Rewatched the opening clips of each episodes as suggested by some insightful members here and here is the breakdown:
EP1-2, 6-7 is a series of one their meetings post ep9 or at least both mature and working. LWJ wearing dark trenchcoat.
EP8-9 is another meeting with LWJ wearing a light trenchcoat similar to the last episode's airport scene.
So they do meetup from time to time but it doesn't really say they are in a relationship and happily in-love as both are looking serious and somewhat distant (literally: no smile or physical contact.)
what maturity? Eventhough she is serious she just let go of his (ML) hand and will go with the ex ? (producer)…
Did you by any chance finished it?
I agree at that point (let go of his hand and left with the Manager) DooNa was at fault. You have to take inconsideration that LDN was a wounded & lost soul at that time. I honestly think she needed to see a psychiatrist. (But making a comeback fixed that.)
After that scene though she tried to make up for it and fought for LWJ but he didn't have guts to fight for their love.
After going back on stage she came back to see LWJ multiple times but was rejected everytime until the last episode where LDN bravely confronted and forced him to confess. So in this drama I looked down on the ML.
Expected more....8/10The story was promising, acting was great. Yet, 40 episode for this was too long, too much.
Somewhat similar sentiments.. I initially rated at 9.5 but after the ending brought it down to 8.5.
It is a happy ending but how they compressed the resolution into the just the final episode I felt cheated and disappointed. It was too quick and light, like a walk in the park, that I didn't feel the vindication.
Maybe me binged watching Love Like the Galaxy and now into The Story of Ming Lan while waiting for this to end was a wrong move. Both are heavyweights (with strong female leads) which somehow distorted my overall view and expectations for AYTO. Glad I didn't need to pay the express to be able to finish it π
On another note, I watched this because of WCR but at the end, the character I was rooting for is Empress Xueji. I am happy for her.
Ep5 is a good one. The drama is finally getting more interesting.
It revealed glimpses of mutual feelings for the OTP. It seems (or just my wishful thinking) that the "him" FL admitted of loving still is not the ex-fiance but the ML. But of course, the ML misunderstood. Did something significant happen between the ML and the FL when (or after) he went to visit her in the US?
The kid's name and father were finally revealed. A bit funny and ironic when 2FL seemed hurt when the "little friend" declared she will not speak to her again after 2FL scolded her father for her sake. I was actually suspecting the father reporter as a psycho stalker of the 2FL, but it seems not..
The feminist conspiracy to look down ml to the highest point succeded...just consoling my mind with their electrifying…
Yup, still can't forget when CXZ was totally serious of asking the final question if she will take him or not, pouring his heart and soul out. And then she had the guts to toy with him, playing with words seeming to reject him, but not.
Some may find that sweet and harmless playfulness. But I didn't..
LMT was too casual and confident of his love for her to be able to act that way. It was all about CXZ giving and LMT receiving (or refusing).
Glad it is starting to look good now with her dressing his wound, cooking for him and her going back with him to his fiefdom.
I feel you. Watching JSM in Love Next Door and the wait is just....
I also mentioned the waiting sentiment as I am a total newbie to airing dramas. πLND is my very first right at episode 1. While this one (AYTO) was already at ep22 when I started.

Hmmm.. Too early to say if it's good. It's ok so far, nothing great. Opening eps is comedic but recent ones are now showing more drama and angst. Mainly watching since I luv JSM. π
It kinda make sense since it will be more memorable for viewers compared to just being a normal happy ending drama.
Thanks!

So it's still an open ending for me.

LMT love bar finally made a progress, moving up to 25%. Still a long way to go to catch-up to CXZ's 100% π
Still watching though as I am a sucker for beautiful FL, and WCR is just a pleasure to watch. The best visuals IMO.
