they can't make an open gay character in Korean tv so probably they will adapt it to be lovers.....
They absolutely can and have had gay characters on Korean tv (broadcast not just webseries). China is the one that bans lgbtq characters. This is going to be based on a book that was a massive cultural touchstone in Korea. There is no way they would or could change it to be heterosexual.
I really liked the first episode ❤️But why they were calling Sky and Pai as Bride and Groom... Call them Groom…
Nuance in the translation that wasn't clear. Nuea references how the most important part of the wedding are the bride and groom. The shot then lingers on Pai before moving to Sky and Nuea says something that can be understood as being along the lines of saything "in this case a groom (rather than a bride)." It's very challenging to translate Thai into English. So much context is lost in translation or there isn't much context to begin with in the original Thai (as much Thai language requires the listener to infer context) so translators struggle to make things make sense in English (especially those that translate on iq).
It doesn't need to pass censorship. It's not airing in China. It's not technically even a Chinese production as…
I was thinking the exact same thing about all those fully filmed danmei series sitting on shelves at the moment. There is certainly hope for those series to potentially be internationally released, or for remakes to be produced outside MC (or by foreign production companies). But that does require a lot of money, so we have to show that we are willing to continue to support Chinese BL (or even bromance) internationally. And it is certainly a risk for all the Chinese actors and filmmakers involved. It's showing a lot of courage on their parts to be willing to take this risk.
People complaining here that this is a bromance didn't watch the way Wu Bi keeps glancing at Su Yu and what about…
It doesn't need to pass censorship. It's not airing in China. It's not technically even a Chinese production as it's produced by Taiwan, just set in China.
Did anyone notice that there are some scene in school has someone just walk out in the background? And I don't…
great detail! this is definitely one of those shows where everything means something. you’re absolutely not thinking too much. think more actually. lol
Am I going insane? Shin turned 18 in the first season. They literally had a birthday party for him. So why are…
I feel like that was a translation error but I don’t know any Japanese so I can’t work it out myself. My guess is it should say he’s barely just turned 18.
Cillachandler, πραγματικα ειναι κατακριτεα η συμπεριφορα αυτη των…
They use Buddhist temples in BL series all the time though. The use of Christian churches in any Thai media at all let alone LGBTQ media is actually relatively new. But pretty much every Thai series (not just the BL ones) will have at least one scene in a Buddhist temple or involve some aspect of demonstrating Buddhism within the cultural life of the characters.
There's been a ton of review bombing on this drama (from 8.6 to 7.8 currently). There seems to be a faction of…
This one is being particularly hard hit because of the worry over it being a censored bromance instead of a full fledged BL. It honestly very good and as of yet no one knows if it's actually going to be censored or not, so it's being review bombed from all sides.
