I’m about to start the “Original Version” on iqiyi. I hate dubbing in general so I’m happy to be giving an option without it. I hope this becomes common practice in the future.

“They are on the same page, but convinced they are in separate books.” This quote originally about Ray and Sand in Only Friends also fits Yoh’s perspective of his relationship with Mizuki. We could also say that from Mizuki’s perspective he’s convinced they are in the same book and trying to get on the same page but Yoh didn’t even realize they were reading.

Misunderstandings compounded by lack of communication is and has always been my absolute least favorite trope and yet I’m obsessed with this story.

If I had stronger willpower I’d wait for this to finish and binge it in one sitting. But I don’t so I have to suffer this endless torture of waiting for little morsels of the story doled out more sporadically than is normal.

They are still announcing the cast so despite all the big names they’ve confirmed so far, they still haven’t announced the main characters.

I disagree. Dangerous Romance flashbacks are of moments we have already seen without any new context or pov, which feels lazy, repetitive, and like a waste of time. The flashbacks used in Love in Translation are almost entirely re-contextualized or include entirely new information or scenes we were never shown. It’s a very effective story telling tactic to keep information from the viewer until it’s most pertinent and impactful. I also find the progression of the story to be extremely satisfying and sharp with appropriate pacing and balance.

As an over 30 myself, I latch onto each and every over 30 BL actor I find. Collecting them like Pokémon.

This series is adorable and funny. Y’all are crazy for hating it so much. It’s not a masterpiece but it’s delightful.

Once again I am glad I don’t listen to MDL reviews or ratings. This is loads better than My Day (and I liked (most of) My Day). There are some poor editing choices here and there but I really enjoy all the storylines and characters. Love the chemistry between Fifth and Zeke’s actors obviously, but I also love how well Miko and Teejay play off one another.

The last three episodes were overly drawn out and boring but I enjoyed the majority of the series. Ja and First are good actors and I hope they both continue to find success even apart. Bosston once again stole my heart. I’ll follow him to the ends of the earth. Loved his chemistry with Jo even if their storyline was lacking.

Caught up in time for the final two episodes this week and wow I love this a lot more than I expected after the first two episodes.

It’s a Thai pronunciation thing. Sky is often shortened to Ky (sounds like Guy) because for Thai speakers the “sk” sound is a challenge to pronounce and it’s easier to jump to the k.

The “Gay for You” trope literally only happens in a handful of BL series and almost never in anything produced after 2021 and hasn’t remotely been confirmed in this series so far. Also, queer identities are very complex, nuanced, and broad. Many queer people don’t even discover their queerness until their 20s or even 30s.

The B in LGBTQ is not silent.

I think people confuse bad with low budget. They obviously didn’t have much money to make this series but it’s pretty good considering those constraints.
