What's going on in Douban? Rating: 5.0and mostly negative comments ranting about bad quality fighting scenes compared…
They are just jealous. Right off the bat, they were claiming AoS is a rip off of some cdrama, which of course is not true. And they probably can't accept that K-dramas, including AoS have so much more international success that nothing they had came close.
Doesn't really mean much if they are on different platform? It's basically how many subscribers having access…
Thanks, where do you read that Big Mouth is #1 in streaming? Did they also talk about the numbers? I never found Netflix's release on country streaming numbers. I only found global total streaming hours viewed and country ranking. EAW has been #1 in Netflix in Korea for weeks but I was not able to get the actual hours viewed or number of viewers.
they probably try to bring rating down below Alchemy Of Souls and Extraordinary Attorney Woo 🤦♀️
Attorney Woo is NOT a slice of life drama. It's a legal drama with different legal cases in each episode. Where do you read that Big Mouth is #1 in Korea? All the numbers I see, TV ratings, streaming, it is no where near #1.
It's pretty cool that Big Mouth is officially out-streaming Extraordinary Attorney Woo in Korea, despite not being…
Doesn't really mean much if they are on different platform? It's basically how many subscribers having access to the streaming. It's only comparable if they are available on the same service. I still find it absurd that Disney is not showing k-dramas in so many markets. Because they own the rights, the dramas are not available in any other service outside Korea either. Seriously, if they don't plan to show it, then don't buy the overseas rights and allow others to stream it! What are they thinking?
How did you get this data please? I've checked but i haven't seen any good source
Official Netflix web site updated weekly: https://top10.netflix.com/ They also have a downloadable Excel file with all the past data, from which you can calculate the cumulative hours viewed. This is much better than flixpatrol which uses ranking which can be misleading and inaccurate.
To be honest, I really was hoping AoS could do much better. These are decent numbers but not amazing.Currently,…
On the contrary, I feel that fantasy drama is its strong selling point as there are very few other dramas, especially k-dramas, for this genre. And no, it is no where close to Twenty Five Twenty One, which has a total of 171.6 million hours viewed. AoS has a total of 91.8 million hours viewed as of last week, so it would probably end up around 130+ million mark at the end of its run. AoS would still be considered a hit, as I said, its numbers are decent. But they could have hit a home run as this show has so much potential.
AoS is #4 on Netflix's Top 10 Non-English TV Shows this week with 20.1 million hours watched. It was also Top…
To be honest, I really was hoping AoS could do much better. These are decent numbers but not amazing. Currently, AoS ranks #15 in K-dramas in Netflix since June 2021. It *may* be able to make it to Top 10 if viewership maintains for the last 2 weeks. These are based on the number of hours viewed for streaming. I feel that it would have done much better with a fewer episodes, faster pace story both domestically and internationally.
Latest Neflix global weekly (Aug 1 to Aug 7) streaming numbers: EAW #1 TV Show Non-English, 67 million hours #2 overall English + Non-English just behind The Sandman 69.5 million hours.
It is now #5 most watched K drama in Netflix since June 2021, and should easily move to #3 spot in 2 weeks.

Don't speculate too much on English translation. It has nothing to do with the Korean titles. My guess was that it was simply a place holder for the proper English name. The Korean title 환혼 (Hwanhon) literally means Return of the Soul; but it should mean more like Resurrection in this context. But if you just put it in Google Translate, it would give different translation as it can mean different things in different context.
It was never titled "Return" in Korean, so don't read too much in the translation.
EAW currently ranked #6 in Netflix most watched K-Drama (total hours viewed) since June 2021 (that's when Netflix started releasing weekly viewership stats).
It's currently behind #1 Squid Game #2 All of us are dead #3 Hometown Cha Cha Cha #4 Business Proposal #5 My Name. #6 Extraordinary Attorney Woo
At current trajectory, it should bypass My Name to move to #5 spot by next week. And unless viewership drops significantly, it should move past Hometown Cha Cha Cha and Business Proposal in the final 2 weeks to be 3rd most watch Netflix K-drama since June 2021. And #1 for K-drama with no English Dub (Squid Game and All of us are dead have English Dub and should have much higher viewerships in english speaking and western countries).
3 episodes are a LONG TIME in drama world.
So there will be no cliffhangers, and nothing in the story is for setting up future episodes.
Before feeling "disappointed" at your speculated ending?
