complex characters and character-driven plots. I am going to continue this drama now with your review as a bit of extra motivation. :)

In 2017, he was in a side BL pairing with Drake in the series Slam Dance.

They also have a lot their most popular BL couples not assigned any series in part 1, so I expect we will see a lot of familiar pairings in part 2.

Personally I think it will be about the same ratio of BL to non-BL, or perhaps slightly more balance as part 1 is heavily weighted in BL. I doubt they will have a higher non-BL ratio though. BL is their moneymaker and their non-BL series just don’t bring as much attention to the company.

He did though. Jade Lovers was filmed years ago but never released due to the beef between Korea and China. It will probably never see the light of day especially now that the FL was canceled in China.

as more rumors circulate and more hints that immortality, winner is king, and eternal faith (among others) might finally begin airing this year, my mind has begun to swing to a fear that one will begin airing and then get pulled after only a few episodes and we’ll return to this endless hell of a ban.

I’m only about half way through AJTL and I’m blown away by HLD’s performance particularly in episode 16. She absolutely ate.
