Title Idol: The Coup Spoiler
If you come here to check if you should watch this drama? Go watch it, it is worth watching.
The irony.
This ends up being a failed drama about a failed idol group.
Similar to the idol group in the story, this drama did not get the support it deserved, almost no promotion and shown in a late night timeslot, not optimal for the target audience of this drama.
But unlike the story, there is no fairy tale ending as ratings continued to suffer. It is disheartening to see that all the efforts put in by the cast and staff went unwatched.

For me, it is a very underrated drama, and I like the fact that most characters were played by real idols. All except Stella in Cotton Candy are real idols, and it makes it so much more convincing. The singing and the dancing were good as expected. Most of the cast in Mars are trainees or having previous auditioned for idols or survival shows.
It gives you a glimpse of the reality of the fate of most idol aspirers, which is failure (I think the stats given in the drama is that there are about 320 idols / 60 groups debuting EACH YEAR in Korea, and how many of them become successful?)

Unpopular opinion: Korea doesn't know how to make dorama without putting in romance when it doesn't even need…
I feel that Romance plays a very important role in this drama as it can show the audience that autistic people can fall in love and get married too. Many people have the misconception that autistic people have no feelings and cannot fall in love. Some audience even think autistic people or Woo have a child like mental age (and this is not true, they can be fully mature individual like Woo).
I am glad that there is Romance in this drama as it genuinely needs it to clear some misconceptions.

According to various internet sources (and perhaps "translation" has something to do with it), the series has…
That's because if you use Google Translate, "환혼" would show as marriage or remarriage. The same word can have different meanings in different context. For example "환" can mean return, but it can also mean a "Ring".
And in this case, since the magic spell which shift souls is called "환혼술" (Hwanhonsul), it definitely doesn't mean marriage.

Why Return was the original title? and the description changed and there is an official article from naver which…
Most likely a place holder when the official English title has not not been decided.
Because the English title "Alchemy of Souls" has no resemblance to the Korean title.
The Korean title "환혼" (Hwanhon) literally means "Return of the Soul" (환 - return; 혼 - soul) though used together, it means more like "Resurrection" in this context. I am just guessing that they simply used Return until the official English title is decided.

Watching both MDL and EAW. Loving both. MDL is on cable TV so the ratings of 6-7% is pretty decent. MDL is fun…
Your comments could be taken the wrong way by some readers here. A number of posters have made numerous complaints about "infantilizing" autistic people, and your "Woo is like a little girl with big brains" is exactly what they don't want to hear.
In fact, no, many autistic people are mature (and Woo as an example in this case) and they do not have lower mental age than their actual age, unlike the mentally disabled victim in the last episode.
The ML has hesitated for a few episodes already worrying about the exact thing you pointed out. And I think romance in EAW played an important role in educating people that autistic people are mature individual, and they can fall in love and get married too.

Wdym? In terms of ratings?
No, MDL rankings. Nothing to do with TV ratings.
Currently, Running Man is sitting at #1 spot for all time highest rated shows in MDL.
And MDL ranks TV shows with dramas together

I can imagine how popular Woo Youngs haircut soon will be and her outfits, shoes and clothes, bags. 😀
Yes and props/decorations too, the whale clock and the whale key chains were completely sold out.

I still don't understand how "Running Man" is ranked #1. I mean it's good and fun, but not "all-time-best-ever"…
I am not looking down on variety shows, but in this web site, it is being ranked in the same list as dramas and I don't think that makes sense at all.
And I also don't feel that Running Man is the all time best shows ever which the number 1 rank seems to suggest. Its popularity has plummeted in recent years from its heyday.

I'm just here to celebrate that this is the highest rated drama on MDL and I couldn't be happier
I still don't understand how "Running Man" is ranked #1. I mean it's good and fun, but not "all-time-best-ever" good. And not all episodes are good either, it can be boring and repetitive sometimes, or even cringe or painful to watch. Reality shows shouldn't be ranked the same as dramas which involves acting skills, productions, scripts, OSTs etc

Based on the doctor expert witness, the victim does not have the mental capacity to say no to protect herself. So the accused is viewed as taking advantage of this vulnerability and being punished for that. Legally, he was definitely guilty, not much doubt about that.
The more difficult question is whether there can be real love and how you can protect an mentally disabled person when she doesn't have the capacity to say no.

We're down to the last six episodes with no release date of part 2. It looks like we will be left in a big cliffhanger…
Early indication is that the release date is most likely in December.

Let me guess... you are fan of LJW?
LJW's role is much easier to play to be honest.
JSM's is the hardest of all the characters in this drama, by far, and I think she has done a great job so far and her performance has been well received.
So no, I don't agree with your unfair criticism of JSM at all.

All those entries are written by MDL based on rumors and speculations (sourced from one magazine's article so far) since no official list is out. Even if it is on the list, it means very little as it can be flash back or whatever.

A father asking his lover to save his own unborn child - you call that a ridiculous request?Ultimately, it was…
Sorry, how can it be a breach and invasion of autonomy when he never FORCED her to have the baby.
Begging and requesting is ok, forcing is not. Can't you distinguish the difference?
He can beg all he wants, she ultimately made her decision on her own freewill. What's wrong with that?
Remember she was also under pressure from her family and her parents to get rid of the baby and the relationship too. But you wouldn't call that "ridiculous"?
Everyone had to make sacrifice with this decision. She has to go through the pregnancy. He has to raise the baby as a single parent and forego his career, with all his studies and aspirations down the drain.

As long as they made the decisions under their own free will while fully understood the consequence of such decisions (and they did), who are we to judge who is right and who is wrong?

Ultimately, it was her decision. He did not point a gun at her head to make her decide.
I don't find that "ridiculous" at all, sorry.

I'm losing interest I hardly finished ep 5. I'm starting to get bored. Does anyone feel the same? It feels like…
I guess no drama fits everyone's taste.
On the contrary, I grow to like the story and characters more and more with each episode.
And I look forward very much to the next episode.
